“cat urine products +get pee smell out of carpet”

Add a one-pound box of baking soda to your regular detergent and wash as usual, air-drying if possible. If you can still see or smell the soiling, wash again with an enzymatic cleaner — these break down pet-waste odors.
On rugs, carpet, upholstery, etc. again pick up the mess as best you can spray with straight hydrogen peroxide. Blot the wet spot up and rub up the stain and odor. If necessary treat again by spraying area with peroxide and sprinkling baking soda over that. Let dry and vacuum. Works for me. Hope it works for you too
Chloe, thanks for the insight! You’re right, if a cat is suddenly urinating outside her box when she’s never done it before then that’s a red flag to take her to the vet. I will add that to this article.
I used this recipe for Dog Urine Removal. I have four dogs and it worked! I couldn’t believe it…smell was gone and it didn’t smell odd like it does with store purchased products…thank you very much. Read all Testimonials
Don’t punish your cat for inappropriate urination. Instead, attack the problem systematically by first eliminating any residual odors with a strong enzymatic cleaner. This will prevent your cat from continuing to urinate in the problem area. The next step is to find the origin of the behavior and solve the problem at the source.
My cat Chancey a male never had a problem with urine till someone threw Smokey a female out of a window of a car and then I kept her; they say cats are territory and he is acting out you could say he is jealous;I clean the spot with peroxide dish soap and vinegar; when it is totally dry I then saturte the area with baking powder for 2 months and I cover the area with 2 garbage bags I leave the bags on if he pees again all you do is to wipe with paper towels ;and spray the mixture don’t smell a thing!
Getting rid of the smell of cat urine from carpeting can be challenging, because it can soak right through the carpet fibers to the carpet padding. And since cats have a strong sense of smell, it’s important to clean and deodorize the area completely to prevent a return visit!
Hydrogen peroxide, or H2O2, is a powerful oxidizer that renders the chemicals in strong, acidic pet fluids, such as urine or vomit, inert. Peroxide breaks down the crystallizing compounds in urine and also removes stains. Be sure to test for color fastness before applying.
Incidentally, hydrogen peroxide is an excellent blood stain remover so if you have blood on your clothing, carpeting or other fabric, you can just dab a bit of peroxide on it and it should lift off easily. This particular recipe is also great for getting the skunk smell out of your pets. If you have rambunctious dogs that like to chase skunks, you know what smell we’re talking about. Just give him a bath in the baking soda mixture and the smell will go away.
For the most part, these can be separated into hard and soft surfaces. What works well on carpet, for instance, might not be quite as good for tile or hardwood. The latter can be particularly problematic when it comes to picking out a good cleaner but enzymatic cleaners are quite often benign enough to not affect their finish.
Rubbing a cat pee spot to absorb the moisture only spreads the stink. Instead, get a cloth or paper towel and press down hard to get out any soaked-in urine. After you’re finished, leave another cloth or pile of paper towels on the spot to soak up more.
And sodium acetate really wont do anything to anything at that concentration either, it’s far too diluted in the mixture to actually do anything. The only thing you could argue is putting the baking deep in the stain then pouring the vinegar over it. It could lift some of the stains away from carpet fibers, but the actual chemistry of mixing the ingredients WONT do anything. You are cleaning it with basically nothing but water.
I never have problems with pee. My problem is with a cat that throws up. How do you get those stains out. My brand new carpet is stained so bad it needs replacing again. Cat food is made of brightly colored
A: The most common source of a rotten egg smell in residential structures is a natural gas leak. Though natural gas itself is composed primarily of methane, which has no odor, gas companies use an additive known as mercaptan to provide an early warning for homeowners
We are trying to remove cat pee smell from a couple of rooms in a house – what would you suggest to use a general cleaner – for tile floors and wiping down furnitures items (that are not cloth or carpet)… Should I spray a solution on the lower part of the walls or if I kilz the walls would that help? My son kept a couple of cats for a family member and they sprayed everywhere – we are gutting the room but have to treat the tile floor and walls and some of the furniture that we want to keep… Thanks so much !
Replace the cat’s litter box more often. Cats like clean litter boxes, just as humans like clean bathrooms. If you’re neglecting your cat’s needs when it comes to offering a clean litter box, he may find it harder to resist urinating on your sofa or carpet.
I moved into a condo and found out that the odors were much stronger & mainly came from carpet in living room. Pulled it up and found lots of dried/old cat ( and possibly dog) urine. Removed entire carpet & padding but the stains went down to the subflooring. Flooring person recommended trying odor spray and Binz. But one area in particular is really deep and wide spread. Would you recommend having the plywood replaced?
also be absolutely certain to avoid foods with HIGH magnesium and ash content, I’ve had numerous cats over the years, two at the same time from using no name cat food i’d bought from IGA/superstore/provigo/metro, chains in Canada and all associated. I didn’t realize by saving a few bucks it would cost me upwards of five hundred bucks to have the vet use a catheter to open up their urethras. If the concentration of ash and magnesium is too high, then often they wind up getting calcified pieces of chrystals in their urine which for a person, is tantamount to having small shards of glass /a cat will meow, painfully when urinating, sometimes as they are full of pee, they’ll go where they are at, check the spot, or leave ateeny amount of litter in their box, to avoid missing the blood. You can see the shiny glittery shards of calcified urine pieces, or if you’re not too squeamish(urine is sterile until it exits the body, just wash your hands after using a finger to run through the spot. Don’t punish them, this is like punishing a child for puking when they are ill. Take them to a vet, change the food to low ash/magnesium content, and once a week , allow the urine to get really concentrated, by removing their food bowls, not the water, just the food, and the system will purge itself and break up chrystals naturally. Just one day a week, let them go without food until night time, say fourteen hours. I know the crying will get to you but in the end they will be healthier for it people should give a certain quantity of food per day, dense food as well, such as no name iams, sameingredients, immense difference in price mother hubbards is one that sells it around a dollar or dollar and a half . If you switch, some cats develop this naturally, and have to be constantly purged. Anyways I hope this saves on vet bills, if your cat is already bleeding, it’s late to do anything but see a vet, google humane societies for low cost vets, as vets tend to overprice, another thing, all prescriptions can and you should insist on a prescription/they have been known to charge up to 100% more on something you can pick up for your pet at a local pharmacy. I had to get phenobarbitol, which was at the vet, but she was a cat lover/animal lover, she suggested instead to get it at the pharmacy, which I did from then onward, valium is effective on cats or dogs having seizures, fyi, but you must verify weight online, at several different sites, also for agitation while taking roadtrips, vomitting, etc. Its a wonderful thing to have on hand but never give more than.25mgs of it. NOT 25 mgs. Thanks for your answers. I hope I have assisted you bookmark or copy and paste also one last thing, animals in particular, males, tend to get this calcificated urine particles, after they are fixed, or before, you need to clarify that, so if you get them fixed, go online to ensure what their diet should consist of remembering always, they are carnovores, so try to get (the ingredients are listed on the side, the most quantity to the least in that order)foods that contain mostly chicken, rice, etc, it’s the crap in the food the fillers that cause these sicknesses. Most vets won’t be happy when you tell them you are aware you can get same meds at a pharmacy, unless they are strictly for animals, to avoid the immense markup but they cannot refuse you. Not one time, you can put in a complaint that can cost them their license, they’d prefer to just give you the script.

If you’ve been dealing with cat urine outside the litter box, the best feeling is knowing that the problem is over. I can report that my cat no longer considers the carpeted corner of the room to be a restroom.
In my experience this has never worked we had a dog that was Notorious for going to the bathroom inside the house and nothing that we tried could get the smell to go away even when I was just trying to get rid of a simple dog smell that was not related to urine I feel like there is more hype over the products and their needs to be and you’re selling the name not a quality product

Tobacco smoke odors caused by people smoking cigarettes, cigars, or pipes indoors tend to permeate the entire structure. The longer a person smokes inside, the stronger the odor is and the more difficult it becomes to remove.
However, many brands still use dangerous ingredients in their solutions. The numbers of ingredients are numerous, but a few common ones include dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and glyphosate. Not only are they dangers to dogs, they’re even harmful to humans, too. For example, a study in 2014 found a correlation to cancer (Schinasi et al. 2014).
