“best way to clean cat pee from carpet +what gets cat urine out of carpet”

After throwing out the old items, remove the rest of the remaining items and clean the sides, shelves, and drawers. Wipe down when finished. Reload the refrigerator and leave an open box of baking soda in your clean refrigerator. By doing this, you’ll ensure that your refrigerator stays fresh-smelling.
This bio-enzymatic formula from Nature’s Miracle is said to eliminate odor, stains, and sticky residue from carpets, furniture, clothing, and more. It is guaranteed to permanently eliminate stains and odors, so it is definitely worth a try! The self-proclaimed urine destroyer also works to discourage re-soiling due to its dual-action, odor-control system that destroys odors on contact.
The refrigerator – Aveho odor removal was demonstrated in laboratory testing to outperform sodium bicarbonate (baking soda) for removing odors generated in the refrigerator (but you really should throw that pizza away – it’s not getting any younger).
Many odors (smoke, some rotting food, pet odors, some body odors, etc.) are not derived from microbes.   so antimicrobials have no effect on these type of odors.  Aveho eliminates bad odors whether or not they were caused by microbes.

Have your pet checked by a veterinarian to rule out medical causes for the accident. When you are certain your pet is healthy, use positive reinforcement to train yourcat or dog to eliminate in the proper place.
Finally, after a week, I spray the areas in where I want my cat to never pee on, walk on, and or let alone even at with the Natural Lemon Aerosol spray. Cats hate the smell of lemons and oranges.
When your dog pees on your carpet, there are a few issues you have to address — the smell, the carpet stains and how much the carpet is saturated, i.e. how long since he peed (and how long the urine has had to seep deep into the carpet). First, the basics. What’s the best dog urine remover? You might be surprised to know that it’s plain old water! Below are some tips on the first steps to take to get dog urine out of carpet as soon as you find his “oops” spot(s).
This next step is so easy you might just want to take the palm of your hand and bop your forehead. This natural ingredient is one of my favorite go to cleaning agents, it can be used for many things around the house, it’s inexpensive, and it will remove the smell of pet urine.
You can find stores near you that sell Clorox® Urine Remover on our Shop Now page. It’s a good idea to call the store before going, to make sure they have it in stock. If you have any trouble finding it at a nearby store, you can also buy it online.
There should be plenty of flooring dealers and installers in your city. I’d suggest getting recommendations directly from friends and family (Facebook works great for this), or by browsing the reviews within the Flooring or Carpeting categories on Yelp.
My cat peed in the floor register in our hall bathroom and I know this has happened several times and with more than one of our cats. I have thrown everything but the kitchen sink down that register and nothing is helping. I actually think some of the urine has possibly soaked into the exposed wood under the tile, I can’t imagine the steel/tin ductwork would hold on to that smell….it could even be in our furnace?? We want to sell our house and can’t even leave the door open because this bathroom has turned into pee headquarters 🙁 Any suggestions? I’m gonna try the vinegar and baking soda, maybe a paste on the exposed wood/tile area???
Fresh Wave for Stinky Pets. Fresh Wave has an array of all natural, non-toxic and earth friendly products for the laundry, upholstery, floors and the air that are designed to attract, capture and neutralize pet odors. Amazon sells Fresh Wave Crystals in a 24 oz container.
Here’s how to clean vomit from carpet. The acid in vomit can stain a surface fast, so wipe it up as soon as you can. Use a dustpan or scraper to remove the larger chunks. Blot with a towel to clean up the moisture. Mix a solution of 2 cups of warm water, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the mixture and apply to the soiled area. Blot lightly. You may need to do this a couple of times to remove a tough stain. When the stain is gone, remove cleaner by putting a cloth dipped in clean water on the area. Blot dry with a towel.
Corinne, I rescued a tiny feral cat a couple years back. It’s an indoor only cat and was litter box trained. We have two cats and two boxes we clean regularly. The cat started to pee on the other cat’s bed, my bed and a blanket on the couch. I love this cat and this was disturbing. At first I thought it was stress. After Dr. visits to rule out Diabetes, antibiotics for infections, I didn’t know what to do. Then my cat looked at me and intentionally peed again on my other cat’s bed, it was this time I saw red, as in blood. I had a medicine syringe soaked up what I could and back to the vet. After more discussions and test, the Dr. said she needs a special RX of wet food. Seriously it did the trick. Wish I had done that $900.00 earlier.
Rocco & Roxie’s Professional Strength Stain & Odor Eliminator lives up to its name. This efficacious liquid will quickly and easily remove odors, but where it really shines is in handling those super hard stains.
Aveho Odor Removal Technology is an engineered material consisting of micro-sized particles that capture and physically bind odor-causing compounds, or catalytically convert the odor molecules into non-odorous molecules.  Impressive huh?  For those of you technically-challenged folks out there, here’s a translation:  Aveho is really cool, really tiny stuff that makes stink go away forever!
It seems that an elderly dog has little actual “decision” in becoming incontinent. In any case, I’ve had good luck with unscented “Hydrocide” at removing pet urine odors – you need to really saturate the carpet and the backing. After saturation, I let it sit for 15 minutes, then suck it back up with a shop vac then let the damp carpet dry. Works better for me than Nature’s Miracle and leaves no overpowering scent of its own behind. You might need to buy it from a professional carpet cleaning supply store. – Johnny Mar 17 ’14 at 2:02

I recently cleaned out my closet, i keep my room closed and no cats allowed at all times. I gave a bag of clothes to a neighbor and she said she threw them away cause they smelled like cat pee. ugh. anyway now i feel the need to wash all the clothes i have. i realllllllllllly hope the ACV works. I have no clue why they would smell like cat pee, i highly doubt my cats are breaking in there and closing the door behind them. This apartment gets really damp when it rains maybe thats the issue. any good spray fresheners to use on the carpet or walls or wherever? i dont want the freshly washed clothes to just soak up the smell again.
Try the vacuum method. Pour some cold water on the stain and immediately vacuum it up with a wet/dry vacuum. Repeat at least twice, or as many times as is necessary to remove the discoloration. Do not let the water sit; suck it up immediately (within seconds) of each application.
Technicians trained in odor removal through an IICRC approved instructor are taught the four general principles of eliminating unpleasant smells. They first attempt to locate and destroy the source of the smell. In some cases, like during fire and smoke restoration, this may be too difficult to do before cleaning the area. Once the source is destroyed, the technician will thoroughly clean any surfaces or items that were affected by the source. While carpets are often a primary spot for odors to take root, furniture, clothing, and drywall may also take on the scent if they are exposed long enough. These surfaces must be cleaned to prevent the smell from coming back.
Hi Susan! First off, are they fixed? If not, that would be the best first step 🙂 My neutered cat pees in cardboard boxes too though so I feel you. You may have to just pitch the boxes, unfortunately. I’m not a vet so I can’t say for sure why he pees in his own bed, but in my own experience with cats, he is probably doing it because he or his brother did it there once and now he’s continually going back to it to urinate for reasons that I don’t fully understand. My cat has also done this and I ended up just having to forego all plush cat beds for him. I hope you can get it cleaned up. Come back and update if his behavior stops, I’d love to know if cleaning his bed helped 🙂
Cushions and mattresses can be cleaned in a fashion similar to carpets. Soak the affected area of the cushion with water. Blot up as much of the cat urine as possible with a towel, then soak the cushion by very slowly pouring the enzyme cleaner on and around the affected area. Let it sit for 15 minutes, then squish out as much of the excess enzyme cleaner as possible before blotting with towels. If possible, leave the cushion outside as long as possible while it dries. Since cushions take days to dry, lay aluminum foil down before putting the cushion back, then put a second layer of foil over the top of the cushion to discourage your cat from peeing on the cushion again.
When antimicrobials are used, they destroy the organisms that produce bad odors, and thus, if the microbes are dead, they can’t keep stinking things up (although you would think that rotting microbe carcasses would produce a stink of their own).  However, these chemicals may also kill the microbes we want to keep around.  Microbes create unpleasant odors when they excrete what they have eaten. (except they don’t use toilets – savages).  Aveho targets the resulting unpleasant odors, but does not target the microbes themselves.
Urine is composed of waste products including urea, uric acid, sodium chloride (salt), excess water and other waste. The immediate odor from urine comes from bacteria that feed on urine. Uric acid crystals (crystalized urine residue) often remain in porous surfaces, and will emit an “ammonia” odor with time. Humid conditions or wetting the surface can also reactivate the odor.
Love this stuff and you can’t find it in the stores. I had to order it online. I have 9 cats and 11 exotic animals and it works great! I like using it on my ferret shelves even though it’s for fabric. A little misting on the carpet freshens the room. The smell is not overpowering which is a good thing since I have allergies!
