“cat pee cleaner |what gets rid of dog urine smell in carpet”

As with any product that you would put on your carpet, flooring or furniture, always test for color fastness. To test for color fastness, mix a small amount of the solution and place on a hidden area of your carpet. Wait 24 hours or until carpet is dry before proceeding to full treatment.
Purchase a repellent spray if your pet keeps urinating in the same area. There are a variety of sprays available for different types of pets, such as dogs and cats. Search for one that fits your household needs (such as being safe for use in houses with children) and won’t damage your particular type of carpet.

If you’re not dealing with too many stains, but are instead overwhelmed by the smells of your pet’s leavings then you’re in good hands with this pet and dog urine odor remover from Angry Orange. It’s specifically designed to eliminate pet odor, but it’s really not going to do much about staining.
This is what I do. I don’t bother buying store cleaners anymore, as with some “accident’s, you can go through a whole bottle! The solution I mentioned above works just as good or better. Then once a year I get the professional carpet cleaner to come. It’s amazing the stains he can get rid of that I can’t!
I just recently bought a Bissell ProHeat 2X® Steam Cleaner as we have an 8 month old Boxer that still has accidents.. With the steam cleaner I used Bissell 2X Pet Stain & Odor Formula.. For the smaller areas where she still has some tiny accidents I have used Bissell Pet Stain & Odor Remover – Spray, I’m very sensitive to smells (not like an animal though ) and I have been unable to smell the urine since using these products. I have also noticed when she has another “accident” it’s not in the area I have cleaned, it will be in a new area..
If the wood on your furniture, walls, baseboard or floor is discolored, the varnish or paint has reacted to the acid in the urine. You may need to remove and replace the layer of varnish or paint. If you do so, make sure the new product is safe for pets.
Charged Media filters are also effective against nasty odors. Through the use of electrostatic energy and synthetic fiber filters, many charged media filters can collect particles as small as 0.1 microns. The media filter, made from synthetic fibers, is charged the manufacturing process and attracts airborne contaminants electrostatically before trapping them inside the fibers of the filter.
Apply another towel and absorb the cleaner. After soaking the spot with cleaning, follow the same procedure as with the first absorbing, and put a fresh towel over the enzymatic cleaner to absorb it and thoroughly cleanse the area. Weight the towel with a heavy object and leave it alone.

Zero Odor Pet is not formulated to be applied directly on people or pets. And, as with any household product, do not spray or apply Zero Odor Pet into the faces of people or pets. When spraying Zero Odor Pet onto hard flooring or above a hard floor, Zero Odor Pet may temporarily cause floors to become slippery. Before using Zero Odor Pet on carpet or fabric, always test a small area for color fastness or adverse chemical reactions. Keep out of the reach of children. Discontinue use immediately in the event of a hypersensitive reaction.

Avoid using bleach or any cleaner containing ammonia. Urine contains ammonia and by using an ammonia based cleaner it will only kill the odour for a short time before it makes it worse, causing your pet to return and keep urinating in the same place.
Carl, I just bought a house and the carpet looks great but reaks of cat urine, I do not see where the cat peed. Can I saturate entire floor and tha will take care of it? Also is it safe or do I need to wear mask or something, just want to make sure it’s safe.
Thoroughly blot up as much of whatever it is you’re cleaning up. I can’t emphasize the importance of this step enough. Fold up a rag over it, place a heavy book on it, and stand on the book to make sure you really get it all out (sounds extreme, but it does a good job!) Mix 2 cups of white distilled vinegar with 2 cups of lukewarm water in a large bowl.
Eric, thanks for the suggestion, I will try that. As for the black light, I have three cats so not 100% sure which one has pee’d. But I suspect it might be my oldest cat, who is 19. She does have slightly lowered kidney function due to her age, and I take her to the vet 3-4 times a month to get additional fluids. So you may very well be right about her urine being diluted such that I can smell the stain but not see it with a black light. Just surprises me I wouldn’t see at least an faint outline, especially on items that smell strongly of urine. First I tried a small, bar shaped blacklight that came with one of the cleaners. I thought perhaps it was not powerful enough so ordered another blacklight that is like a flashlight in design and supposed to be much stronger. Neither seems to show any stain, either on the blankets or on the canvas bag. Strange, but I guess I will just trust my nose to treat the areas!
As for rented apartments.. mmm keep cleaning.. or ask your landlord if you can replace the carpet with something else. Its in their interests to say yes really because if it smells of pee when you move out, though they will take your deposit, they still have to get a replacement put in..
I really wanted this to be the answer to my search for a fantastic odor eliminator for doggie ooops. I wasn’t really blow away by it. I thought I wouldn’t mind mixing it and putting it in another container (as long as it was amazing) but it’s no where near as convenient and quick as the pre-mixed solution when disasters strike AND it wasn’t as effective either. Meh results plus the mixing–I’ll pass. The search continues.
Hi Eric! I have a kitty who is “pissed” because he has to be quarantined for 45 days – something bit him outside. He’s unhappy because of this, and keeps peeing on my bedroom carpet. I’d like to just buy a steam cleaning machine because he seems to have peed all over the whole thing. Have you ever tried this method? Would you advise against this for any reason and if not, can you recommend a specific machine that won’t break the bank?
Mon4e – Since you breed cats I would definitely invest in an upholstery cleaner. I really love Bissell’s Little Green Machine (the heated one) and the pet stain formula for that particular machine. I’d check out Amazon for the best price/suggestions. Also, it wouldn’t hurt to get some OxiClean spray too to use as a pre-treat. I have two super messy tots and OxiClean has yet to fail me.
This bio-enzymatic formula from Nature’s Miracle is said to eliminate odor, stains, and sticky residue from carpets, furniture, clothing, and more. Another place toilet odors may be coming from is the wax ring. It may have eroded and needs to be replaced. If this is something you are not comfortable with doing yourself, call a professional plumber.
