“remove urine smell from clothes +cat urine odor removal”

Unlike cleaning carpet, cleaning non-carpet surfaces requires a non-ammonia and non-vinegar based detergent/cleaning product. It can be homemade, commercial or all-natural. Note: Make sure the product does not contain bleach, because mixing bleach with the ammonia in cat urine can create dangerous gases.
Cat urine is not all that different from other animals’ urine, but what gives cat urine such a bad smell is that the urine is usually left unnoticed until it becomes a problem. Cats have a propensity to mark their territory outside the litter box, be it on the carpet or in hidden corners.  After a while, the bacterium in the urine decomposes and gives off an ammonia-like odor characteristic of stale old urine. The second stage of the decomposition process emits mercaptans, compounds that give skunk spray its characteristic bad smell. Older animals have kidneys that have lost some of their efficiency and, as a consequence, older animals tend to have the worst smelling urine.
For more stubborn stains and aromas, there are several green enzymatic cleaners you can find to spray on your carpet or, if you have older stains to tackle, consider renting a carpet-cleaning machine from a local store. Rinse the tank out well before use and don’t use the chemical-heavy cleanser that’s often sold with the rental. Instead, Bond recommends using a natural cleaner or a combination of white vinegar and water.
After you’ve successfully removed the dog pee smell from your home, the last thing you want is to have to start all over again. Dogs may return to the scene of the pee crime if they can still smell their own personal scent, so be sure to clean You can also make the area unavailable by placing furniture or a rug over the spot.
Cat litter, dog litter, wild bird food, live & frozen food and oversized items may incur an additional per-item shipping & handling fee or surcharge. Additional fees may apply and will be noted on the Product Detail page and/or Shopping Cart.
We were going to go to Petsmart right now and see if they have any products for the carpets and vinyl flooring. We bought a Bissell Big Green Machine. Anyone use that with Oxiclean? The directions say only use Bissell cleaners, etc, but I don’t know if I really have to follow that advice. Although I will if I don’t hear otherwise.
The Large Hard Surface Cleaning System II is designed for the removal of BOTH stains &/or odors. It removes dog urine, cat urine & human urine in hard surfaces such as hardwood floors, tile, grout, concrete, etc.
If you’re tired of constantly cleaning up after your cat, or you fear that the urine has soaked down to the carpet pad or throughout your hardwood floor, call a professional. Granted, it will cost more, but it is likely to be more effective.
I am so thankful for this stuff. We have 2 bigger dogs ( that aren’t the best smelling bless their hearts) and 3 cats with 2 very stinky litter boxes. This completely gets rid of anything gross like odors. LOVE THIS
Products like Nature’s Miracle are also costlier and messier in the long run. Because you have to saturate a pet spot in order for Nature’s Miracle to work, you buy more and wait up to two weeks for an area to dry while living with the odor of both the urine and the chemicals. Then, if it didn’t work, you have to start all over again.
A: Many cooks suggest that opening the windows as one way to get rid of cooking odors while preparing meals. There are also other options, such as brewing coffee, baking something aromatic, making a simmering potpourri and leaving out a bowl of vinegar to eliminate fish odor, onion odor, garlic, cabbage and a variety of other smells that tend to linger after cooking.
I would like to thank you for this amazing remedy! I have two male dogs that were having a marking war in my living room and I like everyone else here had used countless products to get rid of the smell to no avail. The final straw was today when I cleaned my carpets and could smell nothing but the urine smell in that area. Then I looked up “natural home remedies for pet stains” and came up with your website. The solution of peroxide and dish detergent on top of the baking soda hasn’t even dried yet and my house smells WONDERFUL again. I will no longer be embarrassed to have people over to hang out!!
Choose a remover with a nice smell that suits both you and kittens. I really like an odor remover that has a mild fragrance, not those fake products that use overly strong smell to cover the odor. I don’t mean all products that have a strong smell are fake but you should be careful when testing them. Fake ones will only fool your nose with a stronger smell but it’ll go away soon.
Claire is a lover of life, the natural world, and wild blueberries. On the weekend you can find her fiddling in the garden, playing with her dogs, and enjoying the great outdoors with her horse. Claire is very open-minded, ask her anything 🙂 Meet Claire
Also anecdotal, but I’ve had the best success with Simple Solution. It works really well at getting out both the stain and the smell, and even works on older, set stains. (Though you may have to apply twice in those situations.) – Roger Mar 17 ’14 at 14:31
Does anybody have suggestions for removing cat odor from wood floors that have been peed on? We have sanded 1/4 inch off and resealed but it still permeates. I think we will have to kilz and cover. It is the most vile smell ever. I don’t even have cats and cannot get rid of the aroma. It makes me want to vomit. I have tried all of the enzymatic cleaners, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, bleach and mouthwash solutions. At this point, I am just wanting to cover up the smell to make it tolerable to live in in the meantime. Help!
Larger beds will likely have a removable cover on them. Wash the cover in the washing machine. To target odors in the stuffing, sprinkle the stuffing with a bit of baking soda. Vacuum off the baking soda, then replace the clean cover. A clean, odor-free pet bed awaits.

The instructions say to dilute the spot with water and blot up repeatedly… I understand this will allow you to use less Rocco and facilitate Rocco to get deeper into the carpet via the dampness. However, I am lazy and short of time… so I like simply spraying it on the spot… it takes more to do it my way, but it works all the same. It is almost too good to be true.
Try different litters. Your cat may not like the texture of your current litter, so find out what he does like. Line up a few disposable litter boxes next to your cat’s regular box, each with a different brand and/or texture of litter, and see which one your cat likes best.
On rugs, carpet, upholstery, etc. again pick up the mess as best you can spray with straight hydrogen peroxide. Blot the wet spot up and rub up the stain and odor. If necessary treat again by spraying area with peroxide and sprinkling baking soda over that. Let dry and vacuum. Works for me. Hope it works for you too
White vinegar is great to get rid of some odors, though it isn’t always effective against cat and dog pee. Used straight from the bottle or diluted with water, white vinegar will help neutralize pet urine odors, and it won’t leave behind a sour vinegar smell.
When I moved into this house the carpets smelt of cat pee which 2 of my dogs peed over them, not wanting to change the carpets until I decorate I used a steam cleaner on them, my dogs no longer pee there and I can’t smell any either. May be worth a try with a steam cleaner. I have found the small hand held steam cleaners better than those for the floors.
A: The main causes for smelly kitchen drains are small to large blockages that are caused by food, hair and debris. Additional causes for a smelly drain include partially dissolved food and grease caught in the drain trap and backed up sewer gas. Additionally, it is a common mistake to believe that the smell is coming from the drain pipe when it is simply food and debris caught in the garbage disposal.
Rainbow Services offers an odor control and removal service that is safe, clean, natural, non-toxic and utilizes state of the art technology. We do not use deodorizers, ozone or air fresheners which only temporarily mask odors. We permanently eliminate all odors at the molecular level, even smoking, curry and pets. Odors permeate inside walls, ceilings, carpets, under padding, sub-floors, etc. Simply masking the odors will not solve
I have found hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dishsoap to work so well that the cats don’t go back to the same place twice, or sniff at places they’ve peed after treatment: a cat’s nose is the gold standard for judging whether cat pee smell is gone or not. Getting it to smell clean to a human nose is only half the battle if you don’t want repeat toilet visits to your carpet or furniture.
If the smells wafting from your cat’s litter box aren’t enough to make your guests turn tail and head out the front door, any accidents on floors, mattresses or upholstery surely will. There are products that promise to remove cat urine odor, but use vinegar and save your pennies.
