Apply another towel and absorb the cleaner. After soaking the spot with cleaning, follow the same procedure as with the first absorbing, and put a fresh towel over the enzymatic cleaner to absorb it and thoroughly cleanse the area. Weight the towel with a heavy object and leave it alone.
We are trying to remove cat pee smell from a couple of rooms in a house – what would you suggest to use a general cleaner – for tile floors and wiping down furnitures items (that are not cloth or carpet)… Should I spray a solution on the lower part of the walls or if I kilz the walls would that help? My son kept a couple of cats for a family member and they sprayed everywhere – we are gutting the room but have to treat the tile floor and walls and some of the furniture that we want to keep… Thanks so much !
Deana, you should really get yourself a handheld blacklight to help you find the cat spray. In the meantime, your guess for a masking agent is as good as ours. Maybe try some Fresh Wave, it’s good stuff. And of course, leave your windows open if possible.
To relate to the throwing up issue my cat apparently has a sensitive stomach. I’ve tried high end brands purchased at the vet’s office to low cost foods. He doesn’t throw up if he eats soft canned food or people food. Something in the cat food itself is causing it. So in case this is your issue- I found Hill’s Healthy Balance. I’ve found it at our local Fleet Farm. I assume you can find it wherever. My cat is 12 years old and has always been fairly skinny. I didn’t know what else to do for the poor thing. However, since finding this food he has nearly stopped vomiting all together. He may throw up once in a blue moon now. He also clearly has gained about 1 to 1.5 pounds and looks healthy. The food is fairly expensive but he is so much healthier and he goes through less food/uses litterbox less. So you save money in the end!
A: The first step in removing the odor of burned food is to open the windows; this lets air circulate. The fresh air comes in, helping the burnt smell fade away. There are several other options that move the process along. A burnt smell is typical when food is seriously overcooked.
The citrus scent is nice and easy on the nose and will also discourage all but the most stubborn pets from reusing the area. We all know the pain of having to repeatedly clean the same area and any kind of discouragement from continuing this process unabated is good for both us and our pets.
Open windows. There’s nothing like some nice, fresh breeze to out bad smells. In spring, summer, and fall, open windows throughout the house to create a breeze that will blow fresh air in one window and bad smells out the other.[9]
I bought this at Target for about $4.50, applied liberally with the sprayer–though I was tempted just to dump it on the carpet as my hand was getting sore. I was pretty skeptical but thought it would be worth a try. 24 hours after application, there’s just a mild scent of detergent and virtually no smell of urine. It does say it contains bacteria and enzyme solution, which I believe might be the key. Neither of the other solutions I tried mention anything about enzymes or bacteria.
If you just brought a new puppy home or have an older dog with a weak bladder, chances are you’ve cleaned up a urine accident or two. Even if you immediately clean up the stain, the pee still can leave an undesirable odor. Because of dogs’ strong senses o

I really hope you don’t have any pets. You’re part of the problem of over crowded pounds, unnecessary euthenasia and why some dogs have a hard time getting adopted. My dog has problems peeing in the house because she’s scared all the time. I wouldn’t be surprised if her constant fear, flinching, shakes and anxiety was caused by someone just like you.
The market is filled with commercial pet stain removers, deodorizers and air fresheners to help remove urine stains from the carpet. Turn to these products if using vinegar and baking soda fails to remove the urine smell from your home.
For really tough cat urine odor, you may have to treat the area more than once. Carpet, furniture and mattresses typically require 1-2 treatments. Concrete, wood, tile and other hard surfaces usually need 3-5 treatments with 1 treatment a day.
Most people learn at a young age just how important carpeting is upon visiting the home of a neat-freak relative who insists on shoe removal before tramping around inside the home. But those more overzealous carpet owners often have good reason to be so diligent in regards to its protection » More
I have a cat and his litterbox gets a little smelly. This eliminates the smell instantly! Its like a miracle. It also works well for “the wet dog smell” that will linger around the house when my dogs get wet and lay on the couch. This works really well. Over spraying it can be overwhelming though.

I use only ingredients from my store cupboard and have never found it necessary to use hydrogen peroxide.
Iodine is also used when you have a situation with dog pee smell on the wooden surfaces. The solution is prepared in the same way. This product will really deep clean your carpet and is particularly good at getting rid of lingering odors and old stains. Nature’s Miracle call this ‘odor lock technology’ and it really does seem to break down the molecules that cause the smell and this results in a permanent solution to any difficult to remove smells. Keep it clean. Most of us rinse/wash our dishes off before putting them in the dishwasher, so when I’m done removing food and ready to use the disposal, I squirt a little dish soap in the disposal and let it run an extra minute or so.
I have a female pitbull who is somewhat trained, and by that I mean she does well when I’m awake and goes to the restroom when I take her outside but during the night when I sleep she gets up without me noticing and uses the restroom on my carpet. She used to cry when she needed out but has recently stopped and left me with surprises in the morning. I’ve recently moved her to outside and I hate it because she is my sleeping buddy. What should I do?
Also, has anyone else had an issue not being able to see urine stains on dark colored items? I also have two very dark burgundy blankets that I know were peed on, but have tried two different black lights and do not see the stain on either. They were on top of each other on a bed and the cat peed in one spot that was wet to the touch. Now they have dried and I have had both in a completely dark room and used blacklight to try to find the stains and can’t. Does blacklight not work on black or dark colored items?
