“remove rat urine smell from car -what gets rid of dog pee smell”

It might sound strange to think that something as pungent as vinegar removes odors, but it does. Some pet odors, like a dog’s body funk that seeps into your linens or couch, are the result of alkaline chemicals, which the acids in vinegar neutralize, just as baking soda neutralizes acid odors.
I hope this vinegar method will work on days old cat urine on carpet. I couldn’t figure out exactly where the smell was coming from at first and finally discovered a couple spots in the closet! I don’t even know which cat’s been doing this, or why, after all these years.
This tool is universal and helps to remove the stain and odor of dogs pee. The most effective way is to buy the cheapest soap which does not have any additives or added smells. The best effect can be achieved if the soap is used immediately on the fresh dog pee. Soap is also one of the best removals of bacteria and dirt from the textile surfaces.
2. A friend of mine gave me a concoction of orange essential oils, and tea tree oil to spray to keep her off the bed. No word of a lie, I sprayed to moisten the area and she jumped up and layed down in it. It didn’t even phase her! She urinated on the bed.
Nobody can argue that bleach can make just about any bathtub in America look clean and inviting. However, many families are approaching the green cleaning movement with an alert attitude. Not only are they concerned with the food they are presenting their children with » More
Bleach is another very common tool which is used to remove the traces of the dog toilet. Before implementing bleach on any surface make a test and make sure that the textile is capable to survive after this chemical ingredient. Especially it is important to test the surface in case you have very expensive carpet. Basically you need to try the mixture on the very small surface which is not that visible before implementing this method.
I went ahead and scrubbed the baseboards with white vinegar. Then I found the peroxide/water suggestion. I tried that. Now I have a strong odor of vinegar in the room. I have opened the windows to let it air out. Not sure, but I feel like I have made things worse.
We usually use Nature’s Miracle for our little accidents, but this is a recipe I’d like to try in the future. Fortunately most of our accidents are small puppy accidents and only end up on the carpet or tile floor. I’m glad I haven’t had to deal with a mattress stain…yet…

If the area still looks stained after drying out, use a high-quality carpet stain remover (our picks are below). Tip: The Humane Society urges you not to use heavy cleaning chemicals, like ammonia or vinegar. They actually don’t remove the odor, and the strong scent of the chemicals may entice your dog to mark “his” area again (learn more about why dogs mark their territory).

Cleaning cat pee out of carpets and large rugs that can’t be thrown in the wash is a different game. While the agitation from the washing machine helps to throw the urine out of the fabric, so to speak, cleaning carpet is tricky. This is because, if you’re not careful, you’ll just sort of rub the pee in more. Thankfully, if the urine hasn’t been there for too long, you may be able to save the carpet—or at least prevent the stain from soaking too deeply into the baseboard. Try the following before ripping any of your Berber up:
Really helpful! The light sounds especially useful, as I have mostly black and other dark fabrics. Accidents are hard to spot! Our dog doesn’t actually pee in the floor, he is just one of those dogs that sprinkles when he is happy (and excited, scared, upset, sleeping, etc!)
Replace the cat’s litter box more often. Cats like clean litter boxes, just as humans like clean bathrooms. If you’re neglecting your cat’s needs when it comes to offering a clean litter box, he may find it harder to resist urinating on your sofa or carpet.

That’s why we need the best cat urine remover for the job. But choosing a urine remover depends on lots of factors, considering you and your cat’s interest, the material that you’re going to apply on, and others.
We have a consumer Hoover “steam” cleaner and have repeatedly gone over the affected areas on several occasions, but can’t get rid of the odor. Is there any hope for getting rid of the smell? We don’t want to replace the carpet yet, as it’s likely she’ll keep repeating the behavior.
We love our four-legged friends dearly…but not so much the stains and messes they leave behind. We can’t blame them really-they don’t come into the world knowing they have to go outdoors or in the litter box every time they have to go potty! There’s no way to avoid the mess, no matter how well trained your friend is, but by making your own cleaners you can avoid lasting stains and extra money spent on store-bought stain removers.
C) YES – spay/neuter is essential for happy, healthy cats! Desexing your cat preventspecific many behavior issues (see Jenn above) and prevents several types of cancer. It also allows your cat to focus on loving you and your family rather than being driven wild by their hormones (imagine being a teenager your whole life).
Thanks for the comment, Art Lover. However, I have two 12-year-old cats that I’ve had since they were tiny kittens. I had them both declawed and they’ve never had issues with their litter boxes or their feet. I won’t start a debate on declawing here, because those can get ugly, but I highly recommend declawing.
Hey I’ve washed my clothes twice with my detergent and a powder stain remover and color booster, it got rid of the smell but since my little Kitten got it on whites is it still safe to wash those whites with bleach now that they’ve been washed twice with just detergents and no bleach? I don’t wanna go and do this and then end up on the 5’o’clock news because I wanted nice clean whites lol
Thanks Dreamhowl, I hope Murdoch, my JRT is not embarrassed that his picture is being shared across the Internet, portraying him as a slightly incontinent elderly terrier! It will do his street cred no good at all!
Sometimes we are so distracted by the fact that dog puddle appeared again on our favorite carpet that we immediately forget about all the tips and secret methods. Some of us start screaming at the pet and the others just throw the carpet out on the balcony until it will dry out. Unfortunately liquid will only evaporate but not the smell.
However effective you are at spot cleaning those ‘little accidents’, there is always going to be a time when you want to clean the whole carpet. This could also be the case if you have moved into a new home where pets lived previously.

Pet odor results based on testing with the most common odor sources found in dog and cat urine. Pet urine bacteria results based on Chem-Dry’s HCE cleaning process and a sanitizer, combined with P.U.R.T. All bacteria results include use of sanitizer. Figures are an average across multiple tests.
After you’re done cleaning, shine a black light on a troublesome spot. It will show if cat urine is still present in the area. Sometimes it may seem like the urine is gone, but it can crystallize and stay present in carpet fibers. A black light shows the size of the stain that isn’t visible to the human eye or picked up by the human nose.
