“how do you clean up dog urine on carpet +dog urine out of carpet”

Potassium permanganate is quite effective against smell of dog urine. It is a product which acts as oxidant as well as provides deodorizing effect. It is recommended to implement this method only on the dark surfaces as potassium permanganate is easily painting the textile or carpet.
We were going to go to Petsmart right now and see if they have any products for the carpets and vinyl flooring. We bought a Bissell Big Green Machine. Anyone use that with Oxiclean? The directions say only use Bissell cleaners, etc, but I don’t know if I really have to follow that advice. Although I will if I don’t hear otherwise.
At 5:00 this morning I found myself searching the net for ways to get rid of cat pee smell, after returning from a day out to find that SOME CAT (we have three, no names no pack drill) had peed twice in the bathroom. They have a flap and can come and go as they like; we only moved here two months ago and were not planning to touch the b’room until after the summer as there is so much else to do. The smell was simply horrendous and I couldn’t leave the window open until we were up as we live on a public footpath.
DIY:: Pet Urine Odor Remover: 2 parts water to 1 part mouthwash Spray area completely and lay newspaper on top The newspaper will absorb the smell completely… but if it’s an older accident you may need to do it a couple of times.

For odors in your refrigerator, it may be as simple as going through the contents and removing old and smelly foods. That being said – if the old or expired food items or spills haven’t been cleaned up and have been in the fridge for a long period of time – you may need to take everything out and give it a good cleaning.
Your only option that I can see is to fill you washing machine up with hot water and a cup of OxiClean Versatile and soak that bad boy overnight. Run it through, then rewash on hot then dry fully. If that doesn’t work, I’d get a new blanket.
I have four cats and have never had a problem with them urinating anywhere but in the litterbox until a few days ago we noticed the second bedroom had a smell! one of the cats urinated on the blankets/comforter on the bed we tried washing it with detergent and white vinegar but are having no luck! is there anything else I can try? I hate to throw them all out and replace them would baking soda help? we have washed them several times now with no luck.
Our kitten was born August 28, 2015. We brought her home October 9, 2015. Fully litter trained. Until a bit over a week ago she started urinating on my daughters bed. I used cleaners (natures miracle), baking soda and peroxide, essential oil sprays (orange), and she is still urinating on my daughters bed. In addition, she has been to the vet for blood in her urine. We still have not found the cause. She has been on 2 different antibiotics, hopefully we will find out what is going on. The vet said everything is normal except for blood in her urine. Her urine count is good, she is eating, playing, peeing, pooping, drinking, and napping normally. My question is, once I clean the area and get rid of the smell will she stop urinating!!!!! I have had to purchase new linen, mattress cover (plastic), and comforter because I believe she can still “smell” herself. HELP!

Clean drains. Kitchen and bathroom sinks and drains can be home to mold, mildew, clogs, and other things that can cause bad smells in your house. To clean the drain, pour 1 cup (220 g) of baking soda down the drain. Pour 2 cups (470 ml) of white vinegar down the drain after the baking soda. Let the mixture foam and bubble for about 30 minutes.[2]

Lemon juice also work great as an dog urine odor remover. Mix lemon juice — commercial or freshly squeezed — with water and sprinkle it on your carpets. This smell is pleasant for people, but will keep your dog at bay. The citric acid is also effective
I had a stench that I could not get removed from dog urine in carpets. I bought Tide Odor Rescue and mixed it with hot water in a Gallon bucket. I used a $1 store scrub brush to scrub the carpet with the solution. The smell left immediately. I’m not sure how long it will last but just to be safe I sprayed the spots with The Amazing Whip It to ensure the smell doesn’t return. Whip it works perfectly but costs quite a bit compared to the Tide. I recommend either product to remove the stench. I also used a towel to blot up any excess products. Oh yeah, the stain went away immediately too. They were old stains. Whip is so good you can just spray the stains and walk away. Try either one and give a response. You won’t be disappointed
I have two cats. One male and one female. My male is just over a year old. He was born feral. I have had him from about 8-10 weeks of age. He had few accidents in the first couple of weeks but that eventually stopped. My female is only a week over six months of age. She was litter box trained when I brought her home but still had accidents for the first couple of weeks. She has stopped. I have had cats almost my entire life so I know that when a male sprays the smell is stronger. That being said, my male has spraying again. Most of the time I catch him in the act because he seems to be doing so out of anger. Most of the time it seems to be on my bedding (pillows or blankets). I am able to take those things to a washer and clean them with vinegar and/or baking soda and the smell is gone. My problem is that he is spraying in some other spot within my small living space. I cannot clean it because I cannot distinguish where he is spraying. Is there a way to mask the smell while i continue to try to clean a possible areas? I clean their litter box as often as possible (believe me they let me know if I am slacking) and I am sure that the smell is not coming from that.
I’ve been looking everywhere for a product that gets rid of pet urine odor for forever. My nose is really sensitive, and when you have a large dog and 6 cats (one of which who likes to pee when she’s upset), anything to get rid of the odor is greatly desired. I’ve found products that mask the smell, or slightly reduce it, but SUN actually gets RID OF IT. One thing I actually like is that I can see exactly where the pee is, since the most important thing is you want to saturate the area.
To answer your questions – yes, I have a front loader and I use OxiClean by just throwing it on top of the laundry. As far as the OdoBan, I just looked it up and YES I would pick up a couple of jugs. What I’m seeing from the reviews is that it’s very strong smelling so definitely open up your house top to bottom and if you have any fans get those going too because you’re not going to want to breathe that stuff in in concentrated amounts. It looks like this is good for more than just clothes. Following the directions for mixing the OdoBan with water, I would wipe down your walls and any hard floors you have then I would put it in your Little Green (I can’t get through the week without mine, good buy!) up to the solution line, add water, and use it on your upholstery and carpet. Just skip the OxiClean for the carpet as it sounds like the OdoBan may be a better bet for the concentrations of urine you’re dealing with.
Pet odor eliminator reviews from pet owners: “Completely eliminates odors and smells delicious! We recently purchased this product to help clean up “accidents” during the potty training of our new puppy. We have now used Sunny & Honey on our area rugs, slate, tile…”
Yes! This formula is optimal for organic (protein-based) stains. Protein-based stains include human stains such as blood, vomit, feces and semen. It is also great for pet stains. The product may also be used as a pretreatment step on sheets, pillowcases, towels and linens prior to a normal laundry wash. The pretreatment step will boost the removal of food stains such as gravy, spaghetti sauce, red wine and chocolate syrup during laundering.
P.S. If you can, replace the litter boxes too and in the future use litter liners or just big, cheap trash bags to line the boxes so that the ammonia doesn’t soak into the plastic. I’ve found this helpful to control odors in my own home.

Assess the damage. If the urine is old (as in, you just discovered the accident two days after the deed was done), throw the pile into a bag – paper or plastic will do – and douse the clothes in baking soda to help lift the urine. Seal the bag by either tying it or taping it shut. Let the clothes (or curtains, rug, etc.) chill like this overnight. If the urine is fresh, though, just head straight to the washing machine.

We love our four-legged friends dearly…but not so much the stains and messes they leave behind. We can’t blame them really-they don’t come into the world knowing they have to go outdoors or in the litter box every time they have to go potty! There’s no way to avoid the mess, no matter how well trained your friend is, but by making your own cleaners you can avoid lasting stains and extra money spent on store-bought stain removers.

I recently cleaned out my closet, i keep my room closed and no cats allowed at all times. I gave a bag of clothes to a neighbor and she said she threw them away cause they smelled like cat pee. ugh. anyway now i feel the need to wash all the clothes i have. i realllllllllllly hope the ACV works. I have no clue why they would smell like cat pee, i highly doubt my cats are breaking in there and closing the door behind them. This apartment gets really damp when it rains maybe thats the issue. any good spray fresheners to use on the carpet or walls or wherever? i dont want the freshly washed clothes to just soak up the smell again.
Hi Emily, great question! I recommend looking into crate training your dog. It’s not easy leaving your dog in a crate while you’re away, but it can help with training. Crate training has been proven to help dogs get potty trained. Check out the article and let me know if you have any questions, and good luck! https://www.caninejournal.com/crate-training-puppy/
I have found hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dishsoap to work so well that the cats don’t go back to the same place twice, or sniff at places they’ve peed after treatment: a cat’s nose is the gold standard for judging whether cat pee smell is gone or not. Getting it to smell clean to a human nose is only half the battle if you don’t want repeat toilet visits to your carpet or furniture.
Others believe the most powerful weapon in the fight against odor elimination in carpets, couch cushions, mattresses and linens is an enzyme-based cleaner that can be found at local pet stores. The enzymes in these products actually break down the acid in cat urine, helping to get rid of the smell at the same time. These cleaners contain natural enzymes and helpful bacteria to get rid of the bad bacteria causing the unpleasant odors.
Yes your mom is right but if you follow the instructions above you will only have to smell it once more, rather than having the smell constantly. I would recommend you air the room if you can as the smell can be sometimes deceive where the cat has urinated then follow the instruction above
