“dog peeing _best way to get pet urine odor out of carpet”

When a cat pees on rugs, carpets or furnishings it can leave a very unpleasant distinctive cat smell that is hard to get rid of. This urine odor stimulates the cat to urinate in that area again thus perpetuating the problem. Once you remove the odor permanently the cat will no longer keep going back to the same spot to re-offend.
A malodor is what we perceive when our noses detect certain chemicals present in the air in very small amounts, between less than 1 and 100 parts in 1 million.  Aveho traps or breaks down these chemicals.  As these chemicals and the Aveho particles come into contact, Aveho will capture many of them, whether they are in the air or water.  Once they are captured, they will either remain bound to the Aveho particles, or they are converted into different chemicals that do not smell unpleasant.
I finally called a service to have the carpet cleaned. They used a pre conditioner, extraction, enzyme cleaner and a deodorizer. This was Friday. The odor was gone Friday & Saturday. I kept my cat out of the room hoping to break the habit. On Sunday I started smelling a sour smell. Not as strong as what was there prior to having the carpets cleaned. By Monday morning the ammonia smell was back. (Albeit not near as strong)
To remove cat stains and odors from delicate fabrics, use the same method as you would for washing regular fabrics, but use the “delicate” or “knits” setting instead of a regular setting, as well as a larger load setting to prevent wear and tear of the fabric.
“Dogs aren’t at the groomer very long, so we don’t deal with a lot of big accidents. But intact males, usually the smaller dogs, will mark their territory right as they walk out the door. This cleans up those spots fast and there’s no lasting odor.” — Lisa Sawin, groomer and owner of Lisa’s Pet Styles
I want to add a few other recommendations to some of the qualms I have read in other reviews. As you may infer with my post, I am borderline OCD with cleanliness. I do squats at the gym just to master the hover technique over a public toilet. My advice is over the top but it works.
All of this one-on-one time means that all of our furnishings are going to hold the distinct smell of dog, and even the most rabid of dog lovers amongst us may not want the whole house to smell of a dog that needs a good washing – not if we want to enjoy the company of human guests. So how do you get rid of that smelly dog smell? We’re happy to tell you that it’s relatively easy.
The PrideBites Personalized Step-In Dog Harness comes in a wide variety of colors and can fit dogs weighing up to 75 pounds. It’s durable and easy to put on, but is it worth the price? Find out all of the details in this extensive product review.
If your cat pees in your potted plant you can deter them by placing some pine cones on top of the soil. Commercial cat repellants are also available. Here are some home remedy tips to try to Stop Cat Peeing in Potted Plants
The enzymes also destroy the pheromone in the urine stain. This is something I personally have never smelled, our noses can’t, but while vinegar may rid the urine smell, it will not destroy the pheromones. Also because my husband owns a carpet store, I can tell you a lot of times people clean the carpet, but if the urine is still in the pad underneath, or the sub floor, they are chasing their tails (pun intended) you need to be sure the pad and floor are also cleaned with the enzyme cleaner.
You might think by using your dishwasher on a daily or almost daily basis, it cleans itself. Not so. They should be cleaned just like anything else around the house. Here’s a few things you can do to prevent dishwasher odors.
I am stressed out about about my carpet, dog urine is becoming a NIGHTMARE. I take my 1 1/2 yr old dog out at least 5 times a day, she doesn’t have accidents during day, overnight is the problem, I know how to fix her from urinating, she now sleeps in her crate but my problem I just can’t seem to figure out is how to remove old stains & odor from carpet??? I have tried shout urine destroyer solution, baking soda, vintages/water mixture, bissell pet urine/odor cleaning solution, I always made sure to blot the urine spot w/ paper towels to remove most of the wetness, added the solution after soaking up but NOTHING I’ve tried works, I bought a Hoover carpet cleaner in hopes it would do the job but just seems like the urine smell had gotten stronger. I feel hopeless, i live in apartment & it’s stressing me out even more because I don’t want to lose my security deposit, so I’m DESPERATE for any advice.
Get into a regular cleaning routine. Cleaning can be a drag, but the best way to stop your home from smelling like your pets is to clean regularly and stay on top of messes. A good cleaning routine will include regular vacuuming, floor washing, laundry, and dusting. For the best results:[14]
You can also try using a black fluorescent light. These lights will show stains on furniture, walls, or carpet as yellow spots. You can purchase a black light rather inexpensively from pet stores or online.[3]
The leading store-bought products made for removing the stain and smell of pet urine from carpets use the power of enzymes to do the work and are non-toxic for pets. Enzymes are proteins that help kick off natural chemical reactions at the molecular level, and the enzymes in pet carpet care products attach themselves to the molecules that make up the urine and bacteria that feed on it (producing the foul odors) and catalyze their breakdown.
Well, we finally had to euthanize our dog for congestive heart failure about six months after the start of this urine issue. A month or so afterwards, the carpet odors were undetectable. I’m not sure which product did the “trick,” or if it was just a matter of time for the smell to dissipate. It also could have been that somehow our dog was periodically urinating in the same spots without us noticing.
I’ve been using the vinegar/water mix for years to rid the carpet of pet odors. It’s always worked well for me. I like the baking soda suggestion and if I get in a position where V/W doesn’t work, I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestions Angie’s!
Using small piece of soap and a bit of water make a cleaning soapy liquid. The resulting soapy liquid is applied on the smelling surface. Wait for approximately 10 minutes. With the wet sponge remove the remaining soap and wash the spot.
Directions for use: Turn nozzle to “ON” position. Spray directly onto stain until completely covered. Rinse with water or wipe with a clean, damp cloth. Not recommended for brass or natural marble. For painted surfaces, test for colorfastness on a small area before use. For grout and tougher stains: Spray directly onto stain until completely covered. Wait 5 minutes, then rinse with water or wipe dry.
3. When the area dried or almost dried sprinkle a handful or two of baking soda over the soiled area. Mix half a cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide with a teaspoon of detergent. Plain liquid dishwashing detergent like Palmolive is quite suitable. Do not use dishwasher detergent like Cascade.  Put on a pair of plastic gloves and slowly pour the hydrogen peroxide and detergent mixture over the baking soda. Work the dissolving baking soda into the carpet with your fingers or with a scrubbing brush. Allow the area to dry completely and then vacuum thoroughly.
Important: Before implementing hydrogen peroxide on your carpet try it on the small part of the carpet and make sure that carpet does not change the color. If the test is accomplished and carpet is looking good go ahead and wash the whole spot with the cleaning mixture.

Head to Petco and pick up some cat urine remover and cleaner to help keep your house smelling fresh. Cat urine naturally attracts the attention of other felines, and unfortunately produces some rather foul odors. Further, your kitty will tend to reuse the same spots making the problem worse. There may be multiple reasons that your furry friend isn’t using their litter box such as an infection, arthritic joints or an internal issue that your veterinarian will need to diagnose. In the meantime, you may still be wondering how to get rid of urine smell from your furniture, drapes and clothes. Luckily, Petco has you covered with a full range of cat urine remover and cleaners to eliminate that funky odor.
Hi, I recently moved house with my friend, and her cat has pee’d all over my bed, luckily it didn’t absorb into my mattress, just soaked up in my duvet, he also pee’d in a box I hadn’t unpacked yet. I have a kitten as well but she is using her litter tray and is kept in a separate room from him, so it for sure wasn’t her. How many times would I need to wash my duvet and what with? Getting really irritated with her cat now.
We have only had good results with the enzyme based Natures Miracle product in the red sprsy bottle, unless it has been changed . Their aerosol can carpet product uses a strong masking perfume abd we do not recommend that version.
Quick question for you – do you have a recommendation for an odor removing recipe that can be used in a carpet shampoo vacuum? I do not want to buy a regular shampoo from the store as my vet told me it does not remove the urine smell and that animals will still be attracted and potty on the carpet as long as I use a regular shampoo.
We are a nation of people who love to cuddle with our pets. It is undeniable. Long gone are the days when out pets were simply working companions whose place was at the hearth – and that was if they were allowed in the house. Now, they not only cuddle with us on the sofa to watch TV, they snuggle with us in our beds, go on long holiday trips in the car, even out to dinner at out favorite cafés.
Do not use in a spray applicator on carpets, upholstery or similar surfaces. WHY? Because urine is a hot liquid that leaves your pet at over 100 degrees, and quickly spreads UNDERNEATH carpet and INTO upholstery. If you spray the surface, STINK FREE Instantly will NOT sufficiently reach and neutralize deep contamination. However, it is okay to spray HARD surfaces with STINK FREE Instantly Urine Odor Remover. Just be sure the STINK FREE product reaches deep into cracks and crevices, just as the urine would have soaked in. Directions: IMPORTANT! Check material for color fastness before applying (Do not use if material is not color-fast). COMPLETELY saturate the ENTIRE contaminated area and let dry.** DONE! **IMPORTANT! For thick materials, such as carpets, saturate an area wider than the surface stain. Urine is absorbed both horizontally and vertically, in a pyramid-like pattern, which makes the contaminated area below the surface larger than the surface stain.Works for All Urine Odor. Guaranteed to outperform every other urine odor remover or your money back! Made in the USA.
I have come across a flash light like device that emits a “black light ” that when shined onto an area that has urine stains the light will illuminate with a bright light color making it possible to detect urine srains. This light is available on Amazon for about $7:00. Using in a darkened room will help spotting the stains easier.
