“remove urine smell naturally -best carpet cleaner for old pet urine”

I have made a mix using peroxide and using a squeezy bottle have used the solution by pouring it in where each slat meets the other. I now have a lovely clean floor, lighter than the rest in parts but who cares!!
If your cat’s not using the litter box, it’s likely that he or she is trying to tell you something. The first thing you need to do is rule out a medical problem, said Bruce Kornreich, DVM, PhD, DACVIM and associate director of the Cornell Feline Health Center.  Medical issues related to inappropriate urination can include urinary tract infections, kidney disease, diabetes, hyperthyroidism and feline lower urinary tract disease, and can cause a cat to urinate outside the litter box, particularly if he or she associates the litter box with pain. If you believe your cat is suffering from any of these conditions, or is exhibiting additional symptoms, bring them to your veterinarian immediately, as untreated conditions, like urinary tract infections, can become serious.
Rocco and Roxie has an OxyClean product. This carpet cleaner gets out the toughest stains including my error of Angry Orange stains. Spray the product on any stain, let it sit for 5 minutes, and then start working on it with paper towels.
The IBIYAYA Lightweight Dog Stroller is marketed as being one of the smallest pet strollers on the market. It’s made with quality materials and can hold dogs weighing up to 44 pounds. Find out if it’s a good value for the money in this extensive review.
Hi Eric! I have a kitty who is “pissed” because he has to be quarantined for 45 days – something bit him outside. He’s unhappy because of this, and keeps peeing on my bedroom carpet. I’d like to just buy a steam cleaning machine because he seems to have peed all over the whole thing. Have you ever tried method? Would you advise against this for any reason and if not, can you recommend a specific machine that won’t break the bank?
Corinne, I rescued a tiny feral cat a couple years back. It’s an indoor only cat and was litter box trained. We have two cats and two boxes we clean regularly. The cat started to pee on the other cat’s bed, my bed and a blanket on the couch. I love this cat and this was disturbing. At first I thought it was stress. After Dr. visits to rule out Diabetes, antibiotics for infections, I didn’t know what to do. Then my cat looked at me and intentionally peed again on my other cat’s bed, it was this time I saw red, as in blood. I had a medicine syringe soaked up what I could and back to the vet. After more discussions and test, the Dr. said she needs a special RX of wet food. Seriously it did the trick. Wish I had done that $900.00 earlier.

My doggy has had frequent accidents since we got her. I feel your pain! Instead of caging her at night, I started training her to sleep with me. I just put her leash around my ankle. I realized quickly that she wouldn’t tinkle on the bed, couch, or anytime she is leashed to me. My vet suggested this and it’s done wonders for my furry baby!!
[…] Cat Urine Smell Remover Recipe posted at Home Life Weekly, saying, “It can be difficult to remove cat urine smell from furnishings as the cat urine odor tends to linger, well instead of buying expensive odour removers, this recipe can be used to remove the odor of other pets as well.” […]
You can also try using a black fluorescent light. These lights will show stains on furniture, walls, or carpet as yellow spots. You can purchase a black light rather inexpensively from pet stores or online.[3]
I just read this on the Humane Society’s website: Avoid using steam cleaners to clean urine odors from carpet or upholstery. The heat will permanently set the stain and the odor by bonding the protein into any man-made fibers.
The type of surface that you’re going to apply on is also a factor to consider. See if the product is recommended for your upholstery, carpet, floor, and so on. It’s best to choose removers with a natural bacterial formula. They have no harm to your health and also very good at their job.
I received a personal email from the founder and CEO of this company thanking me for the review and offering a free bottle on the house. This is a small, family run business and I can not express how important it is to support these types of companies.
To treat a mattress, use essentially the same process as for the couch cushion (you don’t need to remove the mattress from the bed!). Slowly pour the enzyme cleaner on/around the affected area, ensuring it has the chance to really soak in thoroughly. Let it sit for 15 minutes, and then blot up what you can with a lot of towels. Place several layers of clean towels over the area, and then make the bed. Just swap out those clean towels each day (if done properly it will take days to dry). To discourage peeing on the spot while the mattress dries, cover the bed with a large plastic sheet or tarp when you’re not using it, or take a large box, cut it down, and lay it over the top of the bed when you’re not using it.
Once the spot is clean, apply a high-quality pet odor neutralizer (see below for our recommendations). Follow instructions carefully and test out a hidden area of the carpet to make sure the neutralizer doesn’t stain.
Blot. Then sprinkle kind of a lot of baking soda. Then pour vinegar. It will fizz. Let dry. 24 hours probably. Vacuum. Only set back: your carpet will have a “clean” spot”. Dog will just pee another spot, tho.
Plumbing smells are among the worst smells to fill your nostrils. Odors can be caused from a variety of sources, including dirty bathrooms, clogged drains, and damaged plumbing lines. Recognizing these causes and identifying the problem is half the battle » More
As a disabled senior with a service dog…and a neat freak…I depend on Febreze to keep my apartment smelling nice and clean. While my apartment is immaculate, in summer or winter when everything is closed, air can quickly become musty and stale smelling…but not with Fabreze…even my service animal appreciates it as he loves the smell too!
6. Here’s a good homemade solution: mix a water and vinegar solution. Vinegar is great for killing bacteria. This mixture is perfect for both old and new stains. Try 1 1/2 cups of warm water and a 1/2 cup of vinegar. Pour this concoction over the stain and soak for about 3 to 5 minutes. Note: vinegar is not good for marble or stone.
The citrus scent is nice and easy on the nose and will also discourage all but the most stubborn pets from reusing the area. We all know the pain of having to repeatedly clean the same area and any kind of discouragement from continuing this process unabated is good for both us and our pets.
Be prepared for accidents when you bring home a new cat. You’ll need to train your cat to use the litter box properly, clean up after her if she doesn’t, and get medical treatment for her if an illness is causing inappropriate urination.
After you’ve successfully removed the dog pee smell from your home, the last thing you want is to have to start all over again. Dogs may return to the scene of the pee crime if they can still smell their own personal scent, so be sure to clean thoroughly. You can also make the area unavailable by placing furniture or a rug over the spot.
Ways to offer your cat healthy outlets to this territorial instinct include providing scratchers for your cat to mark with their claws and giving them additional vertical territory in the form of a cat tree.
This recipe worked for me. My baby had a bladder infection, and peed on a spot on the carpet multiple times. I tried the Nature’s Miracle stuff, nothing! It actually gave me headaches, it smelled too strong. Then I used vinegar, it worked, but it did not last. Then I rented a Rug Doctor, and bought their Pet soap. That one smelled better, but did nothing for the pee smell. I finally found this site and tried it. It has been a week now since I applied it for the first time, and the odor is gone. I had to apply it twice, but so far, so good.
The clean scent is chemical-free, and Sunny & Honey Pet Stain and Odor Miracle is safe for use around children and other animals. The odor of this product is not as strong as many of the other options available. Unlike some products that seem to make the smell of pet stains worse, many customers attest to the fact that this actually helps to neutralize the odor.
That said, there are a few other benefits to using the best pet odor eliminator rather than a cheap solution. We’ll take the first rated option – Rocco & Roxie – as an example to explain what else a pet owner can expect from a good quality odor eliminator dogs.
Choose a remover with a nice smell that suits both you and kittens. I really like an odor remover that has a mild fragrance, not those fake products that use overly strong smell to cover the odor. I don’t mean all products that have a strong smell are fake but you should be careful when testing them. Fake ones will only fool your nose with a stronger smell but it’ll go away soon.
Thanks justmesuzanne, but I haven’t found any odor problems after treating the area promptly with just vinegar and baking soda. Listerine is a good tip (apparently this product was first invented as a floor cleaner and only later became a mouthwash!!). I would definitely recommend checking that it has no effect on the color of the carpet by testing in an inconspicuous area first though.
Every carpet cleaner has been there—the home with small dogs that leave tiny puddles all over the carpet. When faced with those unsightly yellow stains, it’s time to use the powerful, self-neutralizing stain remover homeowners call by name, “BAD DOG!”
Even diehard cat lovers have to admit that not only is the smell of cat urine TERRIBLE, it is almost impossible to remove from carpets, upholstery, fabric, floors, bedding, or anywhere else. Kittens and aging cats, in particular, often have continence issues. You have to sympathize, but you also don’t want to live in the stink of cat pee or allow your beloved pet to ruin the furniture.
