“remove human urine smell from couch +clean cat urine smell”

I strongly advise that if you are contemplating the above instructions you stop. There are cleaners that can remove the stains and smell without you having to play laboratory and creating things that can ruin your home. My choice of cleaner for pet stains is Genesis 950. Cleans better then anything I have tried . . . and I have been through a lot of different products. But even if you don’t use that, use anything . . . just don’t do the vinegar/baking soda thing.
I am so thankful that I found this site. I have 2, 11 year old kitties, both are fixed and have medical issues. My male cat has a urinary tract disorder and requires special food and lots of water. He is the perfect kitty, loves his litter box. My female has an inoperable stomach tumor and has decided that she no longer wants to pee in the litter box. Instead she has several places in my bedroom and bathroom that she rather use. I have tried vinegar w/ water and followed that with baking soda, she goes right on top of all of it. The tile and sheetrock in the bathroom are horrible. I have tried all the natural ways of cleaning them with no avail in deterring her. I’m not sure I know what an enzyme cleaner is but really need help with this. The Vet said they don’t make kitty diapers when I asked, I am willing to try anything.
Step 1.  If the cat has recently urinated on the carpet, first absorb as much of the cat urine as possible using paper towels. Place several layers of clean paper towels over the cat urine area and tread on them so as to absorb as much of the urine as possible. Repeat with dry towels until no more moisture can be absorbed.

Hi Mary, My spray bottle became clogged also. You can fix it by running the openning under very hot water for a few minutes and the spray some very hot water a few times. This works but not in a spray bottle! I had two areas of puppy pee on my mattress and I have been very upset about it and have been sleeping in another bed. This is what I did: I sprayed the peroxide directly on the stains, then mixed the baking soda and dish soap in a jar and shook very hard. I put the solution on a clean white rag and rubbed the stains (sprayed with peroxide) very hard. I set up a fan and in one hour I had a white, fresh smelling mattress again. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! Try storing your shoes temporarily in a closed bin to see if the odor goes away. Try replacing your pillows and using zippered pillow covers, which you should wash every week along with your sheets. Try washing the mattress pad, blankets and other bed coverings.
Here is my magic method that has taken me over a year to come up with, the only thing that works for me. Also note that I have the tried the same method with other cleaners, and SUN is the key to it working for me. Like I said, I have hardwood floors and this product does not damage them. Using a paper towel I dry the urine up completely. Then I lay dry paper towels over the entire area where there was urine. After mixing my SUN solution up (I make it strong using less water) I pour it all over the paper towels until they are completely saturated with the solution. I have an oscillating fan that I put on the floor and point toward the wet paper towels. I leave it there all day or until they are dry. Once dry, I discard the dried paper towels, then I lay more dry paper towels down and I repeat the whole process one more time. Well- la, that’s it. Every now and then I will spray some more SUN solution to that area and wipe it down just to keep up with it. This really works for me. Trust me, I have been to the point where I was in tears and spending tons of money to try and fix the problem. Since the reason my cat does this is behavioral and there isn’t a medical reason why she does it (as said by my vet after running several tests, food changes, new litter boxes, calming collars, calming spray, and the list goes on), I keep at least one of these bottles handy at all times in case there is another occurrence.
One important caution….These products can take the color out of cheap carpeting if left soaking wet to dry. Test in a closet first. If your carpets lose color than you can still pour on but must blot off, this will still help but will not be as effective as leaving it on.
I called the service as they said they had a 30 day guarantee. They told me if the smell is not gone by Wednesday they will come back out. Now I wait – 2 days. When it smells I cannot even sleep in that room.
I have a 25 yr old satillo tile with concrete grout floor. I have always had a variety of animals in my home and for some reason this has been the place where the accidents happen. I have tried all kinds of things that appear to work but then the smell comes back. Especially in the damp winter time. I have a 23 yr old macaw that does have some respiratory deficiency in the house so I can’t use anything that will harm him.
You might think by using your dishwasher on a daily or almost daily basis, it cleans itself. Not so. They should be cleaned just like anything else around the house. Here’s a few things you can do to prevent dishwasher odors.
Pet odor eliminator reviews from pet owners: “Completely eliminates odors and smells delicious! We recently purchased this product to help clean up “accidents” during the potty training of our new puppy. We have now used Sunny & Honey on our area rugs, slate, tile…”
Nature’s Miracle, which can be bought at most large pet stores—at some in gallon containers with a battery-operated sprayer, although that’s not necessary. We have lived with cats for decades, and this is the only material that is always successful in odors. We have not had real problems with our cats, but all you need is one to make a house smell terrible. Nature’s Miracle also works well in the washing machine—just add a bit in the pre-rinse.
Good for cleaning urine stains, especially with those yellow ones. Can even have effects on old stains too. It saved me from a two-year stain on my carpet. At first, I was just trying to test it but the effect really shocked me. But the remover is not very effective on other types of stain though. The smell removing feature is good too, especially with urine. It has a mild fragrance which will fit most people’s interest.
Carl, I just bought a house and the carpet looks great but reaks of cat urine, I do not see where the cat peed. Can I saturate entire floor and tha will take care of it? Also is it safe or do I need to wear mask or something, just want to make sure it’s safe.
Well, we finally had to euthanize our dog for congestive heart failure about six months after the start of this urine issue. A month or so afterwards, the carpet odors were undetectable. I’m not sure which product did the “trick,” or if it was just a matter of time for the smell to dissipate. It also could have been that somehow our dog was periodically urinating in the same spots without us noticing.
I hope that you have found this article useful and now know how to remove the odor of dog urine from your carpets and eliminate the evidence of those little accidents that are bound to happen from time to time! I use only ingredients from my store cupboard and have never found it necessary to use hydrogen peroxide.
