“best way to clean cat pee from carpet -remove mouse urine”

Cats spray (mark walls and vertical surfaces) to mark their territory or when they feel threatened. If it’s spray we’re talking about instead of regular pee (a wet pool on the floor), you’ll need to treat the psychological reasons for the cat’s anxiety.

Clean old pet messes with an enzyme cleaner. Hidden or improperly cleaned messes are often the culprits behind pet odor. If there are areas where there have been recent pet messes, spray the area with an enzyme cleaner. Let the cleaner soak in for 30 minutes, and then blot it dry with a clean cloth. You may find that the pesky pet odor has disappeared.
There’s no need to rinse or blot the enzymatic cleaner, you simply let it do its work, dissolve and dry. The length of time required depends on what version of cleaner you buy. Some require 24 hours, while serious stains may take up to two weeks to completely dissolve the smell and stain. Sometimes the smell gets worse before it gets better, so don’t be discouraged. In the store, look for the version of carpet cleaner that’s formulated especially for pet urine removal and is available in liquid or powder formula.
After throwing out the old items, remove the rest of the remaining items and clean the sides, shelves, and drawers. Wipe down when finished. Reload the refrigerator and leave an open box of baking soda in your clean refrigerator. By doing this, you’ll ensure that your refrigerator stays fresh-smelling.
Pick up and wash laundry. Laundry that’s piled up on the floor can start to take on a musty odor, and this can make the entire room smell.[1] What’s worse, wet laundry can be a breeding ground for mold. Collect laundry from all over the house, separate it into loads, and wash it in the washing machine.
I had this same problem with my elderly miniature poodle. The only thing that has worked is a mild sedative, Acepromazine, at bedtime and putting a diaper on her. I might have to keep a diaper on her 24/7 because even though I watch her almost continually she still urinates in the house occasionally. The night time solution came after consultation with her vet. I never tried putting her in a crate, beside the bed at night, this might work. Since your dog is young as compared to my 15 year old dog, I would try the crate thing first. Good luck!
It’s important to consult with your veterinarian to find out why your cat isn’t using her box. But in the meantime, if you do find urine on the new chaise lounge, don’t fret. We’re sharing 10 tips for cleaning cat urine and preventing your furniture from being given away to your sister who’s been eyeing it anyways.
To clean the compounds that are not water-soluble, use enzyme cleaners which are the most powerful substance in term of cleaning cat urine. They are meant to destroy the uric acid into ammonia and carbon dioxide. You will notice that it will off gas afterward.
The reviewed removers are chosen from the best cat urine removers that have been proven to be very effective. All the formula is safe for hand contact, you only need to be careful not to let it touch your eyes. Wearing safety glasses is fine and don’t let children get close to the product since they might try to drink it. Depending on the type of stain that you’re going to apply on, choose the right remover. For food stains, it’s best to use natural bacterial formula products. But if it mostly contains chemical components, a chemical formula might work better.
Clean furniture. Pet smells love to hide in furniture. Your cat’s special chair may be host to all sorts of irksome smells. The type of furniture will dictate the best cleaning method, but you should always check the care labels before cleaning to make sure the piece isn’t dry clean only. Care labels marked with an S mean don’t clean with water, and X means dry clean only.
Jothan Hatch, the national training director for Chem-Dry carpet cleaning, has a puppy named Koda who’s still perfecting potty training. Sometimes, when he gets over-excited, he “leaks,” says Hatch. Fortunately, Hatch knows a bit about rescuing rugs.
Amidst the daily wear and tear your home experiences, there are all kinds of stains and smells you can encounter. From dirt, to ink, to wine, and more, it’s virtually impossible to prevent accidental stains from happening.
Also, try to remove your shoes at the door to avoid bringing into the home the smells that cue “OK to pee here” response. I found that my dogs had more accidents right after professional steam cleaning because the padding released additional urine smell, again the cue. We went with hardwood and area rugs and close the doors to bedrooms that still have carpet. Crate a night. Happy life.
And the smell that is coming from somewhere in your home is unmistakable. Your home has the smell of a kennel and you then must act like a CSI agent to find the smell. Worse yet, you may have found it right away when you slipped on something in the kitchen. Either way you want relief and you want it now!
After you’ve successfully removed the dog pee smell from your home, the last thing you want is to have to start all over again. Dogs may return to the scene of the pee crime if they can still smell their own personal scent, so be sure to clean thoroughly. You can also make the area unavailable by placing furniture or a rug over the spot.
Here’s how to clean vomit from carpet. The acid in vomit can stain a surface fast, so wipe it up as soon as you can. Use a dustpan or scraper to remove the larger chunks. Blot with a towel to clean up the moisture. Mix a solution of 2 cups of warm water, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the mixture and apply to the soiled area. Blot lightly. You may need to do this a couple of times to remove a tough stain. When the stain is gone, remove cleaner by putting a cloth dipped in clean water on the area. Blot dry with a towel.
Cats and dogs can smell odors even when we cannot and return to the area where urine was previously deposited. Using enzymatic cleaners, like Nature’s Miracle, to remove the urine odor is strongly recommended.

How to get dog urine smell out of carpet from my experience. We have Resolve for pet stains and odors. We were with our dog when she had her accident inside so we were able to act fast. We blotted the area with a rag to try and pick up as much urine as possible, then sprayed the area and let it set in for a while. Then scrubbed really well and we haven’t noticed a smell or any stain.
Vanessa Beaty, How is it a good idea to bathe a dog w/ peroxide? Why don’t you try pouring peroxide on your skin to test your “magic” solution out before you spew garbage disguised as advise like this ?
Note that if you mix them together in a spray bottle, the baking soda may foam so it is best to mix them and then pour into the spray bottle once the foam has receded. Using the mixture is really easy. You just have to spray the area that needs to be treated and let it sit for about an hour or so. You may want to ventilate the room or turn a fan on so that the smell doesn’t get to you. When you come back, your stains should be completely gone and the best part is that they will take the smell with them.
When cat urine dries, the urea is broken down by the bacteria. This is what makes it smell like ammonia. As it decomposes further, it releases thiols that the odor worse. (It is the thiols in skunk spray that make it SO potent and difficult to remove).
Thanks for your response Eric. Well, I did have the service come back out. He told me what he did should take care of it as he used an entire jug of whatever enzyme cleaner they use. That was Friday Morning and while it is better than it was there is still a stench. The service has said they specialize in pet treatments, but I am beginning to wonder if this is going to work. They are not pulling up the carpet so I do wonder if whatever they are doing is penetrating through to the pad. I know my cat has not resoiled the carpet because I have kept the room closed. Keeping the window open during the day.
We have a little female Sheltie that has had repeated urinary infections therefore she has had those accidents we’ve been reading about. If you watch your dog while outside and they try to pee (males???) and nothing comes out, this may be a clue that they have some irritation. Get to the vet. Cleaning their bottoms occasionally with a baby wipe may keep the bacteria in-check.
Soak the area with an enzymatic cleaner for 15 minutes. These products, available at any pet store, contain biological enzymes that break down the proteins in urine. They are the smartest thing to remove the smell of fresh cat pee.

White vinegar is a miraculous substance that will get rid of even the old accident stains that might have been missed if a dog did a “ninja-pee” behind the bookshelves or something. Baking soda is nature’s odor remover, and teamed up with vinegar, does a great job at getting rid of odors!
If you face the problem on the everyday basis (usually it is happening when you have a puppy and you are just trying to teach the puppy to pee where he should) you can prepare a small bottle of the mixture.
What if you have a situation where you can’t do any of that? Several years ago someone put an item soaked in cat pee into our cloth lined book drop. Now every time it’s hot the entire book drop smells like cat pee. I’ve tried things like Febreeze and products that promise to remove urine odors to no avail. Even though the lining can be removed and washed, the county is not willing to do that and I can’t get permission to just do it myself. So what other options are there? Short of me filing a health complaint.
