“eliminate cat odor |cat urine eliminator”

Urine can often soak through the carpet and into the subflooring, leaving a stain and a stench that can’t be lifted with carpet cleaner and elbow grease. If you have pet odor that will not go away despite your best carpet-cleaning efforts, neutralize the scent by using an oil-based, stain-blocking primer beneath the carpeting on the subfloor and replace the padding as well as that area of carpet.
One of the most frustrating things that can happen to a cat guardian is inappropriate cat urination, especially if it happens to take place on your furniture. Here are some cat urine cleaner methods using enzymatic cleaners or alternative methods.
Mix up your water and vinegar solution. After blotting up any excess fluid, sprinkle a generous amount of baking soda over the soiled area. Pour the water and vinegar solution directly onto the baking soda to create a mini cleaning volcano that will actively eat away at the stain. Blot and rub gently dry with a soft cloth after letting it sit for 5 minutes.
After you’ve successfully removed the dog pee smell from your home, the last thing you want is to have to start all over again. Dogs may return to the scene of the pee crime if they can still smell their own personal scent, so be sure to clean thoroughly. You can also make the area unavailable by placing furniture or a rug over the spot.
A: Under normal circumstances, sewer gas vents outside the home and dissipates into the atmosphere. Plumbing problems sometimes allow the gas to escape in the home, creating an offensive odor. Stopping the odor sometimes requires a few minutes and a pitcher of water. At other times, you might need to call for professional help.
Yes your mom is right but if you follow the instructions above you will only have to smell it once more, rather than having the smell constantly. I would recommend you air the room if you can as the smell can be sometimes deceive where the cat has urinated then follow the instruction above
First you will need Rocco and Roxie pet stain remover. Just buy the jug if you are battling cat pee. The spray bottle will not be used. Pour Rocco and Roxie on the cat pee. needs to be a puddle that soaks in through the carpet and into the carpet pad. We are not using a band aid, we are going in and sanitizing this dire situation. As you get the spots you can see, grab a UV light, turn off the lights, and prepare for night battle. Find all the illuminating spots and pour that Rocco and Roxie on all spots. Cat pee is no laughing matter to people like me. After all the spots are drenched, wait it out for a few hours and soak as much up with paper towels. If you use a towel, I feel you are transferring cat pee from one spot to the next. There will be a slight chemical smell. Again, cat pee is not like spilling your tumbler of vodka and soda water because the cat trips you up on purpose. Cat pee is anger and anxiety wrapped into one huge ball which needs strong chemicals to destroy.
Get into a regular cleaning routine. Cleaning can be a drag, but the best way to stop your home from smelling like your pets is to clean regularly and stay on top of messes. A good cleaning routine will include regular vacuuming, floor washing, laundry, and dusting. For the best results:[14]
I have two cats that seem to leave an odor in my carpets. I freshen them weekly with Febreze and all odors disappear. I also quit smoking recently and I have sprayed all my surfaces in order to remove the smell of smoke on the surfaces of my furniture. I love it. Especially the unscented.  see moreof Carlita’s review
Locate the source of the odor. It’s easiest to clean fresh stains that are still damp, since you can lift much of the urine from the affected spot. However, you may also come across dried stains. In these cases, the same procedures should be followed, even though the urine has had more time to break down and soak into the surface.
When we moved to our new home, everything looked ok. After a time s nasty smell started coming from the carpet. Then I remembered that the previous owners had cats at home and because we liked the carpet we didn’t throw it. At the end i tried whatever came to my mind to get rid if the smell, but it didn’t help. At the end I called carpet cleaning guys (http://www.mariettacleaning.com ) who helped me out. So these tips above work great if the stain is fresh, but not when it’s penetrated deep in the carpet’s fibers.
Hi Debbie, oh that is awful! I had a cat who would VOMIT on me while I was sleeping, so I can kind of feel your pain. First off, the blanket – you may want to trash it if you can’t get the smell out. They’ll keep peeing on it if they smell the pee. I’m not a vet, so of course I’m obliged to tell you that you should talk to your vet, but in my experience cats will urinate in the places they’ve gone before because they associate that as a peeing-spot.
The only way to get rid of urine odor is to use a product that has an active enzyme in it. Vinegar will only temporarily get rid of the odor. If the urine gets into the pad of the carpet, you’re sunk. If you replace your carpet, it may be worth while to get a pad that has the plastic cover to prevent it from getting wet. I’ve done this and am happy I spent the few extra dollars.
Corinne, I rescued a tiny feral cat a couple years back. It’s an indoor only cat and was litter box trained. We have two cats and two boxes we clean regularly. The cat started to pee on the other cat’s bed, my bed and a blanket on the couch. I love this cat and this was disturbing. At first I thought it was stress. After Dr. visits to rule out Diabetes, antibiotics for infections, I didn’t know what to do. Then my cat looked at me and intentionally peed again on my other cat’s bed, it was this time I saw red, as in blood. I had a medicine syringe soaked up what I could and back to the vet. After more discussions and test, the Dr. said she needs a special RX of wet food. Seriously it did the trick. Wish I had done that $900.00 earlier.
When your dog makes a mess during the dog days of summer, the smell is just … the worst. (To say nothing of cat odors, which some of our editors have previously addressed.) The three best-selling canine-related cleaners on Amazon include an enzymatic bacterial spray that’s activated on contact with poop, pee, and puke, as well as a $5 odor eliminator, beloved since the Reagan administration. Beyond these, we asked the following dog walkers, groomers, and holistic-pet-care owners for their solutions to the foulest of pooch accidents.
Any parent or pet owner has dealt with the unfortunate task of cleaning urine “accidents” from the floor and carpet. It is a natural occurrence when potty or house training and when the child or pet are sick. Carpet cleaners can be pricy and can stain expensive rugs.
LOL I understand your frustration. Sometimes things and sometimes they don’t. Especially with homemade solutions. Depends on how long that stain has been in there. I used almost a cup of baking soda and enough peroxide to wet the whole mess and let the bathrobe sit all night. Not hing had worked at all on the urine up to that point. I tries the Oxy – pre-stain plus the Osy Boost and zip after 6 washing. The Peroxide and the baking at least took the smell out, but I was able to put the item in the waster and remove the treatment products. At leas the small was gone.
Most cleaners and odor removers work their best if you attack the problem as soon as it happens. The quicker you get to the disaster the better off you’ll be. Enzymatic solutions are particularly useful this way since fresher material will find the material more “palatable” in the immediate aftermath.
Animal odors can range in severity and causes as well. From skunk spray to urine and feces, these odors can penetrate deep into fabrics, walls, carpet, and subfloors. Animal odors include carrion odors (dead body), such as those caused by an animal that dies in the attic or crawlspace and goes undetected for a long period of time.
When I moved into this house the carpets smelt of cat pee which 2 of my dogs peed over them, not wanting to change the carpets until I decorate I used a steam cleaner on them, my dogs no longer pee there and I can’t smell any either. May be worth a try with a steam cleaner. I have found the small hand held steam cleaners better than those for the floors.
What is this awesome, natural ingredient? It’s White Vinegar. I’ll bet this is the easiest homemade anything you’ve ever made! Vinegar is a natural deodorizer, a mild disinfectant and it can help eliminate bacteria the urine leaves behind.
Noxious odors on restoration and cleaning jobs can be tough to remove. Odors can permeate the entire job site, making it an unpleasant place for customers to live and work in. In some cases, strong odors can even prevent restoration and cleaning crews from getting to work.
I sure hope that the plants aren’t poisonous to the cats. You can put Lava Rocks around plants on top of dirt and your cat won’t dig there anymore; cats don’t like the feel of them. Water goes right though them to the plant’s roots, plus they are very pretty. I put them in all of my potted plants since we have 5 cats. You can purchase them in big bags at home improvement stores such as Stines, Home Depot or Lowes.
My cat has sprayed up against the glass window on my gas fire. I have had it pulled apart and thoroughly cleaned and I can still smell the burnt cat pee every time I light it. I have no idea how the glass can have absorbed the smell, I can only assume it has dribbled down into the vents. I have tried spraying aromatherapy oils and Odour remover in the same place as the cat peed in the hopes it would get into the vents as well but no luck… Any ideas? It is winter here in New Zealand and getting cold, but lighting the fire is making me sick! 🙁
Whether the lingering smell is from pet accidents, trash, chemicals, smoke, or coming from your sink or garbage disposal, Rainbow International is here to help. By identifying the cause of the odor and determining the conditions in which it exists, the odor can often be removed without a trace.
There is also one trick which can helpful if you want to prevent repetition of the odor problem. If your dog is constantly peeing in the place you can sprinkle few drops of essential oil of apple, cinnamon or eucalyptus. This pleasant for human smell dogs do not like at all.

My 16 yr old granddaughter just spent a week with me. She left 3 1/2 weeks ago. I was changing the bedding because another guest was coming, and to my horror, I could see where she had peed multiple times on my BRAND NEW MATTRESS!!! I had a thick padded mattress cover on it. If she had told me I would have done something immediately. I read this blog, and many others. The peroxide, baking soda, and dish soap was the one that came up most often. I had an unopened bottle of peroxide, but the use by date on the bottle was 2007. Yes, 2007. I fixed the mixture, it took 2 spray bottles full to treat the area. I kid you not, by the time I was finished spraying, the stain was gone. That was just unbelievable!!!!!

Clean old pet messes with an enzyme cleaner. Hidden or improperly cleaned messes are often the culprits behind pet odor. If there are areas where there have been recent pet messes, spray the area with an enzyme cleaner. Let the cleaner soak in for 30 minutes, and then blot it dry with a clean cloth. You may find that the pesky pet odor has disappeared.
