Our cat Puffy has been driving the entire family crazy with his peeing everywhere. We bought de-scenting sprays and special cleaners, which he ignored and re-marked all over the house…some advice? (I refuse neuter my cat.) Thank you.
Angry Orange Pet Odor Eliminator does such a great job at removing odors that pets never go in the same spot twice! Dogs who frequently mark their territory discontinue to do so in the same spot thanks to this product. Customers point out that this is a concentrated solution and to be sure to follow the directions on diluting, as you will not need more than is in the directions.
You can follow all this up with a a nice homey smell like oranges and cinnamon. Take two tablespoons of cinnamon and some orange peels and simmer them gently in 4 cups of water. This fresh scent will permeate throughout your house.
I took in two street cats in 2006. They are excellent in grooming themselves and didn’t need any litter box training. One of the cats has a poop smell on his scruff while the other does not. I thought it may have been a temporary thing, but it is still very much there. Is there a natural way I can get rid of this odor, especially since it is directly located on cat’s scruff area? Thanks!
After about 24 hours, soak the area with an enzyme cleaner and let it completely air dry. To keep your family members from stepping on the spot, cover the area with a laundry basket or aluminum foil. It may take a day or two to dry completely.
To make this cleaning mixture is quite simple. Take 10 ounces of hydrogen peroxide, 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and one or two drops of dish detergent. Mix all three ingredients in a bowl and then slowly pour into a spray bottle. (Otherwise, the baking soda will cause the mixture to foam all over the place).
I never have problems with pee. My problem is with a cat that throws up. How do you get those stains out. My brand new carpet is stained so bad it needs replacing again. Cat food is made of brightly colored
A malodor is what we perceive when our noses detect certain chemicals present in the air in very small amounts, between less than 1 and 100 parts in 1 million.  Aveho traps or breaks down these chemicals.  As these chemicals and the Aveho particles come into contact, Aveho will capture many of them, whether they are in the air or water.  Once they are captured, they will either remain bound to the Aveho particles, or they are converted into different chemicals that do not smell unpleasant.
Wow! The All-Surface Granules really work and it is so easy to use. I have a 15 year old cat who had soaked my new sofa with urine. I had done everything I knew of to try to rid it of the stench. Twenty-four hours with Odorzout, and you would never guess there had ever been a problem. I also have a pouch hanging by the litter box. I never intend to be without your product again.
Yes. Baking soda is especially effective and part of many protocols for removing the urine smell. However, a single treatment may not do the trick if the urine has already dried in. You may need to repeat daily for two to three weeks.
After I read about 950 here, I did some research and read reviews. I ordered the gallon size and it removed the stains I had been fighting for months. It is absolutely awesome. I was so glad that I came across it, I had to come back just to thank the person who introduced me to it!!
Apologies I actually posted that comment before I completed it. I would love a suggestion for the best way to clean ceramic tiles! Also, since the bathroom is a small space should I use the same products for every surface or would it be ok to use vinegar and bleach on different surfaces in the same room? Thank you!
I have two long haired cats and definitely appreciate the febreeze effects. I also have a nice smelling house and it doesn’t soak what I spray it on. My cats favorite lounge spot is my leather couch and it is yet to damage my leather. I highly recommend!
I have a cat and his litterbox gets a little smelly. This eliminates the smell instantly! Its like a miracle. It also works well for “the wet dog smell” that will linger around the house when my dogs get wet and lay on the couch. This works really well. Over spraying it can be overwhelming though.
10. Grab a paper towel, and try to blot up as much of the urine as possible. If it’s a large spot and you don’t want to waste paper towels, use a cloth towel or old clothes that can be thrown away. If the spot is on the carpet, stand on the wet spot (remember to wear shoes).
Accidents happen. After all, dogs are only canine. And even the best-behaved cats sometimes think outside the litter box. That’s when it’s up to us, as their true best friends, to have the right product on hand to restore peace, love and carpets. In the case of pet urine and other tough stains and odors, Rocco & Roxie stain & odor eliminator is the one to reach for. Its professional-strength bio-enzymatic formula goes to work at once, releasing active bacteria that feed on ammonia residues left behind in pet urine and other organic materials. So not only does it get out the stain, it eliminates the odor deep down within the carpet at its source-which discourages re-soiling. The result: Stains and odors are completely eliminated, leaving carpets, floors, furniture and other surfaces fresh and your beloved pet. Out of the dog house. Of course, it works on much more than pet urine: any organic stain-vomit, feces, all the gross stuff, whether human or animal-lifts out of rugs, carpets and upholstery easily and completely. And not only is our stain & odor eliminator child, pet, it’s so safe on carpets its earned approval from the trusted carpet and rug institute (CRI). Many of our customers tell us this is the most effective stain and odor product they’ve ever used — in fact, we guarantee it! Not just the stain, but the stink. From stinky yellow pet urine and feces to vomit and other organic spills, our professional strength formula tackles them all.
I have made a mix using peroxide and using a squeezy bottle have used the solution by pouring it in where each slat meets the other. I now have a lovely clean floor, lighter than the rest in parts but who cares!!
There is a line that cannot be crossed when it comes to successfully decontaminating an area. It is critical that items that can’t be restored be removed and properly disposed of. If anything stays in the area that isn’t able to be thoroughly sanitized, leaving them can compromises the integrity of the entire area and poses health threats to anyone who comes in contact with the objects. Common items that may need to be discarded for safety might be couches, carpet, carpet padding, sub-flooring, and drywall. Each case is different and our cleanup team will determine what is appropriate for your specific circumstance and doing so will guarantee that safety has been restored.
Figuring out which product to use is the first step in making sure that your home stays fresh and neat no matter how many pets you might own. With the best pet stain and odor remover at your side, there’s no need to apologize for smells and stains that tend to accumulate with even the best-mannered buddies around the house. Figure out which is right for you and give it a shot, it’s time you start winning this war.
We have two dogs and one of them either peed or pooped upstairs. I have done everything I can imagine to get rid of the smell (cleaners, carpet steaming, screaming, etc) and nothing is working. Do you guys have any ideas aside from ripping out the carpet.
Body – Whether it’s your turn to car pool the soccer team to and from practice this week, your locker room has reached dangerously funktastic levels or you’ve got teenagers (we won’t delve into what that entails), Aveho will “clear the air” and eliminate body odors from fabrics, spaces and containers.
We bought our house 16 years ago. It had been infested with rats. One hallway has a closet for the furnace. It reeks of rat urine and wafts out into the hall. Without tearing out the sheetrock, how can I get rid of the smell? There is a space in the ceiling that is open and can be reached. It seems to be where most of the smell is. Please help. Thank you.
After you have used the blotting treatment above to deal with wet stains or the blacklight gadget above to locate those ‘invisible; dry stains, it is time to tackle the odor! I like to keep a spray bottle handy containing a 50/50 mixture of white vinegar and water.

If you happen to suffer from allergies or multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS), you are sure to benefit from using Smelleze® because it does not emit any harmful chemicals and works by eliminating smells rather treating them with additional chemicals which might cause you a problem.
Chances are you were using a store bought cleaner that was a brand name in conjunction with a cleaning machine. These cleaners are soap based and as a result, do not remove the odor. Instead, what happens with these types of cleaners is that they attract dirt. They also do not have anything in them that works as an antibacterial agent to break down and remove the odor. You need to use a cleaner that will destroy and kill germs and bacteria that cause the odor. Genesis 950 is my go to cleaner. It is by far the best pet stain remover I have ever found.
Thank you so much for this recipe. I used the vinegar and baking soda mixture to remove urine stains and strong odors from my son’s carpeted room. It worked wonders! Both our puppy and our 2 year old are potty training and have peed on his floor several times a week. I made this concoction today (had to half it due to the size of my spray bottle), and I added 4 drops of lavender essential oil too. It worked like a dream. There’s a hint of lavender smell in his room and nothing else.
Cats and dogs can smell odors even when we cannot and return to the area where urine was previously deposited. Using enzymatic cleaners, like Nature’s Miracle, to remove the urine odor is strongly recommended.
Note that some enzymatic cleaners may not work if other chemicals were used beforehand to try to treat the stain. It is generally a good idea to try the enzymatic cleaner first, and saturate the area well. Follow the manufacturer’s directions closely and allow to dry for several days. You may not have to do anything else.
Hi Emily, great question! I recommend looking into crate training your dog. It’s not easy leaving your dog in a crate while you’re away, but it can help with training. Crate training has been proven to help dogs get potty trained. Check out the article and let me know if you have any questions, and good luck! https://www.caninejournal.com/crate-training-puppy/
Mellody, I believe is urinating on my daughter’s bed out of habit. Over last 10-14 days I have cleaned my daughters mattress with Natures Miracle, then again with peroxide and baking soda: making a paste, scrubbing it into the mattress, letting it dry (3 hours), then vacuuming it up. After that, I placed a plastic mattress cover (zippered) on her mattress to avoid further soiling. I also purchased a brand new sheet thinking that maybe the smell was still in the old sheet. Even after all that, she still urinated on the bed.
