“what to use to clean dog urine _best way to clean urine from couch”

I’ve used the vinegar/water cleaner, followed by hydrogen peroxide/baking soda procedure for the last several years. We have three labs, and had two cats (one of whom is no longer with us). The process worked well for stains AND odor. Actually, doing the carpet AGAIN as we speak!
I have four cats and have never had a problem with them urinating anywhere but in the litterbox until a few days ago we noticed the second bedroom had a smell! one of the cats urinated on the blankets/comforter on the bed we tried washing it with detergent and white vinegar but are having no luck! is there anything else I can try? I hate to throw them all out and replace them would baking soda help? we have washed them several times now with no luck.
I am stressed out about about my carpet, dog urine is becoming a NIGHTMARE. I take my 1 1/2 yr old dog out at least 5 times a day, she doesn’t have accidents during day, overnight is the problem, I know how to fix her from urinating, she now sleeps in her crate but my problem I just can’t seem to figure out is how to remove old stains & odor from carpet??? I have tried shout urine destroyer solution, baking soda, vintages/water mixture, bissell pet urine/odor cleaning solution, I always made sure to blot the urine spot w/ paper towels to remove most of the wetness, added the solution after soaking up but NOTHING I’ve tried works, I bought a Hoover carpet cleaner in hopes it would do the job but just seems like the urine smell had gotten stronger. I feel hopeless, i live in apartment & it’s stressing me out even more because I don’t want to lose my security deposit, so I’m DESPERATE for any advice.
We have only had good results with the enzyme based Natures Miracle product in the red sprsy bottle, unless it has been changed . Their aerosol can carpet product uses a strong masking perfume abd we do not recommend that version.
Many products that are considered odor eliminators, like air fresheners, do not eliminate bad odors at all.  Instead, they mask or attempt to mask the bad odors with “pleasant” fragrances.  Because everyone has a unique sense of smell, not everyone can agree on which fragrances are pleasant (except maybe bacon), and which are less pleasant or simply not desirable at all.  And because we all smell things differently, the same masking fragrance may or may not cover up the bad smells we sense with our own nose.
If stains are old or set in, some customers say this product does not work as well (but most would argue it is still worth a try, as many have been able to remove these without a problem). The scent is too strong for a few reviewers, and some say the stain somehow came back after time.
I love being able to spray this product throughout my house and wet doggy smell instantly disappears. Summer months no longer scare me. Spray Febreze and that musty, dusty doggy odor is gone! I use this in my car in the summer months as well to give it a pick me up when the heat of the day has it smelling a little fetid. When company comes over I no longer worry about whether they can “smell” the odor of pets.
Try testing on a small area. BTW peroxide if a chemical compound made of 2 hydrogen atoms and 2 oxygen atoms H2O2. Bleach as the one found in clorox is made our of Chlorine. The chemical formula for bleach is NaClO. That is sodium, chlorine and oxygen.

You may love your animals, but that doesn’t mean you have to love the way they make your house smell. A house that smells like pets can create all sorts of problems. You might be embarrassed to have people over, or spend less time inside. Don’t worry–pet odor is something you can tackle with a few simple actions and changes. They key is focusing on the source before addressing any lingering odors.
Thanx, I’m going to try this for my clothes. My bedroom door doesn’t have a knob but my cat comes and goes. But a week or so ago I couldn’t understand why she kept coming to me very early in bed. I just petted her and said go back to sleep. Here, what was going on, the dog was getting back at her by sleeping up against the door. So, she peed on my clothes that had been on my cedar chest but the dog had knocked off because he liked the cool feeling of the chest. She had been peeing on my hubbys shoes last year because she had a grudge against him lol.
An independent laboratory recently conducted multiple tests of our P.U.R.T. process to determine its effectiveness in treating pet urine odors and stains. In tests against the most common odor sources found in dog and cat urine, this study found that P.U.R.T. removes an average of 99.9% of pet urine odors from carpets. To go one step further, the study also tested Chem-Dry’s ability to eliminate the bacteria that can be found in pet urine. When used along with our HCE (Hot Carbonating Extraction) cleaning process and a sanitizer, the study found that P.U.R.T. removes an average of 99.2% of the bacteria from pet urine stains in carpets.
When a cat pees on rugs, carpets or furnishings it can leave a very unpleasant distinctive cat smell that is hard to get rid of. This urine odor stimulates the cat to urinate in that area again thus perpetuating the problem. Once you remove the odor permanently the cat will no longer keep going back to the same spot to re-offend.
Smoke odors from a fireplace fire that got a little out of control can leave a powerful charred smell. Cooking fires caused by leaving something in the oven too long or oil that splashes in a frying pan can fill the kitchen and surrounding rooms with a white protein smoke. Even scented candles left burning too long can leave an over-powering odor.
Whether the lingering smell is from pet accidents, trash, chemicals, smoke, or coming from your sink or garbage disposal, Rainbow International is here to help. By identifying the cause of the odor and determining the conditions in which it exists, the odor can often be removed without a trace.
FYI – I am not finding it online, but I it says on the bottle of the Nature’s Miracle, that if you use another cleaning product first it can lock in the odor, keeping the enzyme from working correctly. Kind of like trying to get a stain out of your clothes after running through the dryer. – James Jenkins♦ Jun 22 ’14 at 15:38
We used this three times in our basement where one of the dogs has had multiple accidents on the carpet. My husband didn’t think he could smell anything after the second time, but I still thought it smelled. We’ve shampooed twice with our home vacuum. Then tried the Odorzout 3 times. What worked best for us was to use the professional steamer we rented and an enzyme cleaner with the professional steamer.

“Dogs aren’t at the groomer very long, so we don’t deal with a lot of big accidents. But intact males, usually the smaller dogs, will mark their territory right as they walk out the door. This cleans up those spots fast and there’s no lasting odor.” — Lisa Sawin, groomer and owner of Lisa’s Pet Styles
There is a simple sequence that we should follow when cleaning stains. First, apply the remover on the stain, wait for a couple of minutes and even hours for it to take effect. If the stain has gone yet, use a brush to get it done. If the smell hasn’t gone yet, you can apply more remover.
You might think by using your dishwasher on a daily or almost daily basis, it cleans itself. Not so. They should be cleaned just like anything else around the house. Here’s a few things you can do to prevent dishwasher odors.
After cleaning the pee and other items out of carpet, grab baking soda and some natural essential oils. I found a box of oils on amazon. Add tea tree oil and lavender to the baking soda. In fact, add whatever smell you would like for the olfactory. Add lots of drops to the baking soda and mix well. Shake this mixture all over the carpet. It needs to look like it just snowed. Get a brush, preferably with a long handle to protect your back, and agitate the baking soda into your carpet. Leave it on over night for best results and then vacuum. If you can’t wait that long, at least let it sit two hours. Baking soda and the oils are all natural so safe for humans and animals. This step has helped in creating a more earthy and pleasant smell in my home when I do the manic bi-monthly cleaning.
When your dog makes a mess during the dog days of summer, the smell is just … the worst. (To say nothing of cat odors, which some of our editors have previously addressed.) The three best-selling canine-related cleaners on Amazon include an enzymatic bacterial spray that’s activated on contact with poop, pee, and puke, as well as a $5 odor eliminator, beloved since the Reagan administration. Beyond these, we asked the following dog walkers, groomers, and holistic-pet-care owners for their solutions to the foulest of pooch accidents.
