Most importantly, you’ll want to avoid any cleaning products that contain ammonia. “Ammonia is one component of cat urine, and if cats smell that they’re more likely to go there,” Kornreich said. In addition, ammonia and other chemical cleaners can often set the stain—the opposite of what you’re trying to do.
The first step is the most obvious. Clean any affected areas as thoroughly as possible. That doesn’t mean a quick vacuum or running over your hardwood with a Swiffer. Pet odor removal is only effective if you give affected areas a good, deep cleaning. Scrub and mop hard surfaces as thoroughly as possible, and think about using a vinegar or baking soda solution as you do so. Both are rumored to work wonders when it comes to removing pet smells. And if you’re dealing with pet odor removal from carpeting, hire a professional. Make sure they use the hot water extraction method (also known as “steam cleaning”), since it provides the deepest clean, and ask if they use a truck mounted unit. The pet stores carry them, too, but they’re more expensive. Keep your dog sleeping beside you.

Tammy, it sounds to me like you’re doing exactly the right thing. And yes, the cat may get upset, and maybe a little stressed (especially for the first couple days) but… too bad. She’ll get used to it. No one would blame you for this. Just make sure you put something soft in there for her to sleep on.
Absorb the mess. Use wet towels or paper towels, layered and topped by some kind of weight, to quickly absorb fresh puddles. Run the towels under cool water, then wring them out so they’re damp but not dripping. Place them over the stain completely and put something heavy on top, like cans of food, a pair of shoes, or a book. The moisture helps soak up the urine, while the weight presses the towels down into the carpet. Leave it on for at least 10 minutes.

I own a cat that my girlfriend claims is a bit of a male diva. What I try and explain to her is that cats are, by default, emotionally demanding, masters of creating unnecessary drama, fussy over their appearance, and basically can make the world revolve around them.
Put a washable cover on furniture. Your pet may have proudly claimed an armchair or a spot on the couch as their own. This special space, or any other furniture where your pet lounges, will need frequent washing to keep the odors at bay. If your pets spend a lot of time on your furniture, it’s a good idea to invest in washable covers like slip covers. That way, you don’t have to worry about the hassle of vacuuming and scrubbing your furniture. Instead, just throw the cover in the wash.
If you’ve had the good fortune of dealing with cat urine outside the litter box, you know that it is the most offensive and unpleasant excretions from a house pet. Products like Nature’s Miracle are also costlier and messier in the long run. Because you have to saturate a pet spot in order for Nature’s Miracle to work, you buy more and wait up to two weeks for an area to dry while living with the odor of both the urine and the chemicals. Seems the bug spray is stronger than urine, the smell goes away in a couple of minutes but, stays longer enough for her to smell and leave it alone, I used Hot Shot flying insect spray. It’s harmful because the dog won’t go near it.
