Aveho® Odor Removal Technology mimics processes found in nature, where there are strong bonds between metal atoms and amino acids. These amino acids can break down to form numerous odors. Aveho interacts with these odors through its natural tendency to bind with nitrogen, oxygen and sulfur (the smelliest stuff in the world). This interaction removes the odors from the air.
Some pets hate the smell of vinegar, even after it is has dried. Vinegar can also help to mask odor for your own nose, so a few drops of this over the affected area may help to deter future use by the pet.
The smell will usually lead you directly to the area where your cat has urinated, though you might have to feel around with your hands for a wet spot if it is on carpet or cloth-covered furniture, or a sticky spot if it has dried on tile, linoleum or hardwood floors.[2]
Recommendations for home-made formulas to clean cat urine stains are widely circulated on the Internet, and typically include some combination of vinegar, hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Of course, many people unfamiliar with the problem of cleaning cat urine stains simply try to clean up cat pee as they would any other stain, only to find out later it didn’t work. In fact, using traditional household cleaners on cat urine actually “sets” the stain. This makes the stain even more difficult to remove with proper enzyme cleaners.
Cover the stain with paper towels or rags and walk lightly over or place something heavy on top to soak up any excess liquid. Sprinkle a generous handful of baking soda over stain when no more liquid can be pulled up, and mix together ½ cup of 3% hydrogen peroxide and 1 teaspoon of dish liquid. Slowly pour the solution over the stain and baking soda. Gently scrub the mixture into the carpet fibers with a scrub-brush or cloth, and then let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Vacuum the area thoroughly. For tough stains, repeat the above steps.

The vinegar will neutralize the ammonia and hydrogen peroxide is a powerful oxidizer capable of killing bacteria which cause the urine smells. Baking soda is a well known deodorizer which absorbs odors. Sprinkle it on your carpet monthly then vacuum up to keep your carpet smelling fresh all the time.
Whether you have a pet or a toddler, chances are that you are going to have a urine stain on your mattress. Getting those stains off (and particularly getting the smell out) can be difficult. There is however, a really effective and really inexpensive method for removing urine from mattresses, clothing, carpet and just about anything else that you may need.
A malodor is another way of saying “bad odor”.  These are often made from molecules that contain nitrogen, oxygen, and/or sulfur.  Aveho will selectively target these compounds, and will bind them, or convert them to substances that don’t smell so offensive.
Fast forward to 2017 and this same cat is still with me. I am almost certain this cat will outlive me and I am only 34. This is the last cat I will ever own. Due to her age, attitude, and possibly her political views, she decided to start peeing on the carpet. I immediately google “life span of indoor cats.” I realized I have at least 2 years left but maybe 5 years. I then take this 11 pound ball of fur to the vet to pay a lot of money for a diagnosis that my cat is healthy and a brat. Both of us come home hating each other. The peeing continues. Below is how I handled the situation in which she is still alive and I am slightly more unhinged than before. Several products will be mentioned as I am copying and pasting this review to all the companies who are responsible in allowing this cat to currently live through her natural life with me.
I recently moved into a new apartment and sequestered my cats in the guest bathroom while we unpacked. Now the bathroom smells even though the cats didn’t seem to have any accidents. What would you suggest?
This bio-enzymatic formula from Nature’s Miracle is said to eliminate odor, stains, and sticky residue from carpets, furniture, clothing, and more. It is guaranteed to permanently eliminate stains and odors, so it is definitely worth a try! The self-proclaimed urine destroyer also works to discourage re-soiling due to its dual-action, odor-control system that destroys odors on contact.

Yes your mom is right but if you follow the instructions above you will only have to smell it once more, rather than having the smell constantly. I would recommend you air the room if you can as the smell can be sometimes deceive where the cat has urinated then follow the instruction above
Bubba’s calls their enzyme cleaner “the pet stain and odor TERMINATOR” because it destroys stubborn urine smells for good. It eats away urine bacteria to prevent re-marking. You can spot-treat with Bubba’s, or add it to a load of laundry to wash dog bets and blankets stained with pee.
Assess the damage. If the urine is old (as in, you just discovered the accident two days after the deed was done), throw the pile into a bag – paper or plastic will do – and douse the clothes in baking soda to help lift the urine. Seal the bag by either tying it or taping it shut. Let the clothes (or curtains, rug, etc.) chill like this overnight. If the urine is fresh, though, just head straight to the washing machine.
I have a cat and his litterbox gets a little smelly. This eliminates the smell instantly! Its like a miracle. It also works well for “the wet dog smell” that will linger around the house when my dogs get wet and lay on the couch. This works really well. Over spraying it can be overwhelming though.
My husband tried steam cleaning with “distilled viniger, equal amount of water & some lavender oil” a recipe he got from Google! I came home 3 days later from out of town, not knowing he had done this and the smell was horrible when I walked in. Thought the dogs had pee’d and come to find out it was viniger!!!! We have white’ish Berber carpet in LR/DR….stains, well, still there! Is it because of the Berber? Does anyone have any other suggestions for me? The stains are because the dog is big, can’t bathe him everyday!! Any suggestions would be graciously appreviated. Thanks in advance 😉
The service told me they would come back out believe it or not – for a 3rd time. (Free of charge) They are sending someone else. I guess they are going to blacklight everything again and if nothing is showing up on the surface, they will perform some kind of moisture testing. Told me that if it is in the pad of the carpet they are able to pull up those areas and replace sections of the pad. Really hoping the carpet doesn’t need to go. Nothing is visible and it is certainly much better, but I am ready for my house to smell fresh again. (and be sanitary of course) Hopefully the third visit will be a charm. They have actually been very understanding – thank goodness.
