“what gets cat pee smell out of carpet |pet cleaner”

Clean old messes thoroughly. Cats are creatures of habit. No matter how many times you say “No! That’s a bad kitty!” your odorous little friend will continue to think it’s ok to utilize the new pee pad until they can no longer smell their own vile urine on that spot.
We have only had good results with the enzyme based Natures Miracle product in the red sprsy bottle, unless it has been changed . Their aerosol can carpet product uses a strong masking perfume abd we do not recommend that version.
I adopted a puppy and he decided to pee on the top of my plush couch, I have tried and tried to get the pee and smell out. But nothing seems to be working and I don’t know what else to do, I have tried Pirey multi purpose cleaner and I have tried Woolite pet urine eliminator. Aside from trying warm soap and water to try and clean it, I am getting married in September and would really like to get this taken care of before then. I don’t want my guests coming over to my home with a couch, that smells like my dog has made it his personal potty and I haven’t tried to fix it. I don’t know what else to do about the issue so if, anyone has anything that will do the job please help me.
Use fans to increase circulation and get fresh air flowing. Fans are great for boosting the refreshing power of clean air. When you have the windows open, turn on ceiling and standing fans in the house to help create a bigger breeze and get the air moving.
Chances are the urine has soaked into the cushion pad, so spot-cleaning the covers is unlikely to be helpful. This may be a case of having to throw the cushions away. As a last resort see if you can unpick the cover from the inner, wash the cover, and sew the cover back onto a new cushion pad bought from a craft store.
Wipe up and blot. Using paper towels, blot up as much of the urine as possible if the surface is fabric or carpet. With these surfaces, there is a danger of the urine soaking into the fibers of the material. Use a gentle dabbing motion to blot up the urine.[4]
If the vomit was on the carpet, after wiping it with a damp rag, sprinkle baking soda over the stain and let it sit for an hour to absorb the moisture. If the stain is on a hard floor, proceed to step 3.
On hardwood or laminate floors, use paper towels, an absorbent cloth, or a mop to sop up the pee. I love these reusable, super-absorbent cleaning cloths. Just throw them in the washing machine after use.
Sometimes we are so distracted by the fact that dog puddle appeared again on our favorite carpet that we immediately forget about all the tips and secret methods. Some of us start screaming at the pet and the others just throw the carpet out on the balcony until it will dry out. Unfortunately liquid will only evaporate but not the smell.
Baking soda, or sodium bicarbonate, is a weak base chemical. As such, it neutralizes many acids, which are the cause of most odors, including any your pet can create on his own. This means that, unlike topical fragrances, baking soda does not merely mask odors, it destroys an acid’s ability to make an odor.
Now fast forward a bit-my stepdaughter and husband and their menagerie moved in…..sigh. The week after last Christmas. So, now here it is almost April and I have noticed a lot of cat pee smell downstairs on the brand new carpet. I had the carpet cleaned and after the floor dried, I could still smell it. I got down on my hands and knees and the carpet smells great again. So, I checked the baseboard is sticky and reeks of cat urine. How do I get that smell out and not hurt the carpet? More enzymatic cleaner or do you have any other ideas?
Rub the hydrogen peroxide/dish soap mixture into the carpet and scrub the fibers, but blot it quickly so it doesn’t take the coloring out of the carpet. For hard floors, it may be better to put this mixture in a spray bottle and spray the area and wipe it.
As for rented apartments.. mmm keep cleaning.. or ask your landlord if you can replace the carpet with something else. Its in their interests to say yes really because if it smells of pee when you move out, though they will take your deposit, they still have to get a replacement put in..
Something else you can try is vinegar. It’s actually really good at getting rid of carpet smells. Basically the vinegar smell replaces the smell of ammonia from the urine, and then you can easily dissipate the vinegar smell with an open window and a few minutes. Just makes sure to use a shop-vac or something to get all the moisture out of the carpet so it doesn’t mold underneath.

1. Just because you can’t see the stain, doesn’t mean you can’t smell the stain. Deodorizing must be part of the equation. Once again, baking soda and a mixture of detergent and water will help minimize odors.
Enzymes cleaner, soap and water, vinegar – none of these work. We’ve tried for years with all of these but our dog keeps going back to the same spots so obviously, the smell is attracting him. It drives me crazy.
Unlike typical cleaning products, odor eliminating solutions are specifically formulated to remove tough smells like urine left by pets. For these products to work, they have to fight the specific bacteria found in animals’ urine – the cause of smell.
This doesn’t look like your average dog toy, because it isn’t! The Outward Hound Puzzle Cube is an interactive puzzle toy for pups that enjoy squeaking and chasing tennis balls. It stimulates your dog’s mind and gets him up and active.
The whole house has a faint kennel smell, even the morning after I wash all the throw rugs and mop all the floors (he’s too small to be marking furniture yet, so that’s not it) and her room positively reeks, but I can see no signs of missed accidents. His pen is made from old pallets, but it is just a two sided frame, and he is only in it when we are gone, so even if he has managed to pee on it, it shouldn’t smell THAT strongly, should it? If it could, can I fix it, or do I need to rebuild it with new, painted or varnished wood? What can I do?! I love cats, but won’t have them inside because I simply can’t stand that smell, so this is driving me crazy, like, no matter what I do, my house seems dirty! Help!!
While it’s not a standalone product, if you’ve invested in a carpet cleaner then you’re going to be quite happy with Bissell 2X Pet Stain & Odor remover. It’s also a lot cheaper than most standalone options.
Technicians also have access to several odor removal products capable of penetrating surfaces to neutralize the unpleasant smell thoroughly. Every material has its own physical properties that determine which substances to use for effective odor elimination. Trained professionals can find the best product for each material, from carpet and fabric to wood and ceramic. Once the surface has been treated, trained technicians are able to seal the surface to trap what scent does remain. Foul smells are created by airborne particles that can be sealed away for good.
When urine dries, it leaves behind crystals in the carpet fibre which attract water – so wee stains in carpet tend to always be a bit damp from the moisture in the air.. which means that they always pong a bit.
A malodor is another way of saying “bad odor”.  These are often made from molecules that contain nitrogen, oxygen, and/or sulfur.  Aveho will selectively target these compounds, and will bind them, or convert them to substances that don’t smell so offensive.
I wonder if it would help to set up a few hiding spots (boxes with blankets/towels in them) in your room so she has somewhere to hide and feel safe? I would try keeping the box as closed up and dark as possible, with just a cat-sized opening cut into it, and with the opening facing a wall. I think it’d be worth a shot. And if it doesn’t help, you’re only out the cost of a free cardboard box.
We have 4 cats. 3 of them used the litter boxes well, until we were forced to take in a new kitten. He was not trained as we were told. Our older female started doing the territorial peeing EVERY WHERE in the house. Spots the new kitten was peeing in as well as on rugs, clothing and the bedding and mattresses. 2 of the cats decided staying outside all the time was the best answer for dealing with the new kitten. Our older female, even a year later, despises this kitten and will purposefully pee on everything right in front of us as if she is still angry that her space was taken. Yes, she was spoiled from the beginning of her life. First it was just peeing, but now the kitten has come to age to be in heat..spraying n peeing ALL OVER , wherever he can, which makes our older female even worse so that now she is pooping every where as well. We have a HUGE house that is mostly carpeted, the house is old so the floor underneath is very old wood, which I am positive is soaked to every fiber. We have tried every known remedy online and offline..nothing helps. The kitten is not well enough to be neutered yet, he had a very bad fight with the female and got hurt so is still healing, but we cannot afford to re carpet the entire house or replace the entire flooring (we’re already putting out money for a new roof). The lady who owned the house before us had a dog, she was old and disabled so we are fairly sure no one ever helped her clean these carpets. There are certain spots that they pee n poop worse than others, like right underneath heaters. We think the older female is doingb this mostly out of behavioural issues. Weve had these cats for a long time and love them, but are ready to let them go because of how badly they have ruined the house. PLEASE HELP!!
Hi, so we got 2, 3 month old, kittens about a month ago. Initially they had zero trouble finding and using the litter box. I decided to try to potty train them. I’ve done quite a bit of research on it but despite reading several articles that say not to rush them, I thought my cats were smarter than others 🙂 I was wrong! I have now realized the error of my ways and feel that I have made many many steps to correct my errors. My biggest issue was changing from the old-school cat litter to the flushable wheat kind too fast. I have given up on even trying to potty train until I can get both of the kittens to use the litter box every single time. I think it is only one of the cats that is having any trouble, but he either pees or poops near the litter box or he pees in my bedroom in the corner. I have tried several cleaning solutions but I’m planning on using your recipe today to completely rid the smell. If I am able to get out the urine smell, is that enough to deter him from using it again? Or do you have any other suggestions? I clean their litter box out twice a day and I did some research and found that some cats don’t like a lot of litter in the litter box, it gives them a quicksand feeling, so I have a small pan next to the larger one with only a small amount of litter in it. I still came home from work last night to find poop in the bathtub next to the litter box. Please help!! Thank you!!
This stuff is seriously magic. I use this stuff for multiple pet stenches around the house including an anal gland incident. If you’ve never smelled anal glands….you’re lucky! Anyways, we had this little anal gland stain on the couch which I cleaned with actual cleaner but the smell remained! A few spritzes of this stuff and *poof* smell gone and still hasn’t come back after about a month. I also use this for when my cat goes #2 and doesn’t bury it well enough. I literally spray it in the litter box and in a few minute the stench subsides. 5 stars!

Remove mold from hard surfaces. Mold has a particular smell that can permeate your entire home. It’s important for your health and the smell of your home to deal with any mold problems, such as in the shower, on tiles, in sinks, or in other damp areas of the house. To kill mold:[4]
Here’s how to clean vomit from carpet. The acid in vomit can stain a surface fast, so wipe it up as soon as you can. Use a dustpan or scraper to remove the larger chunks. Blot with a towel to clean up the moisture. Mix a solution of 2 cups of warm water, 1 tablespoon of salt, 1 tablespoon of liquid dish soap and 1/2 cup of vinegar. Dip a soft cloth or sponge into the mixture and apply to the soiled area. Blot lightly. You may need to do this a couple of times to remove a tough stain. When the stain is gone, remove cleaner by putting a cloth dipped in clean water on the area. Blot dry with a towel.
Whew sorry for that novel-I really could go on about potty-training. I hope at least some part of it proves useful. Stick with it and he’ll figure it out! Feel free to ask anymore questions you have-hopefully I didn’t just confuse you more! 😀
One of the nice things about this product is that it has Scotchguard built right into it, meaning that you get the cleaning and odor removal followed by a protective layer that will stay in place on the offending rug.
