“neutralize dog urine odor in carpet cat odor removal”

Rachel, those things work great and there are enzymatic cleaners designed for use in them. I’ve always just used the ones you can rent from hardware stores so I don’t really have any brand suggestions for you. Honestly, I’d just check Amazon and start reading reviews. Good luck!
ENZYME ACTIVATED The key is getting to the problem deep-down. This spray contains natural enzymatic bacteria that are activated on contact with odors and stains, feeding on ammonia crystals and organic matter until they are completely eliminated.
Most reviewers love the smell, stating that it is not too overpowering, but nice, clean, and great for a fresh smelling house. Although most people enjoy the smell of this product, a select few say it is too strong and unpleasant. Some also claim the product does not work at all, saying you can smell oranges for a day or two and that, once that scent dissipates, the urine is back again.

The PurAyr™ process is natural and effective thanks to a simple element we call Oxygen. Most of the offensive and potentially harmful odors we experience are created by organic compounds such as bacteria, mold or incomplete combustion (smoke, soot, etc..). Although completely different in nature, these contaminants have at least one thing in common, they are held together by carbon bonds. When organic contaminants are exposed to the PurAyr™ gases, composed of purified Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2) and Ozone (O3), they quickly begin to break down into the simple elements they were made from, the PurAyr™ gases in turn fall harmlessly back into Oxygen (O2). In essence we are speeding up time and doing what nature would take care of eventually.
If the area you are working with is the carpet, work the baking soda into the carpet fibers carefully with an old toothbrush or something similar, something that won’t damage the carpet fibers. And do be careful that you don’t pull or snag the carpet fibers.

Hi I have a cat who keeps peeing in the same spot (next to rat cage) he’s been treated for a UTI as a precaution even though the vet doubted an infection and was convinced it was all behavioural and he was territorial, the meds were a precaution. Anyway I’ve tried other things with the pet rats and now I need to regime as they are getting stressed with smell of cat Lee (yes he’s neutered) so they scent mark even more which in turn stresses kitty and makes him scent mark also. I live in UK and have never seen peroxide in shops, do you think I could clean up without the peroxide? I have been using a UK enzymatic cleaner called urine off cost around 15gbp ($26) so it has cost a fair bit, but the smell remains. I’m hoping when the rats have been regimes that his urge will go, but with HIS smell still there who knows? Any suggestions??
Whew sorry for that novel-I really could go on about potty-training. I hope at least some part of it useful. Stick with it and he’ll figure it out! Feel free to ask anymore questions you have-hopefully I didn’t just confuse you more! 😀
Understanding a little about the behavior and physiological capabilities of your pet helps in understanding why enzymatic cleaners are so useful for removing pet stains. Dogs and cats have a much more highly developed sense of smell than humans do and can detect odors that we cannot smell. We think the carpet is clean because the odor and stains are gone–and then the dog/cat returns and pees on the same spot.
Wet the stain with vinegar. Put a thick layer of baking soda on it , then allow it to dry. It should wick the stain up into the baking soda. sweep up the dry discolored baking soda that you can and then finish with a quick vacuum.
