“neutralize urine odor |remove dog urine from mattress”

A. First, it’s important to determine if your cat is truly spraying, or whether he is urinating. With urine spraying, cats tend to stand upright and eliminate a small amount on vertical surfaces. Cats that are urinating usually squat and eliminate larger amounts on horizontal surfaces. If you’re not sure, it’s best to have your cat examined by a veterinarian to determine the cause of the problem before you try to treat it on your own.
I have two long haired cats and definitely appreciate the febreeze effects. I also have a nice smelling house and it doesn’t soak what I spray it on. My cats favorite lounge spot is my leather couch and it is yet to damage my leather. I highly recommend!

I first learned of this product via a weekly cat news letter that is written by a vet. The story she told of this product’s efficacy impressed me so much that I just had to at least try it, as it sounded too good to be true. It is TOTALLY effective and is the only product I use. It’s SO effective that my visitors are amazed that I have 4 cats, live in a year-round humid climate, and have carpet. Every cat family should have this product in their home. The other added benefit is that it can be safely used around pets (don’t spray directly on pets).
This home remedy is a life saver! My cat likes to pee in the dining room (of all places) to teach me a lesson when I go out of town… and this is the ONLY thing that works to eliminate the odor…and I’ve tried EVERYTHING! Thank you SO much!
You can place the soaked up newspaper or paper towel where you’d like your pet to urinate. This is a positive way to help let them know where to urinate as you’ll be transferring their urine smell to the appropriate location.
HEPA (High Efficiency Particulate Air) filters, by definition, are required to filter at least 99.97% of all airborne particles as small as 0.3 microns, including dust, pollen, and pet dander. However, the size, material, and construction of the HEPA filter media will determine the amount of particulates that will be filtered. If the filtration media is too small, some ultra-fine particles like foul odors and chemical fumes can be missed.
If you’re faced with set-in stains or smells you can’t get rid of, it may be time to call in a professional, as sometimes spot-removal isn’t enough, Hatch said. “Unfortunately, urine doesn’t just stay at the top of carpet, it soaks into carpet padding and backing and can even soak into the sub floor,” he said. Spot cleaning can only get the urine at the face fibers of the carpet, and to truly remove the bacteria and the odors they can create, you’ll need a professional, he said.
We’ve used both Resolve and Nature’s Miracle to remove pet urine smells. Your cat urine recipe sounds like a good alternative to store bought stain and scent removers. I’m going to try this recipe next time one of my pets has an accident.
Go ahead and replace the cover, then allow the area to air dry. A high-quality enzymatic cleaner will continue to consume odor sources until they’ve been completely eliminated. If after the first application, the odor remains, reapply after the surface has dried.
Willow, once should do the trick, assuming the washer you use is large enough. Sometimes they get all bunched up in the washer and the soap/water can’t penetrate all the way through the entire thing. Take it to a laundromat if need be. Just use your regular detergent and about a quarter cup or so of apple cider vinegar. If you have it, it helps to add some Nature’s Miracle to the laundry.
Additionally, once a urine stain dries, you may no longer see it but you can still smell it, and so can your cat, leading him or her to re-mark the area. “When it comes to cleaning up cat urine, many cat owners make the same mistake—not cleaning it up quickly enough,” says Meg Roberts, president of Molly Maid, a residential cleaning company.
Once you have got the area as dry as you can, liberally sprinkle on ordinary baking soda, again working it into the fibers of the carpet with your fingertips (don’t forget the rubber gloves!), or an old, soft toothbrush.
Personal helpful tip: at step 5, I simply cover the entire stain area with a dry towel and place some weight on it. It ensures maximum contact and all the liquid goes up into the towel without me having to hold it. Try it.
Some cleaners use oxidation as the acting agent in the cleaning process. While oxidation is highly effective in removing stains and does an excellent job of cleaning up most of the substances in cat urine, it does little break down the uric acid that causes lingering odor. For that reason, it doesn’t work to get rid of that subtle smell in the long-term. Oxidizing cleaners can be effective if your cat doesn’t repeatedly return to the affected area, but to really get rid of that barely-noticeable long-lasting smell, enzymatic cleaners are preferred.
Once you’ve cleaned a particular area, prevent a recurrence by changing the significance of that area to your cat. In other words, since cats prefer to eat and eliminate in separate areas, place food bowls and treats in previously soiled areas, or play with your cat in that space and leave toys there.
Put doggie door that leads to either back yard or garage. If into garage put doggie pads. If you have a patio in back yard also put doggie pads. If gets windy hold pads with small rocks on corners. If you live in apartment,t use doggie gates to a section. & place painters plastic on floor with doggie pads all over. It is alot of work & money on doggie pads but no pee on carpet especially if you live in apt & you have to work
I had a stench that I could not get removed from dog urine in carpets. I bought Tide Odor Rescue and mixed it with hot water in a Gallon bucket. I used a $1 store scrub brush to scrub the carpet with the solution. The smell left immediately. I’m not sure how long it will last but just to be safe I sprayed the spots with The Amazing Whip It to ensure the smell doesn’t return. Whip it works perfectly but costs quite a bit compared to the Tide. I recommend either to remove the stench. I also used a towel to blot up any excess products. Oh yeah, the stain went away immediately too. They were old stains. Whip is so good you can just spray the stains and walk away. Try either one and give a response. You won’t be disappointed
If the vomit was on the carpet, after wiping it with a damp rag, sprinkle baking soda over the stain and let it sit for an hour to absorb the moisture. If the stain is on a hard floor, proceed to step 3.
