“remove dog urine odor from carpet cat pee removal products”

Most reviewers love the smell, stating that it is not too overpowering, but nice, clean, and great for a fresh smelling house. Although most people enjoy the smell of this product, a select few say it is too strong and unpleasant. Some also claim the product does not work at all, saying you can smell oranges for a day or two and that, once that scent dissipates, the urine is back again.
This is a must have for any parent who has kids that play sports. Riding home in a car with a several teenagers after a tournament can be challenging enough, but at least with Febreze you can drive home without the stench!  see moreof Emily811218008’s review
Rachel, those things work great and there are enzymatic cleaners designed for use in them. I’ve always just used the ones you can rent from hardware stores so I don’t really have any brand suggestions for you. Honestly, I’d just check Amazon and start reading reviews. Good luck!
If the wood on your furniture, walls, baseboard or floor is discolored, the varnish or paint has reacted to the acid in the urine. You may need to remove and replace the layer of varnish or paint. If you do so, make sure the new product is safe for pets.
4. Boys Bathroom – The stinkiest place in our house is our boys’ bathroom, hands down. It’s the bathroom of choice for all three of my boys and all of the neighborhood kids who spend most of their time hanging out here. It’s definitely well used, and no matter how often it’s cleaned, it always has a lingering “boy smell.”  After the boys cleaned up the bathroom, I sprayed a good amount of Stinkers! on the rugs and shower curtain and gave the entire room a quick spray. The Stinkers! worked SO well at getting rid of the funky bathroom smell that even after a week the room still smells fresh! I’ll be storing my bottle of Stinkers! underneath their bathroom sink from now on so that it’s always handy and convenient!

Yes Terri, if there’s any wood, the urine has probably soaked into it. The vinegar and baking soda may do the trick. Have you tried any of the enzymatic cleaners. Also, how big is the vent? Can you take the vent cover off to get your hand/arm down in there?
You love your pets. You love your carpets. Unfortunately the two don’t co-exist well. Knowing how to get pet stains out of carpet is a key a skill for dog and cat owners. Here’s how to clean some of the most common messes caused by your animals.
Thanks for your response Eric. Well, I did have the service come back out. He told me what he did should take care of it as he used an entire jug of whatever enzyme cleaner they use. That was Friday Morning and while it is better than it was there is still a stench. The service has said they specialize in pet treatments, but I am beginning to wonder if this is going to work. They are not pulling up the carpet so I do wonder if whatever they are doing is penetrating through to the pad. I know my cat has not resoiled the carpet because I have kept the room closed. Keeping the window open during the day.
I just found a black canvas type bag in my closet that has been peed on several times. Put it under a blacklight but not seeing specific stain area. I was thinking to clean this in the sink or a bucket with water and detergent…maybe adding some baking soda or vinegar, but I also have a few enzymatic cleaners (Anti Icky Poo and SCOE 10x). Should I use one of the enzymatic cleaners first, then wash in detergent with vinegar or baking soda? Or skip the cleaner altogether?
Get professional cleaners on it. They should have lots of ways of getting rid of the smell. In the meantime, take your cat to the vet. Cats with bladder infections will usually pee everywhere but the litter box.
Choose a remover with a nice smell that suits both you and kittens. I really like an odor remover that has a mild fragrance, not those fake products that use overly strong smell to cover the odor. I don’t mean all products that have a strong smell are fake but you should be careful when testing them. Fake ones will only fool your nose with a stronger smell but it’ll go away soon.
Repeat the process as needed until the stain and smell subside. Be aware that if you are dealing with an old stain, you may need to apply the enzymatic cleaner two or three times (and being sure to let it completely dry between applications) in order to fully get rid of the stain.[13]
When urine dries, it leaves behind crystals in the carpet fibre which attract water – so wee stains in carpet tend to always be a bit damp from the moisture in the air.. which means that they always pong a bit.
To further deodorize household items, sprinkle baking soda over things like carpets, furniture, mattresses, and other possible odor sources. Leave the baking soda for 30 minutes, and then vacuum it up.
also be absolutely certain to avoid foods with HIGH magnesium and ash content, I’ve had numerous cats over the years, two at the same time from using no name cat food i’d bought from IGA/superstore/provigo/metro, chains in Canada and all associated. I didn’t realize by saving a few bucks it would cost me upwards of five hundred bucks to have the vet use a catheter to open up their urethras. If the concentration of ash and magnesium is too high, then often they wind up getting calcified pieces of chrystals in their urine which for a person, is tantamount to having small shards of glass /a cat will meow, painfully when urinating, sometimes as they are full of pee, they’ll go where they are at, check the spot, or leave ateeny amount of litter in their box, to avoid missing the blood. You can see the shiny glittery shards of calcified urine pieces, or if you’re not too squeamish(urine is sterile until it exits the body, just wash your hands after using a finger to run through the spot. Don’t punish them, this is like punishing a child for puking when they are ill. Take them to a vet, change the food to low ash/magnesium content, and once a week , allow the urine to get really concentrated, by removing their food bowls, not the water, just the food, and the system will purge itself and break up chrystals naturally. Just one day a week, let them go without food until night time, say fourteen hours. I know the crying will get to you but in the end they will be healthier for it people should give a certain quantity of food per day, dense food as well, such as no name iams, sameingredients, immense difference in price mother hubbards is one that sells it around a dollar or dollar and a half . If you switch, some cats develop this naturally, and have to be constantly purged. Anyways I hope this saves on vet bills, if your cat is already bleeding, it’s too late to do anything but see a vet, google humane societies for low cost vets, as vets tend to overprice, another thing, all prescriptions can and you should insist on a prescription/they have been known to charge up to 100% more on something you can pick up for your pet at a local pharmacy. I had to get phenobarbitol, which was at the vet, but she was a cat lover/animal lover, she suggested instead to get it at the pharmacy, which I did from then onward, valium is effective on cats or dogs having seizures, fyi, but you must verify weight online, at several different sites, also for agitation while taking roadtrips, vomitting, etc. Its a wonderful thing to have on hand but never give more than.25mgs of it. NOT 25 mgs. Thanks for your answers. I hope I have assisted you bookmark or copy and paste also one last thing, animals in particular, males, tend to get this calcificated urine particles, after they are fixed, or before, you need to clarify that, so if you get them fixed, go online to ensure what their diet should consist of remembering always, they are carnovores, so try to get (the ingredients are listed on the side, the most quantity to the least in that order)foods that contain mostly chicken, rice, etc, it’s the crap in the food the fillers that cause these sicknesses. Most vets won’t be happy when you tell them you are aware you can get same meds at a pharmacy, unless they are strictly for animals, to avoid the immense markup but they cannot refuse you. Not one time, you can put in a complaint that can cost them their license, they’d prefer to just give you the script.
This bio-enzymatic formula from Nature’s Miracle is said to eliminate odor, stains, and sticky residue from carpets, furniture, clothing, and more. It is guaranteed to permanently eliminate stains and odors, so it is definitely worth a try! The self-proclaimed urine destroyer also works to discourage re-soiling due to its dual-action, odor-control system that destroys odors on contact.
Assuming the pee has not saturated the padding underneath, I have used Odormute, for over fifteen years with excellent results. Originally, I was told by a local police that they use this product to remove the blood from cement at crime scenes. It is natural enzyme product and totally safe as far as I can tell and I am a fanatic about natural products. You will still need to use a cleaner on the carpet; nonetheless, the odor should be gone.
Add in 4 heaping tablespoons of baking soda, adding it in smaller amounts if it threatens to fizz over (and it really does fizz!) Pour into a spray bottle and thoroughly spray the area. Let sit for 5 minutes, then gently rub and blot up with a soft cloth. You can also simply pour some straight from the bowl over the stain if you don’t have a spray bottle.
You may love your animals, but that doesn’t mean you have to love the way they make your house smell. A house that smells like pets can create all sorts of problems. You might be embarrassed to have people over, or spend less time inside. Don’t worry–pet odor is something you can tackle with a few simple actions and changes. They key is focusing on the source before addressing any lingering odors.
Rubbing a cat pee spot to absorb the moisture only spreads the stink. Instead, get a cloth or paper towel and press down hard to get out any soaked-in urine. After you’re finished, leave another cloth or pile of paper towels on the spot to soak up more.
After you’ve successfully removed the dog pee smell from your home, the last thing you want is to have to start all over again. Dogs may return to the scene of the pee crime if they can still smell their own personal scent, so be sure to clean thoroughly. You can also make the area unavailable by placing furniture or a rug over the spot.
Go ahead and replace the cover, then allow the area to air dry. A high-quality enzymatic cleaner will continue to consume odor sources until they’ve been completely eliminated. If after the first application, the odor remains, reapply after the surface has dried.
My cat Chancey a male never had a problem with urine till someone threw Smokey a female out of a window of a car and then I kept her; they say cats are territory and he is acting out you could say he is jealous;I clean the spot with peroxide dish soap and vinegar; when it is totally dry I then saturte the area with baking powder for 2 months and I cover the area with 2 garbage bags I leave the bags on if he pees again all you do is to wipe with paper towels ;and spray the mixture don’t smell a thing!

Invest in air-purifying houseplants. Certain houseplants are known to clean the air, and they may help to control odors in the house as well. Houseplants you can grow around the house for air-purification include:[15]
Sometimes dog urine accidents have already dried because you did not notice them previously. You can find dried urine spots on your carpet with the aid of a black light. The dog urine stains will fluoresce under the ultra violet light in a darkened room. Hand held black lights are quite inexpensive usually costing between $15 – $25.
It’s a scientific formula that has been proven by lots of users. Guaranteed to get rid of most odor and stain from upholstery, floor, and carpet. The product contains dormant bacteria that’s only become active when touching a food stain. They’ll create thousands of enzymes that can get rid of all the stains deep in your carpet. You can also use it for cleaning laundry, especially apply on tough stains like coffee and tea.
Claire, thanks for the helpful recipes for these natural carpet cleaner/deserters. I just used the vinegar water baking soda concoction in my carpet cleaner and it worked really well. Keep email comin!
Some cleaners use oxidation as the acting agent in the cleaning process. While oxidation is highly effective in removing stains and does an excellent job of cleaning up most of the substances in cat urine, it does little break down the uric acid that causes lingering odor. For that reason, it doesn’t work to get rid of that subtle smell in the long-term. Oxidizing cleaners can be effective if your cat doesn’t repeatedly return to the affected area, but to really get rid of that barely-noticeable long-lasting smell, enzymatic cleaners are preferred.
The term “adsorb” refers to the process by which the material attaches itself to the charcoals by way of chemical attraction. Large surface areas with tiny pores of activated charcoal attract odors, gases, and chemical toxins, and the pores trap these impurities. In this process, odor and chemical molecules actually bind to the carbon. As the carbon filter becomes full with airborne contaminants, the charcoal becomes less effective, requiring replacement. Impregnated carbon filters contain an additional chemical (a chemisorbent), allowing them to eliminate Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) as well as odors and fumes.
P.S. If you can, replace the litter boxes too and in the future use litter liners or just big, cheap trash bags to line the boxes so that the ammonia doesn’t soak into the plastic. I’ve found this helpful to control odors in my own home.
