“urine off cat |remove urine smell toilet”

My cat has sprayed up against the glass window on my gas fire. I have had it pulled apart and thoroughly cleaned and I can still smell the burnt cat pee every time I light it. I have no idea how the glass can have absorbed the smell, I can only assume it has dribbled down into the vents. I have tried spraying aromatherapy oils and Odour remover in the same place as the cat peed in the hopes it would get into the vents as well but no luck… Any ideas? It is winter here in New Zealand and getting cold, but lighting the fire is making me sick! 🙁
If your cat pees in your potted plant you can deter them by placing some pine cones on top of the soil. Commercial cat repellants are also available. Here are some home remedy tips to try to Stop Cat Peeing in Potted Plants
I have tried enzymatic cleaners (Nature’s miracle/Simple Solution/OUT/Bio-Kleen)… industrial cleaners (Odoban)… the originals (Resolve)… and while I do have my favorites among those, none really worked so fully and so safely as Rocco. I am absolutely stunned. This stuff couldn’t work better for my needs.
Step 1.  If the cat has recently urinated on the carpet, first absorb as much of the cat urine as possible using paper towels. Place several layers of clean paper towels over the cat urine area and tread on them so as to absorb as much of the urine as possible. Repeat with dry towels until no more moisture can be absorbed.
Search at night or in complete darkness. Pet urine can be difficult to see, especially when old, so maximize your search efforts by taking advantage of darkness. Either wait for night, or make the room as dark as possible.

Mattresses require the same process as cushion. After applying the enzymatic cleaner, letting it sit and blotting it up, place several layers of clean towels over the area and then make the bed. Swap out the towels each day until the mattress completely dries. To discourage peeing on the spot while the mattress dries, cover the bed with a large plastic sheet or tarp when you’re not using it. DeFeo also suggests keeping a plastic cover over your mattress at all times, particularly if your cat has taken to peeing outside its litter box.
Hi, Emmalee! That’s a good question – throwing it all on top of the clothes shouldn’t hurt them at all. If you have dispensers in your machine, then what I do is throw the vinegar into my detergent dispenser and then the baking soda (along with the detergent). But if you don’t have the dispensers then don’t be afraid to throw it all in and start your machine. It’s gentle stuff.
I recently cleaned out my closet, i keep my room closed and no cats allowed at all times. I gave a bag of clothes to a neighbor and she said she threw them away cause they smelled like cat pee. ugh. anyway now i feel the need to wash all the clothes i have. i realllllllllllly hope the ACV works. I have no clue why they would smell like cat pee, i highly doubt my cats are breaking in there and closing the door behind them. This apartment gets really damp when it rains maybe thats the issue. any good spray fresheners to use on the carpet or walls or wherever? i dont want the freshly washed clothes to just soak up the smell again.
Aluminum foil is a great deterrent tool to use to discourage your pet from urinating in the upholstery again. The crinkly sound and feel of foil when your pet steps on it is not pleasing to your pet or might even scare them off of the upholstery completely.

I don’t know what to say about how wonderful this tip has been. I have two bichons, one of which has always had problems with holding her bladder. I used Arm and Hammer Stain and Odour Remover which worked pretty well, but over time my rug had the most awful odour- sort of peppery and sickly. I was at the point of replacing my expensive rug when I came across this site. Thank goodness I did! I applied all the solutions this evening and, two hours later, I can’t smell anything nasty. I am going to reapply tomorrow because it takes no time to do this. I just want to ensure this ugly stench stays away. Thank you, thank you.
Air cleaners utilize various methods of filtration for neutralizing and cleaning the awful odors in indoor air. Activated Carbon Filters are the most widely used type of filter to remove gases, odors, and chemical toxins. The carbon that is contained in activated carbon filters is basically charcoal. When charcoal is treated with oxygen, millions of tiny pores between the carbon atoms are created, enabling the activated carbon to adsorb odorous substances from gases or liquids.
Before you use any products on furniture, it’s best to disassemble as much as possible. Remove pillows, blankets, slip covers, or any other materials so you can vacuum or treat areas separately and thoroughly.
I have been told by an animal behaviorist about this product for ridding your carpet from pee odors and poop odors. The product is called Anti Icky Poo (lol). It is organic and environmentally safe to remove odors. It is avaible at some pet stores or online.

Odors caused by decomposition often require specific steps for removal. Organic materials immediately begin to decompose after death, and while that is a completely normal process, it can cause an overwhelming concentration of malodorous compounds. This means that store-bought diluted solutions may not be powerful enough to eliminate smell.

While these Prana Pets natural remedies for dogs are healthy and easy to use, they’re also quite expensive. Keep in mind that most natural remedies are pricey, and you may end up saving money if you no longer have to purchase over-the-counter or prescription medications for your pet.
I work for a carpet cleaning company and we use a product called Skunk Out by Adco Pro Cleaning. It doesn’t take much and it works very well. The product contains active enzymes that break down the ammonia in the urine.
This morning I had the carpet up and discovered it went under the boarding on the side of the bath in both corners and under one end of the duck board that we use on getting out of the bath. I used the dilute baking soda, straight away on the duck board (I know how good that is from having small children throw up in the car!!) removed the carpet – it’s now waiting to go to the tip, washed the cement floor underneath with the same mixture, until the shops were open and I could get out to get the ingredients for a spray. Here’s hoping it works, I think the enzyme action of the mixture should do the trick, the science makes sense!! Fingers crossed.
Here is my magic method that has taken me over a year to come up with, the only thing that works for me. Also note that I have the tried the same method with other cleaners, and SUN is the key to it working for me. Like I said, I have hardwood floors and this product does not damage them. Using a paper towel I dry the urine up completely. Then I lay dry paper towels over the entire area where there was urine. After mixing my SUN solution up (I make it strong using less water) I pour it all over the paper towels until they are completely saturated with the solution. I have an oscillating fan that I put on the floor and point toward the wet paper towels. I leave it there all day or until they are dry. Once dry, I discard the dried paper towels, then I lay more dry paper towels down and I repeat the whole process one more time. Well- la, that’s it. Every now and then I will spray some more SUN solution to that area and wipe it down just to keep up with it. This really works for me. Trust me, I have been to the point where I was in tears and spending tons of money to try and fix the problem. Since the reason my cat does this is behavioral and there isn’t a medical reason why she does it (as said by my vet after running several tests, food changes, new litter boxes, calming collars, calming spray, and the list goes on), I keep at least one of these bottles handy at all times in case there is another occurrence.

Products that use more traditional methods of cleaning with solvents (to dissolve stains) and surfactants (surface active agents that “wet” the carpet) may not be as effective and can actually deactivate enzymatic cleaners. Keep an eye the ingredient panel for chlorine, ammonia and sodium lauryl sulfate, as these can be harmful to pets (and people, too). If the product’s instructions direct you to keep pets and children away from the product after it has been applied, you might want to think twice about using it in your home.
Occasionally, dogs can urinate in areas they are not supposed to. This can result in a terrible dog urine odor problem regardless of whether the reason is submissiveness, not being trained, incontinence, or illness. Learn how to remove dog urine smell now before gets embarrassing. » More
The type of surface that you’re going to apply on is also a factor to consider. See if the product is recommended for your upholstery, carpet, floor, and so on. It’s best to choose removers with a natural bacterial formula. They have no harm to your health and also very good at their job.
