“what to use to clean cat pee |best spray for cat urine”

Citrus fruits contain enzymes that help break down odors. You can make a powerful enzymatic cleaner that removes most pet odors, but you need to be patient. These solutions have to brew for a few months.
I’ve been using the vinegar/water mix for years to rid the carpet of pet odors. It’s always worked well for me. I like the baking soda suggestion and if I get in a position where V/W doesn’t work, I’ll give it a try. Thanks for the suggestions Angie’s!
Ozone odor control devices are able to eliminate pet odor, along with a whole host of other tricky household odors by releasing a highly reactive oxidant into the air which neutralizes and destroys the pet odor molecules in the surrounding atmosphere. The ozone molecules cause the pet odor to become inert gaseous compounds which lose all of their characteristics and odor before being dispersed back to the air. As well as being used to deodorize the air in one’s home or car, electronic ozone equipment can help to provide a healthier breathing space by helping to eliminate the toxins and bacteria that can be present in the air from the pet odor.
I have two cats. One male and one female. My male is just over a year old. He was born feral. I have had him from about 8-10 weeks of age. He had few accidents in the first couple of weeks but that eventually stopped. My female is only a week over six months of age. She was litter box trained when I brought her home but still had accidents for the first couple of weeks. She has stopped. I have had cats almost my entire life so I know that when a male sprays the smell is stronger. That being said, my male has started spraying again. Most of the time I catch him in the act because he seems to be doing so out of anger. Most of the time it seems to be on my bedding (pillows or blankets). I am able to take those things to a washer and clean them with vinegar and/or baking soda and the smell is gone. My problem is that he is spraying in some other spot within my small living space. I cannot clean it because I cannot distinguish where he is spraying. Is there a way to mask the smell while i continue to try to clean a possible areas? I clean their litter box as often as possible (believe me they let me know if I am slacking) and I am sure that the smell is not coming from that.
After about 24 hours, soak the area with an enzyme cleaner and let it completely air dry. To keep your family members from stepping on the spot, cover the area with a laundry basket or aluminum foil. It may take a day or two to dry completely.
I took in two street cats in 2006. They are excellent in grooming themselves and didn’t need any litter box training. One of the cats has a poop smell on his scruff while the other does not. I thought it may have been a temporary thing, but it is still very much there. Is there a natural way I can get rid of this odor, especially since it is directly located on cat’s scruff area? Thanks!
All of this one-on-one time means that all of our furnishings are going to hold the distinct smell of dog, and even the most rabid of dog lovers amongst us may not want the whole house to smell of a dog that needs a good washing – not if we want to enjoy the company of human guests. So how do you get rid of that smelly dog smell? We’re happy to tell you that it’s relatively easy.
By using a simple odor control air cleaner with ozone technology, you can eliminate all the harmful elements of the atmosphere that you live in which can help to maintain health and well being for the whole family. By removing the negative ions and substances from the air with ozone technologies you can help any asthma, bronchitis, skin irritation, as well as an array of other complaints, to be reduced dramatically and naturally. As well as cleaning up the air we are breathing in on a daily basis, the variety of available ozone devices are a green technology which naturally removes pet odor without harming the atmosphere or causing any damage to the earth’s balance and harmony, they are able to purify our air without any side effects to us or the planet.

If you go to a horse store, you can get some stall neutralizer that works for the rocks. I live in the desert and so I really do not have grass. I sprinkle this every so often and it helps immensely. It will come in a 40 lb bag and it is safe for pets.
To tackle odor control, HEPA air purifiers usually combine the HEPA filter with additional filtration systems. Manufacturers like Austin Air combine the HEPA filtration technology with their own carbon/zeolite filter to effectively remove airborne pollutants and lingering odors and smells. The carbon/zeolite filter is impregnated with potassium iodide (in the HealthMate Plus air purifier) for enhanced removal of chemically reactive gases, providing your home with air that’s free of allergens, toxins, and odors.
To clean the compounds that are not water-soluble, use enzyme cleaners which are the most powerful substance in term of cleaning cat urine. They are meant to destroy the uric acid into ammonia and carbon dioxide. You will notice that it will off gas afterward.
Bleach your cement floors and bare walls. Although this method is widely disputed because of the deadly reaction bleach has with ammonia (which is found in cat urine), if you go about it carefully, it can be an effective way to kick the urine smell out of your life for good. First, wash the soiled area with any appropriate cleaner you have that DOES NOT contain ammonia. Once clean, wipe the area down with fresh water to remove any residue left behind by the cleaner. Next, do it again. I know it sounds laborious, but trust me, this works. After your second washing and wiping, employ your bleach. In a clean spray bottle you can pick up from the beauty section of any Target store, mix a 10:1 water to bleach solution. Make sure the area you are cleaning in is well ventilated, put on some rubber gloves and get to work. Spray on lightly, let sit for about 30 seconds, and wipe off with a clean damp rag.
Scrub the vinegar solution into the soiled area. Use a bristle brush and thoroughly rub the vinegar/water mixture until the area is completely soaked. The vinegar will neutralize the ammonia smell in your cat’s urine.[3]
Thanks So Very Much for all these tips!!!!! This is the Most Helpful site I have found!!!! Bless you!!! My Elderly parents have a cat who has Never peed inside, then peed a lot on their bed. I certainly hope that I never have to use Stinkers! for skunk spray, but I’m pretty confident that it would do a great job. According to one of the many 5-star reviews on Amazon, “Skunks and my dogs meet each other on a regular basis on my ranch…forget all those home remedies, this works!” Judging by how well Stinkers! worked on everything else we tested this past month (including that absolutely putrid dead animal stink!), I’m going to take his word for it!
The type of stains that you want to remove is the most important. If it’s only urine, choose a specialized product that can clean effectively. But you can also choose a remover that has multiple uses which can be used on coffee, tea stains, and like wise.
This bio-enzymatic formula from Nature’s Miracle is said to eliminate odor, stains, and sticky residue from carpets, furniture, clothing, and more. It is guaranteed to permanently eliminate stains and odors, so it is definitely worth a try! The self-proclaimed urine destroyer also works to discourage re-soiling due to its dual-action, odor-control system that destroys odors on contact.
A: Eliminate odors coming from the shower drain by eliminating the source of the odor. Hair, soap, body oils and everything else that goes down the drain leads to foul smells, and those things must come out for the smell to disappear.
Does anybody have suggestions for removing cat odor from wood floors that have been peed on? We have sanded 1/4 inch off and resealed but it still permeates. I think we will have to kilz and cover. It is the most vile smell ever. I don’t even have cats and cannot get rid of the aroma. It makes me want to vomit. I have tried all of the enzymatic cleaners, vinegar, hydrogen peroxide, bleach and mouthwash solutions. At this point, I am just wanting to cover up the smell to make it tolerable to live in in the meantime. Help!
This will get rid of a great deal of the smell, but to really do a thorough job, you might want to rent a carpet cleaning machine with an attachment for furniture – or call a cleaning company to do it for you. Always start with neutralizing as much of the smell as possible before the shampooing, though, or all you will be doing is creating a hybrid of dog smell and perfumed shampoo. Not a good combination. And don’t use carpet shampoo on the furniture, or you could end up with ruined and smelly furniture.
Chances are you were using a store bought cleaner that was a brand name in conjunction with a cleaning machine. These cleaners are soap based and as a result, do not remove the odor. Instead, what happens with these types of cleaners is that they attract dirt. They also do not have anything in them that works as an antibacterial agent to break down and remove the odor. You need to use a cleaner that will destroy and kill germs and bacteria that cause the odor. Genesis 950 is my go to cleaner. It is by far the best pet stain remover I have ever found.
Here at Chem-Dry, we love our pets. They brighten up our day and they’re always there to support us, through thick and thin. However, they can make it a real challenge to keep your home clean, healthy and smelling fresh when pet accidents occur.
If the vomit was on the carpet, after wiping it with a damp rag, sprinkle baking soda over the stain and let it sit for an hour to absorb the moisture. If the stain is on a hard floor, proceed to step 3.
Important: Before implementing hydrogen peroxide on your carpet try it on the small part of the carpet and make sure that carpet does not change the color. If the test is accomplished and carpet is looking good go ahead and wash the whole spot with the cleaning mixture.
My cat peed on our couch while we were away even though we had a cat sitter. I tried the baking soda & vinegar solution with directons #2 and the smell is GONE! I’m so happy – the next test will be if cats do it again on our next trip! But at least we have something to clean it up with!
Unlike enzymes, Odorcide 210 works fast on the worst urine, organic decay, feces, and mold and mildew odors with no dwell time and no danger to pets or people. Use it on carpets, canvas, clothing, floors, and walls; it’s also effective as a laundry soak or rinse, and as a surface spray.
Pro’s Choice OSR XG (Odor and Stain Remover) destroys offensive odors through the natural strength of oxygen and the biological power of odor modifiers. No strong or artificial fragrances are left behind—just clean, fresh-smelling carpet and hard surfaces.
Freshening up a room is a real Febreze. A few squirts around the room and odors are spritzed away. When I change the bed linens I spritz a shot of Febreze between the layers of sheets and blankets as it makes it a pleasure to get into bed.  see moreof hillguy802102014’s review
Another idea is to clean out your home heating ducts. is a place where gunk and cat fur can get trapped and so can the smells. You can hire someone to do this or checkout YouTube videos on how to do it yourself. Soaking the grates themselves also couldn’t hurt anything, especially if it’s possible that the cats have peed on these as well. (Of course, make sure that if you take the vent covers off, the cats are contained and won’t crawl in).
Step 4: Once the carpet is almost dry — which could be several hours later — sprinkle a little baking soda on the area to absorb the odor. Allow the baking soda to settle into the carpet fibers for about 15 minutes, then vacuum the area.
Large volumes of concentrated alkaline salts and strong odors that come from bacteria feeding on the waste products contained in the urine can make professional cleaning necessary. The alkaline salts can create a very high pH environment (10 – 10.4) and destabilize normally stable dyes that cause bleeding. This is very difficult to address without steam cleaning and specialized cleaner.
For more stubborn stains and aromas, there are several green enzymatic cleaners you can find to spray on your carpet or, if you have older stains to tackle, consider renting a carpet-cleaning machine from a local store. Rinse the tank out well before use and don’t use the chemical-heavy cleanser that’s often sold with the rental. Instead, Bond recommends using a natural cleaner or a combination of white vinegar and water.
