“pet stains out of carpet how to get rid of pet urine odor”

I have a dog door in my house. Although my dogs use it regularly, one of my dogs is afraid to go out when it is raining heavily, and has peed on the carpet a few times at night without my knowledge. I didn’t know about it until it had dried. Please don’t judge. Nobody wants their pet to pee in the house. It’s so frustrating and embarrassing.
Add 4 tablespoons of baking soda to your water and vinegar mixture. Baking soda naturally removes and absorbs odor. It also provides deep cleaning for stains that are set within the carpet, fabrics, furniture or bedding. The baking soda may help to brighten the carpet, removing the sight of the urine, feces or blood stains.
Please do not use bleach! You will strip the carpet fibers of the color dye. If you would like to learn how to remove pet odors and stains please call a professional Like Benchmark Restoration & Cleaning
If you have a wood subfloor, remove the nails that keep the tack strips in place. If you have a concrete subfloor, you’ll find that removing the nails will leave large divots in the subfloor, which need to be filled in with spackling. To get around that, simply cut the nails flush with the floor with a multi-tool (e.g. Dremel).
Keep your pet well-groomed. A well groomed pet not only smells good, but looks good, too. Regularly bathe your pet, clip their nails, and brush their teeth. Keeping up with regular grooming can drastically improve the smell of your house, because fur, dirty nails, and even bad breath can make your house stink.
Then pour on Natures Miracle or The Simple Solution. (commercial products that can be purchased in most pet stores). Here is the trick, you must cover more than double the stained area when you pour on the product to ensure it soaks into the padding. Then walk away and allow to soak in and dry.
When cleaning any surface, it’s important to get to the point not only where you cannot smell the urine, but your cat can’t smell it either. “When a cat can smell a previous urine spot (from themselves or another cat), that area is likely to be used again,” George said.
Is your dog still going on the floor? Getting dog urine out of your carpet doesn’t have to be hard, but you’ll need to act quickly. Dog urine that is allowed to dry will not only stain the carpet, but will make it easier for harmful bacteria to start multiplying. The following are ways to get dog urine odor out of the carpet to prevent future repeat incidents.
Animal odors can range in severity and causes as well. From skunk spray to urine and feces, these odors can penetrate deep into fabrics, walls, carpet, and subfloors. Animal odors include carrion odors (dead body), such as those caused by an animal that dies in the attic or crawlspace and goes undetected for a long period of time.
“This is more like a cover-up than a cleaner, but it works great for lawns, whether it’s your own or at the dog park. The green tint masks yellow spots in the grass and doesn’t wash off in the rain.” — Ryann Solomon, dog walker and owner of Ryannimals Pet Care

The first solution most people try is a mixture of vinegar and baking soda. Mix a cup of white vinegar, two tablespoons of baking soda, and a cup of warm water then apply it to the stain while the whole mixture is still bubbling.
Adding to the stench are the powerful hormones that cats eliminate when they pee. Unless male cats are neutered, their testosterone-spiked urine signals other males to stay away and lets females know they’re around.
After you’re done cleaning, shine a black light on a troublesome spot. It will show if cat urine is still present in the area. Sometimes it may seem like the urine is gone, but it can crystallize and stay present in carpet fibers. A black light shows the size of the stain that isn’t visible to the human eye or picked up by the human nose.
It’s a disposal for food waste. Of course it can get a little stinky! But it’s easy to fix. One of the first things you should know is don’t run hot water while using the disposal. Hot water only causes grease to liquefy, accumulate, and cause your drain to get clogged. Always run cold water while running the disposal.
I’ve tried so many others…this is perfect for odors!!!! And there’s not that period of time after you spray it that you’re like…oh wow now it’s worse…like with so many other products. Glad to have finally found a good one!!!
Thanks Patsy, even though this is a method I have used successfully over many years when my dogs have had the occasional accident, it is always good to receive affirmation from a professional, thanks again for leaving a comment, Alison
A: Remove mildew odor from carpet by drying the air in the room and removing the mildew itself. The process requires removing the carpet and taking it to a sunny area for several days. Kill any remaining mildew spores by spraying with dilute hydrogen peroxide and drying the carpet.
I love being able to spray this product throughout my house and wet doggy smell instantly disappears. Summer months no longer scare me. Spray Febreze and that musty, dusty doggy odor is gone! After about 24 hours, soak the area with an enzyme cleaner and let it completely air dry. To keep your family members from stepping on the spot, cover the area with a laundry basket or aluminum foil. It may take a day or two to dry completely.
I think he wants it to be known that this is his home, because the urination is a battle that can’t be won. He is healthy, we’ve taken him to the vet to get it checked out, but he has saturated our basement. We moved in September, and the basement has concrete floors, and while cleaning the carpeted area yesterday, I realized that the carpet is held down by duct tape, and there is no padding underneath. So I’m wondering if the smell is mainly in the concrete? The other cats don’t urinate out of their box, but Lucien has something against the basement. I’m putting a second litter box in the basement, but I’m thinking I have some serious cement clean up ahead of me

That’s awful. I’m sorry to hear about this. The only thing I can think of is to maybe wrap a towel around the head of your long handled brush to absorb some of the urine, rather than just pushing it around with brush bristles. I think I’d take a two-pronged approach. First wrap your brush with a towel dampened with water, both to remove some of the urine and to soften the dried stuff. Then go down with a clean towel dampened with Nature’s Miracle. You might need to do that second step a few times until the towel starts to come up clean.

I that’s a little drastic and not fair to the dog/puppy. You don’t have to cut the sub floor out, if you do it right and there is no visible stain on carpet you can replace the area of stained padding for the sub-floor paint over affected area with kills paint, available at Walmart and lumber stores return carpet to use.

I hope this vinegar method will work on days old cat urine on carpet. I couldn’t figure out exactly where the smell was coming from at first and finally discovered a couple spots in the closet! I don’t even know which cat’s been doing this, or why, after all these years.
Also, has anyone else had an issue not being able to see urine stains on dark colored items? I also have two very dark burgundy blankets that I know were peed on, but have tried two different black lights and do not see the stain on either. They were on top of each other on a bed and the cat peed in one spot that was wet to the touch. Now they have dried and I have had both in a completely dark room and used blacklight to try to find the stains and can’t. Does blacklight not work on black or dark colored items?
