“how to remove urine stains from mattress +spray to get rid of urine smell”

I collect all my laundry water in a big plastic tub in the back yard, and it had come to stink also. I sprayed the tub with Skout’s Honor and the filthy smell was instantly gone. 2 months later, the laundry tub has developed that smell again, and I know how to get rid of it now.
Having pets can be a rewarding experience for people of all ages and walks of life, but caring and cleaning up after them can cause many concerns and questions to arise. As the most common house pets, dogs and cats can have the unfortunate habit of urinating on sofas, recliners and whatever upholstered furniture you may have. This is a more common occurrence when animals are younger and have not been fully trained to go outside or use the litter box. However, if your pet is suddenly urinating or eliminating in inappropriate areas, it may be a sign of illness or disease, and a visit to the vet would be needed. In the mean time, it’s important pet urine and its smell is cleaned and eliminated to prevent future accidents from reoccurring.
Hi I have a cat who keeps peeing in the same spot (next to rat cage) he’s been treated for a UTI as a precaution even though the vet doubted an infection and was convinced it was all behavioural and he was territorial, the meds were a precaution. Anyway I’ve tried other things with the pet rats and now I need to regime as they are getting stressed with smell of cat Lee (yes he’s neutered) so they scent mark even more which in turn stresses kitty and makes him scent mark also. I live in UK and have never seen peroxide in shops, do you think I could clean up without the peroxide? I have been using a UK enzymatic cleaner called urine off cost around 15gbp ($26) so it has cost a fair bit, but the smell remains. I’m hoping when the rats have been regimes that his urge will go, but with HIS smell still there who knows? Any suggestions??
The first step in removing the odor of burned food is to open the windows; this lets air circulate. The fresh air comes in, helping the burnt smell fade away. There are several other options that move the process along. A burnt smell is typical when food is seriously overcooked.
Once you have got the area as dry as you can, liberally sprinkle on ordinary baking soda, again working it into the fibers of the carpet with your fingertips (don’t forget the rubber gloves!), or an old, soft toothbrush.
I have 13 rescued and adopted cats. I have a large sun room with cat trees plus a cat yard that is protected. There are 4 cats that stay inside our home and the rest get to come in a few at a time. One of the cats who is the bully has been spraying all over in house and in sunroom. All of my cats are neutered or spayed. My vet put my cat on Prozac and has been on for three days now. He has stopped attacking the other cats but it takes about a week for them to stop spraying. They go off of this med very slowly to where they are only getting two a week. Well he sprayed into two brand new wicker baskets that I just purchased. How can I get the smell out?
Pour enough vinegar and water (a 50/50 mix) on the spot to dampen the area. Do not over wet, you want to keep the stain contained to the area you’re working on – not spreading it around unnecessarily.
6. Here’s a good homemade solution: mix a water and vinegar solution. Vinegar is great for killing bacteria. This mixture is perfect for both old and new stains. Try 1 1/2 cups of warm water and a 1/2 cup of vinegar. Pour this concoction over the stain and soak for about 3 to 5 minutes. Note: vinegar is not good for marble or stone.
Use the baking soda and vinegar method. Spray the area with vinegar, then sprinkle on enough baking soda to thinly coat the area of the stain. Cover the stain with a towel for 24 hours, then wash the area thoroughly with cold water. This mixture should absorb the stain and cleanse the area thoroughly, and cheaply.
Our kitten was born August 28, 2015. We brought her home October 9, 2015. Fully litter trained. Until a bit over a week ago she started urinating on my daughters bed. I used cleaners (natures miracle), baking soda and peroxide, essential oil sprays (orange), and she is still urinating on my daughters bed. In addition, she has been to the vet for blood in her urine. We still have not found the cause. She has been on 2 different antibiotics, hopefully we will find out what is going on. The vet said everything is normal except for blood in her urine. Her urine count is good, she is eating, playing, peeing, pooping, drinking, and napping normally. My question is, once I clean the area and get rid of the smell will she stop urinating!!!!! I have had to purchase new linen, mattress cover (plastic), and comforter because I believe she can still “smell” herself. HELP!
As dog owners, we’ve all been there. You got delayed at the office or running errands, and your dog couldn’t hold it any longer. Of course, he picked the perfect place on the carpet to pee. Or even worse, your pet has chosen a regular spot to relieve himself in your home because you haven’t been able to completely eliminate the smell. But do you know how to get dog pee out of carpet? Never fear! We’ll give you some expert tips on how to get dog pee smell out of carpet for good!
Chances are you were using a store bought cleaner that was a brand name in conjunction with a cleaning machine. These cleaners are soap based and as a result, do not remove the odor. Instead, what happens with these types of cleaners is that they attract dirt. They also do not have anything in them that works as an antibacterial agent to break down and remove the odor. You need to use a cleaner that will destroy and kill germs and bacteria that cause the odor. Genesis 950 is my go to cleaner. It is by far the best pet stain remover I have ever found.
Enzymes are protein that help break up urine molecules and dissolve odors. Enzyme cleansers work, but they can take some time. You’ll spray or blot the area with cleaner, then let it sit for a while blotting it up and scrubbing the spot. You may need to repeat this process.
Stinkers! is also great for your other household odors as well – mildew, garbage cans, kennels, litter boxes, fishy and foul kitchen odors, and any other organic odor source. You can purchase Stinkers! online at CTI Clean, Amazon, Ebay or in your local Ace Hardware store.
This product claims to eliminate both new and old stains and odors with its natural enzyme formula. It is said to work on stains like urine, feces, and vomit. This odor eliminator from Sunny & Honey prevents pets from returning to the same spot more than once. It can also work on pet bedding, litter boxes, crates, cages, and in cars.
“This is more like a cover-up than a cleaner, but it works great for lawns, whether it’s your own or at the dog park. The green tint masks yellow spots in the grass and doesn’t wash off in the rain.” — Ryann Solomon, dog walker and owner of Ryannimals Pet Care
Used to get animal scent off from where the cat sits on the furniture. It did remove smell without harsh fragrance covering it up. However, did not have use on real tough smells like cat urine, so not sure its effect on that. It is quite expensive
I had a stench that I could not get removed from dog urine in carpets. I bought Tide Odor Rescue and mixed it with hot water in a Gallon bucket. I used a $1 store scrub brush to scrub the carpet with the solution. The smell left immediately. I’m not sure how long it will last but just to be safe I sprayed the spots with The Amazing Whip It to ensure the smell doesn’t return. Whip it works perfectly but costs quite a bit compared to the Tide. I recommend either product to remove the stench. I also used a towel to blot up any excess products. Oh yeah, the stain went away immediately too. They were old stains. Whip is so good you can just spray the stains and walk away. Try either one and give a response. You won’t be disappointed
PRS Carpet Prespray is biological based and provides stunning cleaning performance on food soils, pet stains, and body fluids on carpet and all cloth surfaces by digesting odors and moderate soil loads at their source.
The first step is to grab a length of around six sheets of kitchen roll, fold this into a six sheet thick square and press it down onto the wet area of the carpet with your foot. Repeat with fresh kitchen roll until the area is as dry as you can get it.
Several of the dog deodorizers and pet odor eliminators you’ll find at Petco can be used on any surface and work to eliminate foul smells on contact, so you won’t be left stressing over lingering scents. With products for use both in the air and on surfaces, worry over pet odor removal will seem like a thing of the past. From carpets to hardwood floors, you’ll find pet odor eliminators that can successfully clean up marking behavior and accidents in every room. Most pet odor removers not only help simplify clean-ups, but also work to remove deep-set stains and lingering traces of pet pheromones. This will help discourage your dog from returning to the same spot in your home when they gotta go.
When cleaning any surface, it’s important to get to the point not only where you cannot smell the urine, but your cat can’t smell it either. “When a cat can smell a previous urine spot (from themselves or another cat), that area is likely to be used again,” George said.
There should be plenty of flooring dealers and installers in your city. I’d suggest getting recommendations directly from friends and family (Facebook works great for this), or by browsing the reviews within the Flooring or Carpeting categories on Yelp.
Wash the bedding. You spend about a third of your life in your bed, so it’s no wonder that sheets, blankets, and pillow cases can start to smell up a room after a while. To remove these odors, strip the pillow cases, sheets, and other washable linens and covers from the bed, and wash them in the washing machine.
Really helpful! The light sounds especially useful, as I have mostly black and other dark fabrics. Accidents are hard to spot! Our dog doesn’t actually pee in the floor, he is just one of those dogs that sprinkles when he is happy (and excited, scared, upset, sleeping, etc!)
Find the soiled spot as quickly as possible. It can become extremely tricky to remove urine if your pet’s urine soaks deep into the upholstery and even into the wood frame. In most cases, you can spot the urine spot right away. If not, you can try:
You can also make your own air freshener by filling a saucepan with water, citrus peels, and your favorite herbs. Bring the water to a boil and let it simmer on the stove to infuse your home with delicious smells.
I would suggest politely going to your neighbor and discussing your concern. Your neighbor might be “nose blind” and not realize the smell is so potent and traveling into your home. You could try different air fresheners with odor eliminating properties but it’s best to remove the source of the offensive odor.
