Nothing works. Dried stains are bad, we wash them and stink is still there. Wet stains are more manageable, I do the paper towel trick then soak with the stain remover. But dried ones went thru the entire carpet and even thru the wood under carpet (how do I know? Replaced carpet once, the wood underneath was soaked with the stinker’s urine), so I have the smell all the time, just waiting my dog will pass away as she is very old and sick, and then we will put the hard wood. In the mean time, professional cleaning doesn not help, vet vaccuum that we own, does not help either. I am frustrated.
Have two dogs, when we go out and be gone couple of hrs, they piss and poop on the carpet. It is in the smae spot everytime. I have scrubbed an did evrything to get rid of this smell. How do I keep them from using the bathroom and in the same spot?

It is great if you noticed the puddle immediately and started to clean up. But what should we do if the carpet is already dry and we need to get rid of dog pee smell? We should mix one cup of hydrogen peroxide with 1 tablespoon of dishwashing soap. Using the brush wash the spot properly. It is better to wash even a bit bigger surface than the spot itself.
So I found one way to get up the fibers is with a squeegee. This is just a common window squeegee that I attached to an old mop handle. And it has a sponge on one side, but the other side, it has a really firm, rigid rubber squeegee.
Next weekend, I am tackling the stairs… Will amend the review to reflect the “stair” tool as well as the “hard floor” tool that I ordered from Bissell for use on my ceramic tile floor which should come next week as well. 🙂

6. It has large wheels on the back of the machine so that when you need to move it from one place to another and you aren’t using the motor i.e. re-positioning or putting it away so that you can lean the machine back on those two wheels and move it like a dolly cart, etc. The machine is NOT self-propelled, going to the “heavy duty” con below. 🙂

Kidney disease causes chemicals in urine to become concentrated and to cause a smell resembling ammonia. Kidney dysfunction can also cause high bacteria and protein levels in the urine, which will contribute to a foul, ammonia smell.
Thank you Thank you Thank you. I spent my whole weekend cleaning my family room carpet with a carpet cleaning machine, about 3-4 times. Today it STILL smelled like urine. I tried the recipe and it worked GREAT. I put the vinegar/water mixture in my machine and went over the stinky area. My carpets are pretty dry after the machine sucks all the water up so I went right to the next step and a few hours later I am crawling around on my hands and knees trying to find the urine smell but it is nowhere to be found!!!! : )

Keep your pet well-groomed. A well groomed pet not only smells good, but looks good, too. Regularly bathe your pet, clip their nails, and brush their teeth. Keeping up with regular grooming can drastically improve the smell of your house, because fur, dirty nails, and even bad breath can make your house stink.
Put a washable cover on furniture. Your pet may have proudly claimed an armchair or a spot on the couch as their own. This special space, or any other furniture where your pet lounges, will need frequent washing to keep the odors at bay. If your pets spend a lot of time on your furniture, it’s a good idea to invest in washable covers like slip covers. That way, you don’t have to worry about the hassle of vacuuming and scrubbing your furniture. Instead, just throw the cover in the wash.
There aren’t many downsides to our furry friends. They provide us with a whole lot of joy, but an unfortunate side effect of living with them is the fact that we end up with both stains and odors that can get rather distasteful. Thankfully, there are a lot of ways to take care of them, so if you’ve been looking for a commercial solution to this nose hair burning and unsightly problem, we’re happy to present you with some solutions.
If your specific issue is trying to remove pet urine odor, you’re in for another treat altogether. Pet urine odor is one of the most difficult smells to remove from any surface, and at times requires you remove the flooring altogether, and replace it, if none of the less substantial solutions do the trick. Still, it can be done. Here’s how.
Using small piece of soap and a bit of water make a cleaning soapy liquid. The resulting soapy liquid is applied on the smelling surface. Wait for approximately 10 minutes. With the wet sponge remove the remaining soap and wash the spot.
It does have some shortcomings: this product works best on fresh stains. If you’re moving into a former hoarder’s abode with crystallized urine and ruined floorboards then it’s not going to be sufficient but if things are in decent shape right now and you want to keep them that way it’s perfect.
Sounds good, but what about any discoloration damage to carpet if “enough strong peroxide” is used? You say use 30% H202, so is the 40 volume (assume 40%) clear developer from beauty supply too strong?
Pee is your body’s liquid waste, mainly made of water, salt, and chemicals called urea and uric acid. Your kidneys make it when they filter toxins and other bad stuff from your blood. A bunch of things in your body, like medications, foods, and illnesses, can affect how yours turns out.
Nature’s Miracle is one of the most popular pet cleaning products out there. The advanced formula attacks set-in pet stains, removes pet pheromones, and destroys odors on contact to prevent re-soiling. Best of all, you can use it on any surface.
Love this thanks.. however what is the ratios for using it in the carpet cleaner?? I have three dogs and the youngest one who isnt so young anymore likes to go where ever she wants so now the others are following suit!!
Had fungus on my left thum nail which was brittle and splitting and right big toe nail … doctor prescribed Penlac it’s like nail polish … apply to and under nails … Back to normal in about 3 to 4 months

The Bissell DeepClean Deluxe Pet is a very effective deep cleaner that is focused on taking care of pet stains and odours. It has a hair basket, which will trap the pet hair, so that you do not have to remove it yourself in the machine.
As with the first step, blot or clean up as much as possible. Mix 2 cups of lukewarm water with 2 cups of white distilled vinegar. Instead of adding the baking soda to the liquid, sprinkle it dry liberally over the area where the accident occurred. Let it break down and deodorize for about 5 minutes, then vacuum. Apply the water/vinegar solution as in the first set of directions.
urine can penetrate the face fibers, also the backing which is plastic.sometimes with a big pet it can reach down to the pad and the subfloor wood or concrete.first pull carpet off of tack strip check to see if urine has gone into the plastic or back of carpet.if you see or smell it there but not in padding or concrete then apply a enzyme treatment to it and extract the urine with a extractor.flip carpet back down onto tack strips and apply to fibers on top carpet rinse with extractor.dry carpet with high speed air mover.if the urine soaks padding remove and discard.apply enzyme to subfloor clean and extract and dry out
I had come on here to find a way to remove pet stains. After reading through the comments, I found one person who said about Genesis 950. I had never heard of it before, however I had gone through virtually every cleaner at the pet store and nothing was working. I was about to give up and replace the carpet . . . I probably could have with everything I spent on cleaners.
The best carpet cleaner products for pets should not only simplify clean-ups, but also work to discourage pups from returning to the same area of your home when they need to go. Because pups are often prompted to relieve themselves in the same spot by the scent of their own urine, you’ll want to pick up a pet carpet cleaner that not only gets rid of those tough-to-remove stains, but works to wipe out all traces of the odor as well. Many dog and cat parents agree that by removing all traces of odor and stains, the best carpet cleaner for pets makes it easier to teach them to seek an appropriate place to take care of business.
One possible cause that i haven’t seen here is that you dog/puppy may have diabetes. My puppy was not getting house trained so i took her to the vet to only find you she was very sick. If you still have problems contact a vet/trainer for help.
Allow the area to dry completely. Once the area is thoroughly dry, vacuum up the baking soda. A fan or heater can assist drying. The baking soda absorbs the odor and urine. (Use a hard bristled brush to loosen up the baking soda if necessary.)
Another option: Mix a solution of 1/2 cup of hydrogen peroxide and 1 teaspoon of liquid dish detergent in a bowl. Sprinkle baking soda on the soiled area. Pour the liquid solution on the baking soda and the stain. Gently rub the area with a soft-bristled brush or cloth. Let it sit for 10 minutes (longer if the vomit has dried.) Use a towel to remove as much liquid as possible, then vacuum the area. For a tough stain, you may have to repeat these steps.
Enzymes are protein that help break up urine molecules and dissolve odors. Enzyme cleansers work, but they can take some time. You’ll spray or blot the area with cleaner, then let it sit for a while before blotting it up and scrubbing the spot. You may need to repeat this process.
