“odor removal _urine smell out of carpet”

I am so thankful for this stuff. We have 2 bigger dogs ( that aren’t the best smelling bless their hearts) and 3 cats with 2 very stinky litter boxes. This completely gets rid of anything gross like odors. LOVE THIS
There is one flaw, however, which is that the same citrus smell that discourages your pets from reusing the area is created by orange oil. This is terrible for any kind of hardwood flooring and it’s not worth the risk as it can strip the finish.
Whether you have a pet or a toddler, chances are that you are going to have a urine stain on your mattress. Getting those stains off (and particularly getting the smell out) can be difficult. There is however, a really effective and really inexpensive method for removing urine from mattresses, clothing, carpet and just about anything else that you may need.
I just recently bought a Bissell ProHeat 2X® Steam Cleaner as we have an 8 month old Boxer that still has accidents.. With the steam cleaner I used Bissell 2X Pet Stain & Odor Formula.. For the smaller areas where she still has some tiny accidents I have used Bissell Pet Stain & Odor Remover – Spray, I’m very sensitive to smells (not like an animal though ) and I have been unable to smell the urine since using these products. I have also noticed when she has another “accident” it’s not in the area I have cleaned, it will be in a new area..
When we moved to our new home, everything looked ok. After a time s nasty smell started coming from the carpet. Then I remembered that the previous owners had cats at home and because we liked the carpet we didn’t throw it. At the end i tried whatever came to my mind to get rid if the smell, but it didn’t help. At the end I called carpet cleaning guys (http://www.mariettacleaning.com ) who helped me out. So these tips above work great if the stain is fresh, but not when it’s penetrated deep in the carpet’s fibers.

After many years of pet ownership and trying various brands, I found this brand several years ago and have been sticking with it ever since. I would warn anyone with sensitivities however, it has an extremely strong deodorizing scent while wet; hard to describe, but the fragrance is almost overwhelming, somewhere between perfumey and detergent-like. BUT: It works, so I keep buying it despite the strong scent. It doesn’t just mask the urine odor either, it genuinely seems to eliminate it and once the product dries the odor isn’t overwhelming anymore and the urine smell is gone. I have a senior-aged kitty who suffers from Urinary Tract Disease and he goes outside the box when it’s acting up and he’s in discomfort. I’ve tried many other brands offering various promises and that I’ve tried work as well as this. You pour it on the stain and leave it to dry, very easy. It warns to test for color fastness but I’ve never had any issues with it on surfaces or fabrics. I particularly like it for my unfinished hardwood floors because it’s otherwise impossible to clean into the floor boards with any degree of success when cat urine odor is involved. So I just pour this in the cracks and leave it. As a further testament, just this last week I ran out and of course that’s when my cat had an accident. After scrubbing and scrubbing I thought I might have to throw away my area rug because I could still smell it and it had dried days before my order for this bottle arrived. But sure enough, I poured it on the area where the urine odor was still strong and now it’s gone, so it apparently works great even if the stain isn’t fresh.
It does have some shortcomings: this product works best on fresh stains. If you’re moving into a former hoarder’s abode with crystallized urine and ruined floorboards then it’s not going to be sufficient but if things are in decent shape right now and you want to keep them that way it’s perfect.
A: To remove the presence of gasoline fumes, locate the source of the odor. Once the source is found, blot the area to remove any excess gasoline, then apply white vinegar and baking soda to the area to absorb the odor. If the smell is on clothing or a person’s body, use vanilla essence or lemon juice to remove the odor.
Vacuum floors and upholstery. Dirty carpets and furniture can harbor bad smells that make your living areas stink. To remove dust and smelly particles, vacuum all the carpets in the house with a wide brush attachment. To remove dusty and musty smells from furniture, vacuum all upholstered furniture using an upholstery attachment.
If your cat pees in your potted plant you can deter them by placing some pine cones on top of the soil. Commercial cat repellants are also available. Here are some home remedy tips to try to Stop Cat Peeing in Potted Plants
When caring for a pup that’s prone to accidents, some find that the best carpet dog odor eliminators are versatile and gentle enough for use on linens, upholstery and more. Many of these pet odor eliminators contain enzymes that break down odor-causing ammonia within their urine and waste. These products can help keep your fabrics from unwanted alterations by your furry friend.
Decomposition odors can be caused by many different things from the common spill of a beverage that penetrated too deep for traditional cleaning methods or from bodily fluids such as blood left over from unfortunate events such as trauma or crime scenes.  These odors are not only unpleasant but may provide evidence of health hazards such as bacteria or harmful gases such as H²S more commonly called “sewer gas.” This gas, commonly derived from the decomposition of organic materials and bodily fluids can be toxic at certain levels. Decomposition odors may also indicate the presence of dangerous airborne pathogens.

Well consider we clean our ears with peroxide and it can be used as a mouthwash. I don’t know the research but on our ears and in mouths and with a skunk smell do you really have a laundry list of options?

As air cycles through the air cleaner, the CADR measures the volume of air actually moving through the system, and the percentage and size of the particles being removed. CADR tests for pollutants like tobacco smoke, dust and pollen. These tests determine, in cubic feet per minute (CFM), how effective the air cleaner is at removing specific pollutants.
Chances are you were using a store bought cleaner that was a brand name in conjunction with a cleaning machine. These cleaners are soap based and as a result, do not remove the odor. Instead, what happens with these types of cleaners is that they attract dirt. They also do not have anything in them that works as an antibacterial agent to break down and remove the odor. You need to use a cleaner that will destroy and kill germs and bacteria that cause the odor. Genesis 950 is my go to cleaner. It is by far the best pet stain remover I have ever found.
3. When the area has dried or almost dried sprinkle a handful or two of baking soda over the soiled area. Mix half a cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide with a teaspoon of detergent. Plain liquid dishwashing detergent like Palmolive is quite suitable. Do not use dishwasher detergent like Cascade.  Put on a pair of plastic gloves and slowly pour the hydrogen peroxide and detergent mixture over the baking soda. Work the dissolving baking soda into the carpet with your fingers or with a scrubbing brush. Allow the area to dry completely and then vacuum thoroughly.
Close off the affected area. Cats are naturally attracted by the enzymes in urine and will be drawn to urinate in areas that have previously been urinated in. Cover the area loosely with something like aluminum foil or an upside-down laundry basket. This will not only keep the cat from attempting to pee in the same spot while the cleaner does its job but also keep any members of the household from stepping on the area.
After you’re done cleaning, shine a black light on a troublesome spot. It will show if cat urine is still present in the area. Sometimes it may seem like the urine is gone, but it can crystallize and stay present in carpet fibers. A black light shows the size of the stain that isn’t visible to the human eye or picked up by the human nose.
We recently bought a repurposed cabinet made out of old barn wood. Once we got it home we really think it may have been sprayed. They had two cats where they live. I can’t see where the damage is. How do we clean this without ruining the barn wood
The smell in the grout has not returned. I find some products mask the odor for a while, but this one is not a mask. The company owner told me that the formula separates the bonds of the molecular compounds that give off bad odors. There is a fresh smell to this product that lasts maybe a few hours. Then there is no smell at all.
Finally, to ensure that guests are not smelling anything you aren’t, we recommend freshening up carpets and upholstery with the gentle, but mighty OdorKlenz Source Odor Treatment. It can be used as a powerful spot clean when accidents happen but also works well to keep odors at bay with seasonal cleanings. It is non-abrasive so it will not damage the fabrics in your home and it does not rely on perfumes which merely mask odors and fade over time. Our Source Odor Treatment truly eliminates odors at their source!
Spray enzyme cleaner over the area. Non-toxic and effective, enzymatic cleaners work by breaking down stains into their basic elements, eliminating the compounds that create smells and stains. Using an enzymatic cleaner is the best way to help break down the proteins left over from the urine, removing the smell as well as the impulse for the pet to urinate in the same spot again.
The best method to to remove the dog urine is to use a wet/dry vacuum. If you don’t own one an alternative method is to place several layers of paper towel over the wet urine area and tread on it so as to soak up as much of the dog urine as you possibly can. You may have to repeat this several times until no more dog urine can be soaked up.
Most enzymatic cleaners need to be kept on a wet area for several hours. However, some might use a different process, so be sure to read the instructions on the label. If you’re cleaning wool carpet, make sure the cleaner is wool-safe.
