“best way to neutralize cat urine smell +neutralize cat urine”

I loved this product. I was constantly being around people who smoke and hated that the smell lingered on me wherever I went. This got the job done to eliminate the cigarette smell. And also just smells so good. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
I just found a black canvas type bag in my closet that has been peed on several times. Put it under a blacklight but not seeing specific stain area. I was thinking to clean this in the sink or a bucket with water and detergent…maybe adding some baking soda or vinegar, but I also have a few enzymatic cleaners (Anti Icky Poo and SCOE 10x). Should I use one of the enzymatic cleaners first, then wash in detergent with vinegar or baking soda? Or skip the cleaner altogether?
Products that use more traditional methods of cleaning with solvents (to dissolve stains) and surfactants (surface active agents that “wet” the carpet) may not be as effective and can actually deactivate enzymatic cleaners. Keep an eye on the ingredient panel for chlorine, ammonia and sodium lauryl sulfate, as these can be harmful to pets (and people, too). If the product’s instructions direct you to keep pets and children away from the product after it has been applied, you might want to think twice about using it in your home.
If you’re not dealing with too many stains, but are instead overwhelmed by the smells of your pet’s leavings then you’re in good hands with this pet and dog urine odor remover from Angry Orange. It’s specifically designed to eliminate pet odor, but it’s really not going to do much about staining.
The enzymes also destroy the pheromone in the urine stain. This is something I personally have never smelled, our noses can’t, but while vinegar may rid the urine smell, it will not destroy the pheromones. Also because my husband owns a carpet store, I can tell you a lot of times people clean the carpet, but if the urine is still in the pad underneath, or the sub floor, they are chasing their (pun intended) you need to be sure the pad and floor are also cleaned with the enzyme cleaner.
For most pet owners, it takes trial and error before they find something that works. In this case, we’ve already done the leg work and picked out five (out of dozens of others) that are pet-safe and will remove urine stains and eliminator the odor effectively.

After cleaning the pee and other items out of carpet, grab baking soda and some natural essential oils. I found a box of oils on amazon. Add tea tree oil and lavender to the baking soda. In fact, add whatever smell you would like for the olfactory. Add lots of drops to the baking soda and mix well. Shake this mixture all over the carpet. It needs to look like it just snowed. Get a brush, preferably with a long handle to protect your back, and agitate the baking soda into your carpet. Leave it on over night for best results and then vacuum. If you can’t wait that long, at least let it sit two hours. Baking soda and the oils are all natural so safe for humans and animals. This step has helped in creating a more earthy and pleasant smell in my home when I do the manic bi-monthly cleaning.
How to know that the dog urine stain is definitely gone? Because it’s the bacteria for dog’s urine that causes the bad smell, obviously you won’t be able to see it. Thus, after you’ve treated the area, get a UV blacklight (pet urine detector) and light the area. A well-treated area with the best pet odor eliminator should pass the UV detector test.
Air cleaners utilize various methods of filtration for neutralizing and cleaning the awful odors in indoor air. Activated Carbon Filters are the most widely used type of filter to remove gases, odors, and chemical toxins. The carbon that is contained in activated carbon filters is basically charcoal. When charcoal is treated with oxygen, millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms are created, enabling the activated carbon to adsorb odorous substances from gases or liquids.
First you will need Rocco and Roxie pet stain remover. Just buy the jug if you are battling cat pee. The spray bottle will not be used. Pour Rocco and Roxie on the cat pee. It needs to be a puddle that soaks in through the carpet and into the carpet pad. We are not using a band aid, we are going in and sanitizing this dire situation. As you get the spots you can see, grab a UV light, turn off the lights, and prepare for night battle. Find all the illuminating spots and pour that Rocco and Roxie on all spots. Cat pee is no laughing matter to people like me. After all the spots are drenched, wait it out for a few hours and soak as much up with paper towels. If you use a towel, I feel you are transferring cat pee from one spot to the next. There will be a slight chemical smell. Again, cat pee is not like spilling your tumbler of vodka and soda water because the cat trips you up on purpose. Cat pee is anger and anxiety wrapped into one huge ball which needs strong chemicals to destroy.
One of the toughest stains to handle at home is a urine stain. Whether it’s a human or pet urine stain, the odor that comes with it is pretty unpleasant, right? Once that odor is there, don’t worry – your nose will let you know!

If you don’t have hydrogen peroxide on hand you could substitute it for a spray laundry stain remover. Check the bottle. If it says ‘Oxy’ anywhere on the label then it probably contains hydrogen peroxide. Preen, Sard, OxiClean etc.
Keep that litter box pristine. Your idea of clean and your cat’s idea of clean may not be the same. Choose a time each day to clean the box and sprinkle a baking-soda based deodorizer to keep things fresh for your cat.
