“how to remove pet odor -smelly urine”

The best enzyme product I’ve ever used! In the past decade I’ve never had less than 10 animals in my care, and I’ve occasionally reached upwards of 30-40+ animals. After reading MSDS documents I found that a lot of products (I’m looking at you nature’s miracle) oftentimes were not even enzyme changed the way we think of them, and we’re actually just watered down and over priced hydrogen peroxide. I had resorted to using septic tank additives that needed precise dilution and had other undesirable enzymes and ingredients. Then I found odormute and it has been through a battery of field tests here! A cat urine soaked dog bed would normally have been discarded without a second thought, I soaked it in odormute thinking it could be salvaged enough to be used outdoors for my pets while I garden. It worked so well that bed is right back in its place, in my kitchen! I should have written this review months ago when I first used it. I am just now getting a refill and realized I hadn’t shown my support. A billion stars to this product. … more
The same basic procedures apply for an old stain. But be aware that an old stain may require two or three full cycles of enzyme cleaner application (allowing it to completely dry between applications) in order to completely clean the stain.
Try adding borax to the wash load – use up to a cup per large load but don’t overfill the load so that all of it can move around well. Sometimes you will need to do more than one wash. Don’t dry until you no longer smell the urine or else it will set the smell.
Using traditional methods of cleaning up the cat smell usually eliminate the ammonia smell but Uric acid in the urine is left behind. That can only be broken down by an enzyme cleaner. Here is a link Enzyme cleaner This should break down the uric acid.

We just got two kittens about a week and a half ago. They both use the litter box, but I noticed he doesn’t cover up. As I was cleaning today I’ve noticed cat pee and a lot of different places. I caught him tonight peeing on my daughter’s bed, a mink blanket I got in Korea. He is only 7 to 9 weeks old and we got him from the animal shelter. Do you think it’s because he’s still young and having accidents or could there possibly be something else? Everything else about him is great. Oh, we do have 2 dogs but they are separated by a baby gate so they can see each other but not so much interaction just yet.
The sinks in our homes get used many times throughout the day. It’s not a wonder you might occasionally catch a whiff of something stinky now and then. With body oils, hair, toothpaste, soaps, etc. going down the drain – yeah, it can stink. Here are a couple of things that can cause odors and how you can clean them.
You go to the pantry to get a fresh roll of paper towels and are relieved that they are the extra absorbent and the super strong type with the beefy guy on the package. Ripping open the package you assault the offensive sausage or mop up the little ocean of urine. After cleaning up the land mines or your yellow river you mount an assault on the odor using a bazooka size air freshener, you fumigate the entire room.

I took my puppy from a dog foster home about a year ago. I love him to bits; he has a great personality, and I feel that he loves our family so much. BUT, whenever I leave him at home he pees in the house: on the carpet, on the bed, on flowers..
However, many brands still use dangerous ingredients in their solutions. The numbers of ingredients are numerous, but a few common ones include dichlorophenoxyacetic acid and glyphosate. Not only are they dangers to dogs, they’re even harmful to humans, too. For example, a study in 2014 found a correlation to cancer (Schinasi et al. 2014).
Urinse Pre-Spotter removes urine residue from soft and hard surfaces. This highly effective cleaning concentrate is specifically formulated to remove all stages of urine residue from both soft and hard surfaces.
For the most part, these can be separated into hard and soft surfaces. What works well on carpet, for instance, might not be quite as good for tile or hardwood. The latter can be particularly problematic when it comes to picking out a good cleaner but enzymatic cleaners are quite often benign enough to not affect their finish.
Add in 4 heaping tablespoons of baking soda, adding it in smaller amounts if it threatens to fizz over (and it really does fizz!) Pour into a spray bottle and thoroughly spray the area. Let sit for 5 minutes, then gently rub and blot up with a soft cloth. You can also simply pour some straight from the bowl over the stain if you don’t have a spray bottle.
You’ll want to find the stain as soon as possible and blot up as much of the urine as you can with a clean cloth. Next, rinse the area with clean water and remove the liquid with a wet/dry vacuum. “You don’t want to use a steam cleaner, as the heat can set the stain,” Roberts said. Follow with an enzyme cleaner.
But even for him, that rule wasn’t good enough. Throughout the day he would relieve himself in one litter box, then the other litter box, and then – not finding it suitable to re-use one of the litter boxes – the carpeted corner of my bedroom.
Quick question for you – do you have a recommendation for an odor removing recipe that can be used in a carpet shampoo vacuum? I do not want to buy a regular shampoo from the store as my vet told me it does not remove the urine smell and that animals will still be attracted and potty on the carpet as long as I use a regular shampoo.
I that’s a little drastic and not fair to the dog/puppy. You don’t have to cut the sub floor out, if you do it right and there is no visible stain on carpet you can replace the area of stained padding for the sub-floor paint over affected area with kills paint, available at Walmart and lumber stores return carpet to use.
Hi Debbie, oh that is awful! I had a cat who would VOMIT on me while I was sleeping, so I can kind of feel your pain. First off, the blanket – you may want to trash it if you can’t get the smell out. They’ll keep peeing on it if they smell the pee. I’m not a vet, so of course I’m obliged to tell you that you should talk to your vet, but in my experience cats will urinate in the places they’ve gone before because they associate that as a peeing-spot.
You can create your own pet odor remover with ingredients that may be in your pantry. Pet parents may find that their sweet fur babies have decided to relieve themselves in various parts of the house. The stench of pet urine and feces that soak into your carpet and furniture can overwhelm your home quickly. Cleaning your pets accidents immediately is essential to preventing odor. Begin by absorbing urine with paper towels before cleaning.
Hi I have a cat who keeps peeing in the same spot (next to rat cage) he’s been treated for a UTI as a precaution even though the vet doubted an infection and was convinced it was all behavioural and he was territorial, the meds were a precaution. Anyway I’ve tried other things with the pet rats and now I need to regime as they are getting stressed with smell of cat Lee (yes he’s neutered) so they scent mark even more which in turn stresses kitty and makes him scent mark also. I live in UK and have never seen peroxide in shops, do you think I could clean up without the peroxide? I have been using a UK enzymatic cleaner called urine off cost around 15gbp ($26) so it has cost a fair bit, but the smell remains. I’m hoping when the rats have been regimes that his urge will go, but with HIS smell still there who knows? Any suggestions??

Maria, it might be worth it… Otherwise, if it hasn’t been recarpeted yet, I’d spray the heck out of it with Simple Solution. Just completely saturate it and hope it soaks far enough into the wood to get to the urine. Are there particular areas where it seems the cat/cats liked to go?
Invest in air-purifying houseplants. Certain houseplants are known to clean the air, and they may help to control odors in the house as well. Houseplants you can grow around the house for air-purification include:[15]
The enzymes also destroy the pheromone in the urine stain. This is something I personally have never smelled, our noses can’t, but while vinegar may rid the urine smell, it will not destroy the pheromones. Also because my husband owns a carpet store, I can tell you a lot of times people clean the carpet, but if the urine is still in the pad underneath, or the sub floor, they are chasing their tails (pun intended) you need to be sure the pad and floor are also cleaned with the enzyme cleaner.
Please do not use bleach! You will strip the carpet fibers of the color dye. If you would like to learn how to remove pet odors and stains please call a professional Like Benchmark Restoration & Cleaning

1.Vomit – Norovirus (aka the stomach flu) made its rounds through our family at the beginning of December, and it hit us HARD. In fact, it hit some of us more than once (ugh!), and there were plenty of middle of the night accidents where a kiddo with groggy aim missed his “barf bucket” and hit the floor instead. Fortunately, we had spread towels down on the floor, so the carpet was spared of any damage, but the foul odor lingered for days until I discovered Stinkers! I sprayed a liberal amount of Stinkers! on the smelly area of carpet, and within minutes I couldn’t smell the sick aroma anymore – thank goodness!
Stinkers! is a powerful odor remover that’s tough enough for the nastiest of all organic household smells, and it actually eliminates the offending odor without just masking it. Stinkers! is available in a ready-to-use spray bottle or a 10x concentrated solution, and is safe for all fabrics, leaves no residue, and requires no rinsing. You can’t get much easier than that!
There aren’t many downsides to our furry friends. They provide us with a whole lot of joy, but an unfortunate side effect of living with them is the fact that we end up with both stains and odors that can get rather distasteful. Thankfully, there are a lot of ways to take care of them, so if you’ve been looking for a commercial solution to this nose hair burning and unsightly problem, we’re happy to present you with some solutions.
