Does it have a good look? Sure. But that’s about it. I bought this from Walmart not much over a year ago. Worked good for the first few months…not great, had time to time issues with the system drawing the liquids from the chambers. Got worse and worse over time. Not long after a years worth of use, which just so happens to be just beyond the warranty, it’s not drawing liquids from either chamber, the main suction area doesn’t work any longer…and the attachment suction barely works. On top of that…it comes with one of those power cords that tangles extremely easy upon itself. And where the power cord comes out of the machine is terrible placement. You have to fight wrapping and unwrapping the extension suction around the power cord for each use. Still not done. Small carpet fibers easily get pulled into the suction areas of the machine, to places where it’s impossible to remove the carpet fibers without breaking it open. Poor design…poor machine. STAY AWAY FROM THIS MODEL!!!
Urinary frequency is also important. Peeing six to eight times per day is “average.” You might go more or less often than that, depending on how much water you drink and how active you are. Increased frequency can be caused by an overactive bladder (involuntary contractions), caffeine, a urinary tract infection (UTI), interstitial cystitis, benign prostate enlargement, diabetes, or one of a handful of neurological diseases.9
“Clean up pet accidents by first blotting up the area and then adding a white distilled vinegar-and-water solution. Blot until it is almost dry. Then sprinkle baking soda over the area and let it dry. Vacuum up the residue the next day.”
Urine is the body’s liquid waste. It is made by the kidneys, which filters toxins out of the blood. It contains water, salt, urea, and uric acid. Urea is expelled in the form of sweat through the body, while uric acid is the result of urine metabolism.
For set-in pet stains on carpeting or rugs, simple spray cleaners may not suffice. You can rent a carpet cleaner from your local grocery or hardware store, or hire professional carpet cleaners to come attack the stains.
I have a dog door in my house. Although my dogs use it regularly, one of my dogs is afraid to go out when it is raining heavily, and has peed on the carpet a few times at night without my knowledge. I didn’t know about it until it had dried. Please don’t judge. Nobody wants their pet to pee in the house. It’s so frustrating and embarrassing.
CR’s take: For carpet cleaners, this is where it gets tricky: Both of the higher-performing Bissell models on this list have “pet” in their names. This one does, too, but that’s where the similarity ends. Unlike the two Bissells covered above, the Deep Clean Deluxe Pet is only so-so at cleaning and worse than that at leaving a dry carpet behind, scoring a Poor. It’s also several pounds heavier when full of solution—36 pounds, so it can be a bit unwieldy. The ironic part? It costs more than our two top Bissell picks, proving that the price-quality relationship doesn’t always bear out.
I have a 25 yr old satillo tile with concrete grout floor. I have always had a variety of animals in my home and for some reason this has been the place where the accidents happen. I have tried all kinds of things that appear to work but then the smell comes back. Especially in the damp winter time. I have a 23 yr old macaw that does have some respiratory deficiency in the house so I can’t use anything that will harm him.
There is one flaw, however, which is that the same citrus smell that discourages your pets from reusing the area is created by orange oil. This is terrible for any kind of hardwood flooring and it’s not worth the risk as it can strip the finish.
Find old stains. You might have a general idea of where old stains might be from the odor. If you think there might be old stains in an area, explore using a sweeping motion, gradually moving farther away from the generally smelly location. The pet urine that you’re looking for should show up as a yellow or greenish color. Try looking in the following areas:
I am so annoyed. upon moving a bed to another room I found three pee stains rather large under the bed smack dab in the middle of carpet. I tried three carpet cleaners and a toothbrush scrubbing allowing overnight soaking in. I tried three different at home carpet cleaner as well. When wet it looks like the stain is completely gone. But when fully dry stain reappears. Any suggestions? If I hire a commercial cleaner it will look great until it dries any help from anyone???
Pets are great, but they don’t always smell that way. Even the cutest cats and dogs can make your rugs and furniture stinky if you’re not vigilant. Worse, even the best pets can have accidents on the rug.
So, without further ado, let’s discuss three of the best pre-cleaner shampoos around. They’re made for cleaning carpets and if you combine them with the right machine… you’ll never have to worry about a stained or smelly carpet again.
As our aim is not just to wash the spot but to prevent our dog from peeing there again we should try to use some ingredients which has very strong smell. Using vodka or alcohol (as they have such a strong odor themselves) will help to avoid the future repetition of the pee smell situation. In order to eliminate the smell from the carpet surface we need to apply vodka by wetting the spot with the cloth or spraying it with the spray bottle. After applying the alcohol we should rub the surface with some force. After rubbing we should take a dry paper towel and wipe the remaining liquid from the carpet. We should again and again wipe the surface until the paper towel will remain completely dry.
Allow the area to dry completely. Once the area is thoroughly dry, vacuum up the baking soda. A fan or heater can assist drying. The baking soda absorbs the odor and urine. (Use a hard bristled brush to loosen up the baking soda if necessary.)
5. Put together at onset: It was easy. A monkey could do it. It comes with instructions and Costco Concierge would help me if I had called, as well as Bissell. Says so right on the instructions, but I didn’t need it. BUT (big but here) the holes weren’t lined up correctly on the hose wrap hook and so it required both my husband and I to put that part on. I used it before he came home from a trip by tying the hose up around the handle. 🙂
Before you use any products on furniture, it’s best to disassemble as much as possible. Remove pillows, blankets, slip covers, or any other materials so you can vacuum or treat areas separately and thoroughly.
Sophia: I really need to do something about this problem in the house we just moved into 3 weeks ago. Before we moved into this house we had the entire carpet professionally steam cleaned. The carpet cleaner could smell dog urine as soon as he came into the house (it was a rainy day). It has been three weeks and we still smell it in a couple of the rooms.
Pregnant women have a higher risk than others for UTIs, which increases their chances of having ammonia-smelling urine. One report from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) finds up to 8 percent of pregnant women experience UTIs.
Well, my puppy started pottying on my new carpet after a few months, for some reason. I clean the spots by first soaking it all up with paper towels, then using OUT. I also used my carpet cleaner machine. However, I went back with the black light and the spots are still showing up just as bright. I’m sick. What to do?

Larger beds will likely have a removable cover on them. Wash the cover in the washing machine. To target odors in the stuffing, sprinkle the stuffing with a bit of baking soda. Vacuum off the baking soda, then replace the clean cover. A clean, odor-free pet bed awaits.
This product will really deep clean your carpet and is particularly good at getting rid of lingering odors and old stains. Nature’s Miracle call this ‘odor lock technology’ and it really does seem to break down the molecules that cause the smell and this results in a permanent solution to any difficult to remove smells. It is also very good for removal of allergens.
Dealing with a urinary incontinence episode is never easy — but it can be especially difficult when the episode happens around other people. Dark clothing can help disguise wetness, but it won’t cover up odors. Fortunately, there are other ways to keep smells to a minimum.
Using small piece of soap and a bit of water make a cleaning soapy liquid. The resulting soapy liquid is applied on the smelling surface. Wait for approximately 10 minutes. With the wet sponge remove the remaining soap and wash the spot.

When I moved into this house the carpets smelt of cat pee which 2 of my dogs peed over them, not wanting to change the carpets until I decorate I used a steam cleaner on them, my dogs no longer pee there and I can’t smell any either. May be worth a try with a steam cleaner. I have found the small hand held steam cleaners better than those for the floors.

In addition to an ammonia-like odor, another telltale sign of dehydration is bubbles in a person’s urine. And if someone is dehydrated, their urine is dark honey or brown color, rather than a pale yellow or gold.
Just tried this and it really works! It completely removed the smell on carpet that had been repeatedly peed on. We got a dog from animal friends and when I went back to teaching she’s been peeing in the corner area of my living room. It smelled like a kennel. All of the smell is gone!
Please do not use bleach! You will strip the carpet fibers of the color dye. If you would like to learn how to remove pet odors and stains please call a professional Like Benchmark Restoration & Cleaning
Nature’s Miracle, which can be bought at most large pet stores—at some in gallon containers with a battery-operated sprayer, although that’s not necessary. We have lived with cats for decades, and this is the only material that is always successful in removing odors. We have not had real problems with our cats, but all you need is one to make a house smell terrible. Nature’s Miracle also works well in the washing machine—just add a bit in the pre-rinse.
We have had our dog for 6 months now and have had trouble toilet training him. Our house stinks of urine. We had it professionally cleaned, but it still stinks. It obviously has gone right through to the underlay. What can we do?

Well, after the black light arrived, we went around the house and found white patches showing up EVERYWHERE! I read that the bright white can be from left-over carpet cleaners, that urine should be dull and yellowish. Anyhow, in our case, the black light did not help us identify urine spots, because most of the white spots did not smell like urine, and there was so much “white” that we cannot tell “yellow”. We gave up the idea of “spot-cleaning” except for one spot that I definitely smelled urine.
If you have a puppy, an elderly dog, or a dog still mastering their potty training skills, you’ve dealt with pee in the house. Depending on what surface they go on, and how long it sits before you find it, that stubborn dog pee smell can really stick around! But it doesn’t have to.
Accidents will happen, particularly if you have a young puppy or an older dog. How to get the smell of dog wee out of carpet is big business, judging by the number of products that are on the market to do the job! But do you really need these chemicals? In this article, I am going to show you some simple tips for how to get dog urine out of carpet without chemicals, fuss or expense!
*Based on studies conducted by independent laboratories of Chem-Dry’s HCE (Hot Carbonating Extraction), P.U.R.T. (Pet Urine Removal Treatment), Granite Countertop Renewal, and Tile, Stone & Grout cleaning processes. Allergens tested were dog and cat dander and dust mite allergen. Pet odor results based on testing with the most common odor sources found in dog and cat urine. Pet urine bacteria results based on Chem-Dry’s HCE cleaning process and a sanitizer, combined with P.U.R.T. All bacteria results include use of sanitizer. Figures are an average across multiple tests.
Search at night or in complete darkness. Pet urine can be difficult to see, especially when old, so maximize your search efforts by taking advantage of darkness. Either wait for night, or make the room as dark as possible.
Have your pet checked by a veterinarian to rule out medical causes for the accident. When you are certain your pet is healthy, use positive reinforcement to train yourcat or dog to eliminate in the proper place.
