“best way to get cat pee smell out of couch |cat pee smell out of carpet”

I never have problems with pee. My problem is with a cat that throws up. How do you get those stains out. My brand new carpet is stained so bad it needs replacing again. Cat food is made of brightly colored
We are trying to remove cat pee smell from a couple of rooms in a house – what would you suggest to use a general cleaner – for tile floors and wiping down furnitures items (that are not cloth or carpet)… Should I spray a solution on the lower part of the walls or if I kilz the walls would that help? My son kept a couple of cats for a family member and they sprayed everywhere – we are gutting the room but have to treat the tile floor and walls and some of the furniture that we want to keep… Thanks so much !
Be prepared for accidents when you bring home a new cat. You’ll need to train your cat to use the litter box properly, clean up after her if she doesn’t, and get medical treatment for her if an illness is causing inappropriate urination.
Thanks so much for this! One of my cats peed on the carpet and it went unnoticed until the entire downstairs of the house smelled awful. I tried woolite spray which didn’t really work. Then I found your solution and it worked amazingly! Thanks so much!
It seems that an elderly dog has little actual “decision” in becoming incontinent. In any case, I’ve had good luck with unscented “Hydrocide” at removing pet urine odors – you need to really saturate the carpet and the backing. After saturation, I let it sit for 15 minutes, then suck it back up with a shop vac then let the damp carpet dry. Works better for me than Nature’s Miracle and leaves no overpowering scent of its own behind. You might need to buy it from a professional carpet cleaning supply store. – Johnny Mar 17 ’14 at 2:02
We replaced the carpeting in our family room last year and before we installed the new carpet, I doused the concrete floor with enzymatic cleaner. It did a fabulous job on removing the old cat urine smell.
Soak the area with an enzymatic cleaner for 15 minutes. These products, available at any pet store, contain biological enzymes that break down the proteins in urine. They are the smartest thing to remove the smell of fresh cat pee.
A: Kick out those old, sour odors, and make your smell feel fresh with a few simple steps. First, deodorize your home with baking soda, clean your home, and add fresh scents. You need baking soda, a vacuum cleaner, bleach, rags, scented candles, cloves or cinnamon, and an orange.
Aveho can be used in a wide variety of applications. Aveho can be applied to fabric, upholstery, carpeting, absorbent materials, hard surfaces, and many other places. Due to the high capacity of Aveho to remove malodors, there is no need to over-spray or over-apply Aveho, as this may leave a residue.  Aveho is water soluble, and may be washed away or vacuumed when dry.
The enzymatic action of this cleaner makes short work of even crystallized urine. Keep in mind that “short work” in this instance isn’t an instant solution, but if you’ve got to deal with truly nasty build up an overnight soak can often take care of things.
If you’ve had the good fortune of dealing with cat urine outside the litter box, you know that it is the most offensive and unpleasant excretions from a house pet. Not only does it make your eyes burn and your hair fall out, but the smell of cat urine causes cats to revisit the scene of the accident.
Hi I saw your post about kitty having trouble keeping dinner down. We have three cats and our princess Madeleine had this issue. She is also 12. She had always been fine (our babies eat supercoat and dine) but as she got older her stomach got more sensitive. The only thing we’ve had luck with is kitty soup. Done and fancy feast make it. She loves it, has put a little weight on and keeps it down 🙂 hope it helps
When we moved to our new home, everything looked ok. After a time s nasty smell started coming from the carpet. Then I remembered that the previous owners had cats at home and because we liked the carpet we didn’t throw it. At the end i tried whatever came to my mind to get rid if the smell, but it didn’t help. At the end I called carpet cleaning guys (http://www.mariettacleaning.com ) who helped me out. So these tips above work great if the stain is fresh, but not when it’s penetrated deep in the carpet’s fibers.
Shannon, I’ve used Simple Solution right in the wash. I’d take the comforter to a laundromat and use one of their great big machines. Often times the smaller machines can’t even get the entire comforter wet. They’re just too big. But yeah, I’d use a cup or so of an enzymatic cleaner in addition to your regular detergent and let it dry in the sun.
I have made a mix using peroxide and using a squeezy bottle have used the solution by pouring it in where each slat meets the I now have a lovely clean floor, lighter than the rest in parts but who cares!!
I’ve been using the vinegar/water mix for years to rid the carpet of pet odors. It’s always worked well for me. I like the baking soda suggestion and if I get in a position where V/W doesn’t work, I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestions Angie’s!
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve had the opportunity to put Stinkers! to the test on several occasions, and I wanted to share how well it performed in these five ultimately stinky situations (spoiler alert: AMAZING!):
Take out the garbage. The garbage is one of the worst offenders that cause stinky rooms, especially kitchen garbage that house food and other wet waste. When your kitchen smells, start by tying up the garbage and taking it outside or to the garage.[6]
The PrideBites Personalized Step-In Dog Harness comes in a wide variety of colors and can fit dogs weighing up to 75 pounds. It’s durable and easy to put on, but is it worth the price? Find out all of the details in this extensive product review.
Like charged media filters, Electrostatic Precipitators use electrostatic charges to safely clean air and neutralize odors. As air is pushed through many static prone fibers, electronic cells charge airborne particles and capture them inside of collector plates. As electrostatic precipitators dont require filters, you dont have to worry about replacing the filters. Simply wash the collector plates and insert back into the air purifier to receive fresh, clean air.

This tool is universal and helps to remove the stain and odor of dogs pee. The most effective way is to buy the cheapest soap which does not have any additives or added smells. The best effect can be achieved if the soap is used immediately on the fresh dog pee. Soap is also one of the best removals of bacteria and dirt from the textile surfaces.
If you do not have any spray bottles you can do the same procedure using the towel or piece of textile. If we want to achieve the best possible result we should make sure that the spot will get completely dry. When you will be sure that the spot is completely dry you can carry on and wash it with warm water and detergent.
I moved into a condo and found out that the odors were much stronger & mainly came from carpet in living room. Pulled it up and found lots of dried/old cat ( and possibly dog) urine. Removed entire carpet & padding but the stains went down to the subflooring. Flooring person recommended trying odor spray and Binz. But one area in particular is really deep and wide spread. Would you recommend having the plywood replaced?
Use a spot lifter like the Bissell SpotBot, Bissell Spot Lifter or a shop vac to help suck out the liquids. I would still cover with a towel until dry but since you are saturating the area, these offer just a little more man power to lift the liquid out.
Many have stated they are not fond the Rocco and Roxie cleaning smell. Cat Pee Smell is at the top of my offensive list which also includes items such as robot phone calls to my cell, McDonald’s no longer frying their apple pies, hair in the shower drain, and taxes. When attacking cat pee, you have to neutralize the chemical composition of this awful smell. The enzymes in Rocco and Roxie deliver this result as best as I have seen. The after smell does not sit well with all. I use Rocco and Roxie with Oreck dry carpet cleaner every two months to clean my rugs and carpets. I admit I tire of the cleaning smell but have found a solution many may want to try.
Having pets can be a rewarding experience for people of all ages and walks of life, but caring and cleaning up after them can cause many concerns and questions to arise. As the most common house pets, dogs and cats can have the unfortunate habit of urinating on sofas, recliners and whatever upholstered furniture you may have. This is a more common occurrence when animals are younger and have not been fully trained to go outside or use the litter box. However, if your pet is suddenly urinating or eliminating in inappropriate areas, it may be a sign of illness or disease, and a visit to the vet would be needed. In the mean time, it’s important pet urine and its smell is cleaned and eliminated to prevent future accidents from reoccurring.
As with the first step, blot or clean up as much as possible. Mix 2 cups of lukewarm water with 2 cups of white distilled vinegar. Instead of adding the baking soda to the liquid, sprinkle it dry liberally over the area where the accident occurred. Let it break down and deodorize for about 5 minutes, then vacuum. Apply the water/vinegar solution as in the first set of directions.
Purchase a commercial product. Look in particular for an enzymatic cleaner. Enzymatic cleaners are specifically designed for cleaning urine-soiled areas. These types of cleaners break down the enzymes in the cat urine and neutralize the odor. They can usually be purchased at any pet store. Well-known brands include Knock Out, Urine Off, and Anti-Icky Poo.
