“what kills cat urine odor |how to remove dog urine smell”

Vacuum the soiled area. Vacuuming the soiled area removes both the urine particles and the deodorizer you applied. Extracting wet vacs work the best for this since they saturate the carpet and then vacuum the water back into the vacuum’s tank.[6] In a pinch, you can use your regular vacuum; it just won’t be as effective as the wet vac.

Of course, some people do not like the scent of this spray, describing it as cheap perfume that only masks the odor. Others claim that this product does not work to make stains disappear, and that it is a complete waste of time. However, these people are few and far between, so it is definitely worth a try if you have set in stains and are looking for a promising solution!

In my experience this has never worked we had a dog that was Notorious for going to the bathroom inside the house and nothing that we tried could get the smell to go away even when I was just trying to get rid of a simple dog smell that was not related to urine I feel like there is more hype over the products and their needs to be and you’re selling the name not a quality it be from pet urine or a spill, once you have thoroughly removed all residue and think you have it all, place several layers of white paper towel on the freshly cleaned wet area. Next, weight the paper towel down. I use a large piece of ceramic/porcelain tile, and let it sit for about 48 hours. You will be amazed at what dries up into the paper towel instead of drying in the top fibers of your carpet.

I’ve been looking for how to remove dog urine smell from carpet and think I found the answer. My family grew up using Resolve and I remember it not working. However, when I got married my husband swore by it, so I gave it another chance. They must’ve changed their formula because it actually works! We’ve only had to use it a couple times, once when our dog went potty inside and another time when I spilled watermelon juice on our WHITE chair (shhhh don’t tell my husband). Thankfully both stains are gone and everything looks (and smells) great!
Remove the cushion cover and wash it in apple cider vinegar with cold water — completely saturate the foam cushion with apple cider vinegar as well. It works best to place the cushion outside if possible to allow to dry. There’s something about the fresh air that helps get rid of the smell. Repeat the entire process as necessary. As for the cushion cover, NEVER throw it in the dryer. The heat will lock the cat pee smell in, and you will never get it out. Smell the cover after washing, and if you still smell anything, rewash it. If not, let it air dry.
I had this same problem with my elderly miniature poodle. The only thing that has worked is a mild sedative, Acepromazine, at bedtime and putting a diaper on her. I might have to keep a diaper on her 24/7 because even though I watch her almost continually she still urinates in the house occasionally. The night time solution came after consultation with her vet. I never tried putting her in a crate, beside the bed at night, this might work. Since your dog is young as compared to my 15 year old dog, I would try the crate thing first. Good luck!
A baking soda paste with some essential oils (baking soda, a few drops of essential oil, enough water to form a paste) gently spread/rubbed over the surface and allowed to sit for 30 minutes, wiped up, and then followed by a vinegar spritz, is useful if none of the above work for you (all the above can be used on old or fresh stains/odors.)
Sounds good, but what about any discoloration damage to carpet if “enough strong peroxide” is used? You say use 30% H202, so is the 40 volume (assume 40%) clear developer from beauty supply too strong?
White vinegar is great to get rid of some odors, though it isn’t always effective against cat and dog pee. Used straight from the bottle or diluted with water, white vinegar will help neutralize pet urine odors, and it won’t leave behind a sour vinegar smell.
Ashley, it won’t ruin your clothes- has never ruined mine! They’re pretty gentle cleansers. Once you’ve efficiently removed the ammonia from them (with the vinegar and baking soda) you might even try an extra wash using OxyClean. I love that stuff and it’s never failed to remove nasty odors. I just don’t know that I would mix it with straight cat urine, so that’s why I suggest using it after thoroughly rinsing the items first.
Hydroxyl Generators are unique because they work around the clock in occupied areas. Unlike ozone generators, hydroxyl generators can be used in occupied spaces.  It’s safe for people and pets to stay in the area that’s being treated. If you have a lingering pet odor such as litter box smell or pet bed areas, consider a hydroxyl generator to continually treat the air and remove the odor causing molecules around the clock.
I used this recipe for Dog Urine Removal. I have four dogs and it worked! I couldn’t believe it…smell was gone and it didn’t smell odd like it does with store purchased products…thank you very much. Read all Testimonials
I have good cats but I rescued one who proceeded to mark a room where the previous owners cat smell was. I tried all I could to re-train her, get rid of the smell but it just got worse & worse. She’s been re-homed.
Why cats choose to do certain things like eat houseplants, destroy fine china, sleep in cardboard boxes and very large shoes, and pee on $90 jeans is beyond human logic. That’s okay, because we don’t need to understand it. All we really need to understand is how to fix it. And clean it. Learn how to do that in this article. And please, if I’ve offended you with my less-than-favorable language towards felines leave a comment.
Trish, most enzymatic cleaners work by supporting the growth of the naturally occurring bacteria that will, over time, break down the urine, and thus, the odor. So yeah, it is possible that it’s still working. However, I’d call them back on like…Friday. At least that way you’ve given it a full week. The thing is, you paid for a service that they said they could do, and if it doesn’t work, the alternative is to tear up the carpet and then you’ve completely wasted all the money you spent on the cleaning service plus you’re gonna be spending more. Before you call them, however, bring other people in the room (as embarrassing as it may be) to see if they smell it, too.
