“remove urine stains upholstery urine out of carpet”

Pick up and wash laundry. Laundry that’s piled up on the floor can start to take on a musty odor, and this can make the entire room smell.[1] What’s worse, wet laundry can be a breeding ground for mold. Collect laundry from all over the house, separate it into loads, and wash it in the washing machine.
If the area you are working with is the carpet, work the baking soda into the carpet fibers carefully with an old toothbrush or something similar, something that won’t damage the carpet fibers. And do be careful that you don’t pull or snag the carpet fibers.
(Explanation. Dish Soap or Dishwashing Detergent? Different countries call it different names. It is what you use to wash dishes in your sink. For example, Dawn, Palmolive, Fairy etc. Do not use Detergent that you put in your dishwasher)
Odors caused by decomposition often require specific steps for removal. Organic materials immediately begin to decompose after death, and while that is a completely normal process, it can cause an overwhelming concentration of malodorous compounds. This means that store-bought diluted solutions may not be powerful enough to eliminate smell.
I just moved into a new place, the people who lived in it before us had dogs. The pet urine smell is actually pretty strong. I’ve used pet urine, stain and odor spray, it didn’t help. We used a carpet scrubber on it twice and I don’t think its helping. Any helpful hits or ideas? I just want the smell gone!
Debra, I’m really sorry to hear that. Other than keeping your windows open, there’s really not much you can do. The pet owners are the ones who have to fix the problem. You need to talk to them again. If that doesn’t work, talk to the property management. They don’t want one resident making life unpleasant for the rest. They’re in the business of making money and to do that, they need to keep residents somewhat happy. So seriously, give the neighbors one last chance and then go above them.
Start off by taking all of the furniture apart – pillows, blankets and the like – and vacuuming everything thoroughly. If the sofa and chairs have removable slipcovers or cushion covers, take those off for washing (details later). Get into the crevices of the furniture as deep as possible to remove all the hair, and flip the bed mattress to get both sides. On the floors, make sure to get under all of the furniture and in the corners, where “hair bunnies” tend to gather.
When we moved to our new home, everything looked ok. After a time s nasty smell started coming from the carpet. Then I remembered that the previous owners had cats at home and because we liked the carpet we didn’t throw it. At the end i tried whatever came to my mind to get rid if the smell, but it didn’t help. At the end I called carpet cleaning guys (http://www.mariettacleaning.com ) who helped me out. So these tips above work great if the stain is fresh, but not when it’s penetrated deep in the carpet’s fibers.
If your home has pet odor problems, you’re in for one of the toughest odor removal projects known to man. That doesn’t mean you should give up hope. It just means that depending on the nature of the odor, and the material, this isn’t going to be an easy task.
If you go to a horse store, you can get some stall neutralizer that works for the rocks. I live in the desert and so I really do not have grass. I sprinkle this every so often and it helps immensely. It will come in a 40 lb bag and it is safe for pets.
Deodorize with charcoal. Charcoal is similarly a powerful odor absorber that can be used in many rooms and inside appliances to deodorize.[14] Be sure to use pure charcoal and not something that contains lighter fluid. Place a few pieces of charcoal on plates and distribute them around the house. You can put them in:
The same basic procedures apply for an old stain. But be aware that an old stain may require two or three full cycles of enzyme cleaner application (allowing it to completely dry between applications) in order to completely clean the stain.
Any parent or pet owner has dealt with the unfortunate task of cleaning urine “accidents” from the floor and carpet. It is a natural occurrence when potty or house training and when the child or pet are sick. Carpet cleaners can be pricy and can stain expensive rugs.
Cat urine is the hardest odor in the world to eliminate. And that’s where PureAyre proves its power. But it also gets rid of skunk odor, and it’s powerful for use in situations with many animals, like veterinary clinics, animal shelters, kennels and more. In fact, we have an amazing tale about the power of PureAyre to remove pet odors even in a building that housed a pet store for over 35 years!
Step 1.  If the cat has recently urinated on the carpet, first absorb as much of the cat urine as possible using paper towels. Place several layers of clean paper towels over the cat urine area and tread on them so as to absorb as much of the urine as possible. Repeat with dry towels until no more moisture can be absorbed.
Your recommendation is good. Remember, you may want to soak up the residual moisture with baking soda. Cover it with a paper towel and place a heavy book on top and let it sit overnight. Remove paper towel the next day and see if the baking soda is yellow or white. If white, let it air dry until it can be vacuumed up. If yellow, repeat the process.
After many years of pet ownership and trying various brands, I found this brand several years ago and have been sticking with it ever since. I would warn anyone with sensitivities however, it has an extremely strong deodorizing scent while wet; hard to describe, but the fragrance is almost overwhelming, somewhere between perfumey and detergent-like. BUT: It works, so I keep buying it despite the strong scent. It doesn’t just mask the urine odor either, it genuinely seems to eliminate it and once the product dries the odor isn’t overwhelming anymore and the urine smell is gone. I have a senior-aged kitty who suffers from Urinary Tract Disease and he goes outside the box when it’s acting up and he’s in discomfort. I’ve tried many other brands offering various promises and none that I’ve tried work as well as this. You pour it on the stain and leave it to dry, very easy. It warns to test for color fastness but I’ve never had any issues with it on surfaces or fabrics. I particularly like it for my unfinished hardwood floors because it’s otherwise impossible to clean into the floor boards with any degree of success when cat urine odor is involved. So I just pour this in the cracks and leave it. As a further testament, just this last week I ran out and of course that’s when my cat had an accident. After scrubbing and scrubbing I thought I might have to throw away my area rug because I could still smell it and it had dried days before my order for this bottle arrived. But sure enough, I poured it on the area where the urine odor was still strong and now it’s gone, so it apparently works great even if the stain isn’t fresh.
It’s important to consult with your veterinarian to find out why your cat isn’t using her box. But in the meantime, if you do find urine on the new chaise lounge, don’t fret. We’re sharing 10 tips for cleaning cat urine and preventing your furniture from being given away to your sister who’s been eyeing it anyways.
The enzymes also destroy the pheromone in the urine stain. This is something I personally have never smelled, our noses can’t, but while vinegar may rid the urine smell, it will not destroy the pheromones. Also because my husband owns a carpet store, I can tell you a lot of times people clean the carpet, but if the urine is still in the pad underneath, or the sub floor, they are chasing their tails (pun intended) you need to be sure the pad and floor are also cleaned with the enzyme cleaner.
Mix a solution of a hydrogen peroxide and dish detergent. Take about a half cup of peroxide and mix it with a spoonful of dish detergent. If using on a light-colored carpet, be sure to use a colorless dish detergent.
To make this cleaning mixture is quite simple. Take 10 ounces of hydrogen peroxide, 3 tablespoons of baking soda, and one or two drops of dish detergent. Mix all three ingredients in a bowl and then slowly pour into a spray bottle. (Otherwise, the baking soda will cause the mixture to foam all over the place).

Removing cat urine and the odor that comes along with it doesn’t have to be a difficult task, but one that you must do right away and as completely as possible to ensure that the cat doesn’t make that spot her new litter box.
I own a cat that my girlfriend claims is a bit of a male diva. What I try and explain to her is that cats are, by default, emotionally demanding, masters of creating unnecessary drama, fussy over their appearance, and basically can make the world revolve around them.

Charged Media filters are also effective against nasty odors. Through the use of electrostatic energy and synthetic fiber filters, many charged media filters can collect particles as small as 0.1 microns. The media filter, made from synthetic fibers, is charged through the manufacturing process and attracts airborne contaminants electrostatically before trapping them inside the fibers of the filter.
Hi Mary, My spray bottle became clogged also. You can fix it by running the openning under very hot water for a few minutes and the spray some very hot water a few times. This works but not in a spray bottle! I had two areas of puppy pee on my mattress and I have been very upset about it and have been sleeping in another bed. This is what I did: I sprayed the peroxide directly on the stains, then mixed the baking soda and dish soap in a jar and shook very hard. I put the solution on a clean white rag and rubbed the stains (sprayed with peroxide) very hard. I set up a fan and in one hour I had a white, fresh smelling mattress again. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!! Nature’s Miracle, which can be bought at most large pet stores—at some in gallon containers with a battery-operated sprayer, although that’s not necessary. We have lived with cats for decades, and this is the only material that is always successful in removing odors. We have not had real problems with our cats, but all you need is one to make a house smell terrible. Nature’s Miracle also works well in the washing machine—just add a bit in the pre-rinse.
You go to the pantry to get a fresh roll of paper towels and are relieved that they are the extra absorbent and the super strong type with the beefy guy on the package. Ripping open the package you assault the offensive sausage or mop up the little ocean of urine. After cleaning up the land mines or your yellow river you mount an assault on the odor using a bazooka size air freshener, you fumigate the entire room.
Try storing your shoes temporarily in a closed bin to see if the odor goes away. Try replacing your pillows and using zippered pillow covers, which you should wash every week along with your sheets. Try washing the mattress pad, blankets and other bed coverings.

What do you do if the clothing is a dry clean only winter coat? My sons friends cat sprayed all over him. I won’t allow the clothing in my house until I know how to get rid of the urine. I have a cat and do not want him to start spraying my house.
