“dog pee on mattress _pee on carpet”

Thanks So Very Much for all these tips!!!!! This is the Most Helpful site I have found!!!! Bless you!!! My Elderly parents have a cat who has Never peed inside, then peed a lot on their bed. Now, I feel after a trip to the grocery & pet store, that maybe I will be armed with Everything I need to help them out!!! Many, Many thanks!!!!!
Just tried this and it really works! It completely removed the smell on carpet that had been repeatedly peed on. We got a dog from animal friends and when I went back to teaching she’s been peeing in the corner area of my living room. It smelled like a kennel. All of the smell is gone!
If you go to a horse store, you can get some stall neutralizer that works for the rocks. I live in the desert and so I really do not have grass. I sprinkle this every so often and it helps immensely. It will come in a 40 lb bag and it is safe for pets.
Important: It is better to wash the spot few times until you will use the carpet again. If the spot will remain smelling urine it will just attract dog and he will pee on the same spot again and again.
Shannon, I’ve used Simple Solution right in the wash. I’d take the comforter to a laundromat and use one of their great big machines. Often times the smaller machines can’t even get the entire comforter wet. They’re just too big. But yeah, I’d use a cup or so of an enzymatic cleaner in addition to your regular detergent and let it dry in the sun.
The very best way to eliminate cat urine and dog pee odors from your house is by not letting them happen in the first place. Here are five useful tips that will help keep your cat from random accidents:
“Bleach is the best germ killer, but it’s really toxic. So I also use a blend of vinegar and water to clean. And it doesn’t ruin hardwood floors. To eliminate smells, spray a blend of ten drops of tea-tree and lavender oils and eight ounces of water.” — Jay Andors, animal trainer and owner of NYC Clicker Trainer
I’ve used the vinegar/water cleaner, followed by hydrogen peroxide/baking soda procedure for the last several years. We have three labs, and had two cats (one of whom is no longer with us). The process worked well for stains AND odor. Actually, doing the carpet AGAIN as we speak!
This doesn’t look like your average dog toy, because it isn’t! The Outward Hound Puzzle Cube is an interactive puzzle toy for pups that enjoy squeaking and chasing tennis balls. It stimulates your dog’s mind and gets him up and active.
Use a spot lifter like the Bissell SpotBot, Bissell Spot Lifter or a shop vac to help suck out the liquids. I would still cover with a towel until dry but since you are saturating the area, these offer just a little more man power to lift the liquid out.
Sounds like your kitty may need a new cat food. I have a lot of experience with cats, and most of the hairballs and vomiting stopped for us when we switched to a more natural food. We feed Diamond indoor formula, but any cat food whose main ingredients are meat rather than corn and wheat is likely to win you a reprieve from the constant vomiting. Just make sure you swap foods over the course of time rather than abruptly, to save on stomach upset. Yes, it’s more expensive, but the cat’s lack of vomiting (and the food’s lack of staining, if the cat does vomit) are worth a little extra. 🙂
Depending on how long ago it happened, finding the place where your cat urinated can be either obvious or something that demands a little bit more effort. Use your eyes and nose to track down more obvious urine stains. Using a blacklight can help you to identify normally invisible urine deposits – for serious issues with inappropriate urination, a blacklight is an invaluable tool.
Thanks for the comment, Art Lover. However, I have two 12-year-old cats that I’ve had since they were tiny kittens. I had them both declawed and they’ve never had issues with their litter boxes or their feet. I won’t start a debate on declawing here, because those can get ugly, but I highly recommend declawing.
Crate training seems to work with most dogs. Dogs want to sleep near you, so let them do that – put the crate right next to your bed. This will reduce whining and stress. Try to make it as positive an experience as possible – special treats or a favorite toy that they can have only in the crate. Limit water intake before bedtime.
In my experience this has never worked we had a dog that was Notorious for going to the bathroom inside the house and nothing that we tried could get the smell to go away even when I was just trying to get rid of a simple dog smell that was not related to urine I feel like there is more hype over the products and their needs to be and you’re selling the name not a quality product
I have been using the original Zero Odor for many years. It does the job for the humans in the house. This product is great for the pet population in the house. I highly recommend Zero Odor for Pets or people.
If you do not have any spray bottles you can do the same procedure using the towel or piece of textile. If we want to achieve the best possible result we should make sure that the spot will get completely dry. When you will be sure that the spot is completely dry you can carry on and wash it with warm water and detergent.
Once you’ve cleaned a particular area, prevent a recurrence by changing the significance of that area to your cat. In other words, since cats prefer to eat and eliminate in separate areas, place food bowls and treats in previously soiled areas, or play with your cat in that space and leave toys there.
Now that you have picked the best pet odor eliminator to fight off that nasty urine smell your new puppy may leave as you continue to train him, you may want to look into effective techniques on how to housetrain your puppy.
Someone please help! We moved into our house at the end of November and we have 1 cat. The previous owners had cats over the years, as well. We noticed that anytime the basement got damp (our sewer backed up in winter and now with springtime thaw and rain~basement leaks a little bit) that the smell of cat urine was overwhelming. Under our stairs was a space that was semi-boarded up, so I took the boards down and found about 50+ piles of cat poop that was certainly OLD and white, as well as lots of dirt (?), rotted wood, etc…bought a black light and yes, it is all cat urine under there too. I then scanned the entire basement and there is cat pee EVERYWHERE!!! I don’t know what to do or where to start, since this is not a small, localized area. Call a haz-mat team? I know professional services can be expensive. Please help!! Oh, and the walls are old fieldstone and the floor is rough and bumpy cement. Thanks in advance!
Before buying from Melaleuca, I would check out the reviews on them and the BBB. Many people are complaining of being sent unwanted merchandise, having their CC billed even though they have ordered nothing, and of being harassed and threatened when they attempt to close their memberships. Personally, it would not be worth it for me to deal with a company like that no matter how well their products work, but I’ll leave it to you to judge that for yourself.

It’s important to choose a urine remover that’s suited to the urine-affected area. Whether that’s a couch cushion, your clothing, or a cement floor, look closely to make sure that the urine remover is appropriate for use on the intended surface. All of the products in the following list of the best urine removers are appropriate for use on most water-safe surfaces.
Clean the toilets. Toilets are another household fixture that can house mold, mildew, bacteria, and other stink-sources. Pour 1 cup (235 ml) of vinegar into the bowl. Spray down the outside of the bowl and seat with vinegar as well. Let the vinegar stand for five minutes. Scrub the inside of the bowl with the toilet brush, and wipe the outside of the bowl and the seat with rags or paper towels.[3]
I think it’s too much of a personal anecdote to stand on its own as an answer, I figured someone else would have more concrete information, but I wanted to throw it out there as an option since Hydrocide isn’t really a consumer oriented product, I heard about it from the guy that came out to clean our carpets. – Johnny Mar 17 ’14 at 3:28
But even for him, that wasn’t good enough. Throughout the day he would relieve himself in one litter box, then the other litter box, and then – not finding it suitable to re-use one of the litter boxes – the carpeted corner of my bedroom.
If not treated properly, the odor from pet accidents can travel through the entire home and impact your health and your happiness. The smell emitted from an accident area also often leads to repeat incidents in the same area until it is properly eliminated.
